If I keep Bruno, I won't be able to bridge the 40 points gap. I taking comfort in the fact Rashford takes next penalty. Hoping for a 2 pointer from Bruno and (C) Mane. Good idea?

I agree, the way they both walked away laughing after Rashford buried the one in the corner at Old Trafford... Looks like they are taking turns.

He is a differential and most certainly takes next pen. Got a feeling Bruno blanks somehow.

I don't understand this logic. Pick a different differential. By not picking Bruno chances are you will expand that gap.

      1. Tinkermania
        • 4 Years

I understand you thinking, that's why I brought him in 2 games ago. But am chancing he is about to blank. Maybe just a week without and a punt on Mane(C) could have the deficit.

Not for me, you can't make up ground by jettisoning the highest points per game player.

Your differential needs to come elsewhere to complement.

    C) something else - any suggestions?

Just saw VAR have come out and said Kane penalty should have been given... from a Kane(C) owner I’m fuming. Got 76(-4) and lost 3k places with a captaincy failure so would have been a nice green! Was early in the game aswell...

Good news is VAR is being taken over by FIFA. So you will get more consistency in future.

PL implementation of VAR has been very poor. Personally think PL want it to fail. They were opposed to bringing it in and now they have they haven't done it properly.

VAR has been a disaster. Hands down.

Even since the restart, we've had multiple HUGE mistakes - think Kane, West ham a couple of times, the Sheffield Utd over the line incident.

      It's a complete joke tbh

      1. diesel001
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 8 months ago

Depends what you expect from VAR. If you expect 100% perfection then you have too high expectations.

If you expect an improvement from before (i.e. where refs were using only their eyes) then it has worked, IMO.

When I see Bournemouth's goal correctly ruled out for handball yesterday. When I see all those non-marginal offsides correctly called offside when a linesman has not flagged for it. When I see red cards being given for bad tackles that were previously going unpunished, I think it is a good thing.

There are three things I would change:

        1) All subjective decisions (i.e. not offsides) should go to the onfield ref to use the monitor
        2) All incidents should be shown on the big screens in the stadium (when fans return) so that fans stop moaning at the game about why something has happened then calm down after going home and seeing the highlights
        3) Change the handball rule for when goals are scored.

      2. diesel001
        • 7 Years

When I see Frank Lampard's 'goal' vs Germany not being given when it is two yards over the line I see a HUGE mistake. Also see Roy Carroll.

Thank goodness we have goal line technology. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than just the onfield official's eyes? Yes.

Do not let your aim to be perfect be the enemy of progress towards perfection.

        This.
We seem to have as many mistakes (or at least differences of opinion) but without the ability to understand that refs will make mistakes at full speed. Throw in the delays on top and it's a big negative for me.

Anyone in doubt between Ings or Jimenez this week, run the stats over them for the last two games.

Thinking I might do Jimmy to Ings this week. Was planning to do it next week but got 2FTs and classic form over fixtures. Man U didn't look solid last night though so wouldn't be surprised if he scored again!

Who conceded twice to Bournemouth at home

Conceded twice cause Maguire fell asleep and Bailly was awarded a pen that was never a pen. Utds defence has been solid otherwise. Kept the most clean sheets of all the top teams, besides PSG this calendar year. Or some silly stat like that.

Safer is Bruno. The team have more to play for and you’ll know he will start. I’m saying that I see Salah starting too

    Rashford, Jimenez, DCL

    Considering:
Wan Bis, Sarr, DCL to Azpili, Foden, Greenwood for -4.

    3.9

Personally dont think its worth a wildcard for:
Marital > sterling (could go either way)
Boly > awb (probably 4 points awb)
Trent > vvd (depends on rests)

I have a front eight of:

    KdB Foden Martial Bruno Saka
    Rash Jesus Jimi

    2 FT's, 2.6 ITB

Any thoughts on the following alternatives?

    A) Jimi to Vardy;
    B) Foden, Rash to Sterling, Greenwood;
    C) Foden, Rash, Jim to Sterling, Greenwood, Vardy and a -4.

    Thanks

What to do here? Need to close down a 30pt lead. Thinking of off loading Kdb or Mahrez for Sterling or Jimi for Vardy?
    1FT & 3.2itb

    My Team:

    Patricio - Martins
    TAA - Doherty - Aurier - Kiko - Simpson
    Mane - Kdb - Fernandes - Martial - Mahrez
    Jimi - Greenwood - Connolly

    Rivals team:

    Martinez - Martins
    TAA - Saïss - Taylor - Holgate - Simpson
    Kdb - Son - Bruno - Martial - Salah
    Jimi - Greenwood - Connolly

Jimi to Vardy could make more sense. But Jimi could score against Everton too.

Sterling may well haul then get benched.

      Rough with the smooth.

Captain? Bruno, Salah or other idea?
Right order of starters and bench?

    Foster,
    TAA, Doherty, Fernandez
    Salah, Bruno, KDB, Martial,
    Greenwood, Jimi, Vardy

    Button, Taylor, Hayden, Robinson

    Which move looks best?

    A) Foden + Kane > Mane(C) + Iheanacho (-4)

    B) Kane > Vardy(C)

Mane is a good pick for this week but foden is a good 5th mid for the rest of the season so if not WC i would choose B
