    Luke Shaw not mentioned a lot in here. Could be option to consider? although little risky considering that Mourinho doesn't seem to like him

          I'm definitely starting with him. United will keep clean sheets, but he's the only defender I can be sure will start. If Mou gets fed up with him after a couple of matches I'll know which United defender to move onto by then.

        Yeah, need to figure out if I want KDB when he’s back and Walker vs Bilva points wise. Just think Both Walker and Mendy could be gold. Same with VVD

          Its currently Mendy and Bernardo from City.

          Already have 3 Liverpool, otherwise VvD would be enticing. Bavies could be a great option, but Spurs are playing with their B team. Also, with Mendy in the team, I wouldn't risk another rotation-prone player in Bavies.

          Azpi / Alonso -- reckon they will score similar points again.

            I will be playing him - im not talking about which to bench. Current set up:

            Foster/Fabs

            PVA, Robertson, Mendy, Luiz
            Salah, richarlison, Eriksen
            Zaha, Aguero, King

            Ralls, wan-Bissaka, cork

            1m itb for KDB return. With Eriksen out though, I would want some spurs rep. For their home game against Fulham.

        Would you start Tomkins the first two games? I think Fulham will be really up for that first home game, then unlikely to get a c/s vs liverpool. PVA has attacking threat regardless..

            I think go PVA then if you intend on the CP asset starting the first 2, otherwise bench Tomkins at 4.5 and bring him in. PVA at 5.5 too expensive to bench more than one week

    I'm struggling a bit with my defence. I have 17m to spend on 3 main defenders. Currently on Azpi, Bertrand and Coleman. Somehow I'm not really too happy with it though. I have Ederson in goal. Any advice?

      Can get Luiz or Rudiger for cheaper at Chelsea.

      Bertrand should do alright but Coleman is 5.5! Bellerin and maybe Man U options at that price point.

      They are a step above most teams you'd see get promoted to the Premier League to be fair.

      Doesn't necessarily mean a lot in terms of how their season will go but they're definitely worth more of a punt in FPL terms than teams in previous years.

    Just been watching some you tube highlights of wolves and Costa actually looked more impressive than Jota to me. Is Jota really that much more nailed in front 3?

      It's hard to imagine Costa being benched but Jota is definitely more nailed and Adama Traore has signed now I think. Costa will be great value if he starts.

      I switched from Jota to Costa - Jota may score more but that 1.5m is a huge difference, making Costa the better value, imo.

        im on cairney at the moment but not even sure if hes on pens or set pieces so maybe a wasted spot. wolves sounding a lot more attacking so costa tempting me despite the rotation risk

    What are your strategy regarding your bench? We said it's important to have a 15 man squad with the big 6 teams rotating a lot. But with WanB and Peltier looking like starters is it a good strategy to have both on your bench or is it too risky? Any Cardiff or Palace fan there that can say if they are likely to be pretty nailed for the season? Cheers

      I have both those guys. Not a Cardiff fan, but Peltier looks like first choice from all the info we have.

      My philosophy is to have at least 2 nailed-on starting outfielders to cover dropped players. That generally means 5m midfielders, but Wan-Bis is an ideal defensive choice this year.
