As more of the premium Fantasy Premier League assets return to their clubs following the World Cup, the debate over which of them to include has ramped up this week.

Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard have all been at the centre of discussions while Everton seem to be the team everybody is talking about.

Here’s the latest from our community this week.

Community Articles

WesMantooth went searching for value this week and did an in-depth comparison between points-per-million and value added per million.

Rossi3254 broke down the arguments for and against Harry Kane, while MathewNixon examined the potential impact of Marco Silva on Everton’s FPL assets.

The Hottest Topics

The old debate of form versus fixtures was the subject of much debate this week as Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) continues to perform well ahead of some difficult matches with West Ham in 2018/19. Original Pirate Material believes he can still score against the big teams.

With Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) returning to match action with Liverpool this week, naturally there were several conversations concerning the Egyptian. Sanchit put out a request for the pros and cons of owning Salah and whether there were any advantages to leaving him out.

Deulofale was keen to sample thoughts on which assets outside of Salah (and Alexis Sanchez) managers are consdering captaining in the first two Gameweeks.

Another big-name player to get the ‘yes or no’ treatment this week was Sergio Aguero (£11.0m). Mikeharbrw began the discussion on whether the Manchester City man is worth having this season. Final Fantasy XI asked the same question of Eden Hazard.

With Liverpool’s defence looking strong this year, Berbinho’s Forehead drew attention to the case for investing in goalkeeper Alisson Becker (£5.5m). On the other side of the river Mersey, plenty of Everton options have been catching our eye too.

Finally, we have already started to cast our minds a few weeks into the 2018/19 season as Geoff asked the community when they were planning on using their first Wildcard.

Members Tables

manchesterfordutd looked at a way of comparing midfielders for their ability to either score or assist in his latest table.

Meanwhile, choppers13 analysed the form of players from the second half of 2017/18 to see which of them can pick up where they left off next term.

How's this? Trying to play it safe for the first few weeks until I wildcard and have players who didn't feature, or had very little time in the World Cup.

    Patrício

    Azpilicueta • Robertson • Shaw • Cédric

    Salah • Sánchez • Sané • Eriksen

    Arnautovic • Zaha

    4.0 • 4.0 • 4.5 • 4.5

Very nice. Not sure on Sanchez (since unconvinced United will batter teams in the same way Pool and City will).

      Apart from that, very strong

Heard Cedric may miss first week, Tomkins a good alternative especially if you are using WC early.

I'd potentially swap out Sanchez for Firmino then spend the extra £1.0 to have a bench that is at least playing to cover random team selections by managers early on

      If you created the league:
      - Click on Leagues
      - Click on the cog beside your league
      - Click on Invite Friends
      You'll see the code then

I've made a couple of edits and would appreciate some tips or any obvious improvements:

    Ederson (Fab)
    Azpi, Alex-Arn, Bailly (Tomkins, Daniels)
Salah, Mkhi, Richarlison + one of Cairney or Neves
    Auba, Firmino, Arnie

Biggest thing for me right now
    A) Firmino + Bailly
    B) Aguero + Peltier

A gives me more solid Def with Tom & Dan rotation. B gives me more firepower up top and an easier way to get in Kane if he starts fast but effectively dead weight in Peltier.

Firmino is amazing but it looks likely that Sturridge will start first game for liverpool might be worth putting sturridge in if your playing wildcard early, he's looked very good pre-season and klopp and been saying if hes fit he will have an important place.

Apart from the FFS and LMS leagues are there any other leagues running like the Are You Smarter than the 10k or Old Farts leagues?

    Thanks

I’m not sure I like it.... what do you think?

    Forster - Fabianski
    TAA - Tomkins - Cedric - Boly - Ogbonna
De Bruyne - Mane - Mata - Lamela - Ramsey
    Lacazette - Morata - Firmino

I don't like it either. Mata and Lamela are by no means going to be rolling in minutes and Ramsey's also not a prolific point-scorer. Your midfield is reliant entirely upon KDB and Mane. There are good value options to supplement them. I happen to think that Morata's a complete mule and that Giroud will eat into his game time.
You could raise funds form one of your keepers (Forster, I'd say), and one of your strikers. Morata to Wood, for example (look at Burnley's opening 8 fixtures) to sort out that midfield.

Does anyone know if the team are doing a Scoutcast before the season starts?

Be like a shooting star. Have a moment of glory.

TC Sanchez, pick 6 players who play on Friday night.

    Any thoughts:
    Heaton (Patricio)
    Azpi-Christensen-Tomkins (Cedric-Suttner)
    KDB-David Silva-Pogba-Jota (LoftusCheek)
    Jesus-Firmino-Zaha

Pogba, KDB, firmino and jesus all might not start first two games at least

    Any thoughts:
    Foster (Stekelenburg)
    Ward, Robertson, Alonso (Cédric, Wan-Bissaka)
    Sánchez, Sané, Salah, Townsend (Masuaku)
    Wood, Morata, King

This is my current team. I don't see much good value for forwards at the moment so have gone with a more expensive midfield and defence. I know Morata is a strange choice but think this my be his breakout season ans only owned by 3%. Looking to swap Morata out for Laca after gw2 tho.

All help is much appreciated, cheers

Longest I have gone without changing my team. 1st 11 looks good, 3 subs what will start. GKs from the same club so will always play. Barring any transfers:injuries surely this is it?

    Pickford
    Robertson/Mendy/Shaw
    Salah/Mahrez/Mkhitaryan/Richarlison
    Aguero/Zaha/Aranutovic

    Stekelenburg/Tomkins/Cedric/Stephens

My only change would be to downgrade Tomkins to Wan Bissaka and then do Pickford to alisson.

That is a nice team, I wouldn't be so confident just yet though, Mendy and Shaw still need to be monitored.
