FFS Cup

The winner of our latest FFS Cup competition revealed

The latest edition of our FFS Cup came to a conclusion in midweek, with Powell coming out on top after an 81-72 win over Manisaspor.

The pair shared seven of their starting XI going into Gameweek 37+: Nick Pope (£5.1m), James Tarkowski (£5.5m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.1m), Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m), Marcus Rashford (£8.9m) and Danny Ings (£7.6m).

Powell’s differentials were Erik Pieters (£4.3m), Christian Pulisic (£7.4m), Raheem Sterling (£11.9m) and Mason Greenwood (£4.8m), with Manisaspor’s unique picks being Matt Doherty (£6.5m), Raul Jimenez (£8.1m), Anthony Martial (£8.5m) and Phil Foden (£5.5m).

All eight of these players delivered at least one attacking return for their owners but Sterling’s 17-point haul was perhaps the key variable.

The pair opted for different captaincy picks, too: Powell backed Rashford, with his opponent plumping for Martial.

Powell took a hit ahead of Saturday’s deadline, too, bringing in Pieters and Tarkowski for an inspired triple-up on the Burnley defence.

Even that minus four deduction and a captaincy failure didn’t make a difference, with Pulisic’s nine-point haul in the final Gameweek 37+ fixture at Anfield rubber-stamping our winner’s victory.

Powell’s strong Gameweek was enough to lift him up to 343rd in the world, his highest rank of the season.

Manisaspor is tantalisingly close to a top 1k finish, meanwhile, sitting in 1,340th place.

In our third-place play-off, Sharpey defeated Joax2 69-63.

Once again, the pair shared seven of their starting XI and both managers joined Manisaspor in handing the armband to Martial.

The benching of Romain Saiss (£4.8m) left Joax2 without a third playing FPL defender, which proved crucial as Sharpey triumphed by the six points that Willy Boly (£4.9m) brought him against Crystal Palace.

Hauls for Alexander-Arnold and Greenwood on Wednesday also saw Sharpey home, who triumphed despite taking an eight-point hit going into Gameweek 37+.

Going to ditch Jesus (already have KDB & DSilva too) so I can bring in Sterling.
So need an 8.4m or less Striker and with Greenwood & Ings alongside, most likely will bench the new striker.
So who would you want to see 1st on your bench when the inevitable GW38 rotation brings him on.

    a) Woods, level with Sheffield on points, so a league place to play for and on form.
    b) Deeney - relegation battle, relative form see tables in article.
    c) Abraham - clinging to top 4 by a thread.
    d) Jiminez, squabbling with Spurs for 6th (do they care?)

It's a situation I think many FH'ers face given the paucity of striking options beyond Kane. I have to say I'm not keen on any of the options presented, Jimi might get a single goal I guess. Not sure I'd be wanting to start Greenwood ahead of a more expensive option but that's another debate.

Ok I’ve decided I need more balance at the back and so bringing Trent back in.

    3-5-2:

    Martinez
    TAA, Pieters, Branthwaite/Aurier
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Bruno/Pulisic, Dilva
    Kane, Greenwood

    A or B?

    A. Branthwaite and Bruno
    B. Aurier and Pulisic

      1. yer old da
        • 14 Years

Yeah I love Bruno but he looks knackered and Utd don’t need to win so it will be a cagey affair. Might go Antonio rather than Pulisic actually for similar reasons - Wolves are great defensively and West Ham in good form...an early goal in that and it could be a goalfest.

    2. OleGGMU

B, Utd looking flat, been a downward slide in their energy and overall performance levels since the Sou game, Bruno looking a bit tired legs, Puli more explosive and after that Pool game , Lamps and Chels are well fired up + game is at Stamford Bridge.

Prefer Antonio over Richarlison, on form, plays as striker aswell and less likely to get a yellow compared to Richarlison. Everton have been flat and uninterested in the league since restart, have the on the beach / pitching up to play for the sake of it attitude

Agreed, personally keeping vardy, would obviously prefer Kane but also feel that Vardy could be Jammy as a differential this week given the number of players ditching and the fact that UTD's draw and Chels loss means Leicester have to go all out for the win rather than play a tactical game, Im expecting goals at both ends and a potential pen in the game for one of the teams

    An idea:

I was thinking it's a shame that once the FPL season is over you forgot who finished where in your leagues.

It would be handy to have leagues previous positions saved so you can see who won 2017/18, 18/19 etc.

Understand this could lead to lotttts of storage on the old FPL Towers servers, but hey ho.

    Thoughts?

TC Sterl, VC Dsilva, would love the romance of it to put the chip on DSilva but making choices based on such rarely works out, at least for me it hasnt,
I do see at least a goal from him so that + CS = 8 *3 = 24 , decent haul. Assist potential is there aswell. Baps are too difficult to predict but decent haul potential nevertheless imo.

I’m likely ditching him but it will be for Sterling (c) so I feel it’s justified

      Otherwise I’d hold

    Mccarthy
    TAA Pieters Tarkowski Doherty
    Bruno KDB DSilva Sterling (c)
    Jiminez Ings
    (hendo, awb, greenwood, mcneil)

    1FT 0.0ITB

6 points at the top of my ML with 2cd playing free hit. Im the under dog no doubt, what move can i look at?

Thinking Doherty > Digne or Tierney? Need to make the most of this FT

      That's a pretty solid side

I'd be more tempted to shift Bruno than a defender

Hmm its tough. Who instead of Bruno? Pulisic? Antonio?

its the game with the most on the line for both teams, its going to be tight, FH isnt about coverage picks, its about high ceiling picks imo

          Agreed

Have Martial anyway but that's not part of the equation for me. Edging towards Greenwood as I suspect he has a higher ceiling - little in it probs

      Greenwood.

Burnley attack could not finish off vs 9 Norwich.

I even fancy a Brighton win on the last day.

Sort of expect Brighton to do nicely too - for once quite relaxed about no Burnley defence.

    Hey guys,
Got nothing to lose in my ml, should I go for more differentials in this FH team? Ignore Dawson if you want, I just fancy a punt.

    Martinez
    Pieters TAA Dawson
    Salah kdb dilva sterling antonio
    Kane greenwood
    Martin nketiah Williams tanganga

if your hail marry, i really like the mo and mane double up, in your team for example, KDB and Kane to Mane and Jesus.

Hmm interesting. Don't love jesus though.
        A) Kdb and Antonio

    Fernandes+Rashford -> Sterling (C)+Nketiah worth a -4?

    If so, is Fernander+Rashford+Vardy -> Sterling+Nketiah+Kane worth a -8?

    Pope
    TAA, VVD, Doherty (Stevens, Stephens)
    Salah, Dilva, Puli, Bruno, (Foden)
    Vardy, Rashford, Greenwood

If I get Nketiah I'll bench him and play Foden.

Yeah, Salah or Dilva if not. I'm being scared by all the FH teams flying around. Thinking I may as well have some fun as the ML has gone and OR is fine.
