    Best move this week?

    Diaz to Maddison?
    Son to Bowen?
    Diaz to Maddison?

My team as it is now:

    Onana
    Estu - Chillwell - Henry
    Rashford - Saka - Mbuemo - Odegaard - Bruno
    Alvarez - Haaland
    ______________________________________
    Turner: Gabriel: Baldock: Mubama

Potential WC Team if I did it for GW 4:

    Ederson
    Chillwell - Estu - Udogie
    Sterling - Saka - Mbuemo - Bruno - Maddison
    Alvarez - Haaland
    _____________________________________
    Areola: Jackson: Henry: Botman

    Leaves around 0.3 ITB

    So 7 changes basically.

Would you say this is worth it? And would you make the changes a week early? Or leave until after GW 4 and tinker over the int break?

    Cheers gents.

Don't think so tbh. A couple of transfers and your starting 11 will be almost identical. Also benching headaches galore with that WC team. Your current team is pretty good as it is.

Cheers buddy, yeah I have to agree, I suppose it’s just a case of wanting the changes NOW rather than phase them in, so essentially just patience haha!
It’s still possible I may WC over the IB to take more advantage of fixtures, but this has give it some context, cheers man.

Sterling and Madds in on a -4? The moves are a week late though 😉

Cheers man! Yeah those moves are a little late haha but the potential is still there before the break of course. Certainly shall consider it.
United doing my head in but inclined to keep both, especially Bruno (feel easier about losing Rashford) considering Arsenal’s defensive frailties of late.

A -4 could well be on the cards. I’ll sleep on it anyway, speaking of which, time for me to do just that haha. Night all.

Id do one or two: if you want Maddison, get him for Rashford, and then if you want to play with that money in attack or for Mitoma or for Gabriel. Or just Gabriel to someone. You have time to jump onto Tripper before good run begins in 2-3 GWs

Good bones there. I’d be tempted to keep Salah as he’s becoming a bit of a differential (given his pedigree). As long as you believe it doesn’t compromise the rest of your choices.

Gabriel and Pedro are the fires. I’d be open to moving Rash and Mitoma also. Looks like you’d have about 26.3/4 million for those 4 spots?

Udogie or soon Botman (if not injured) for Gabriel. Could play Baldock v EVE this week if u wait.
      Alvarez or Jackson for Pedro.
Maddison, Sterling, or Diaby for Rash and Mitoma. Lots of options. Rash probably needs to be the fall guy for you to raise funds to upgrade Pedro.

Go with your instinct in Maddison plus Jackson but I’d do it for Rash and Pedro. Should leave you about 11.5 in Mitoma and Gabriel to move to Botman and Diaby/Sterling after the break?!

That's some solid advice mate. Could start Baldock this gw, and do rash and pedro > maddison and jackson for free. Sort out Gabriel after the break if needed. The way Arsenal are defending I won't be surprised to see him starting soon.

Perisic still listed as a defender and down to 4.9. He has been substituted as a left winger only under Ange. If Son moves into the 9 role or there was an injury along that front line it’s possible he could get a run of starts.

Tough to know. But he’d be in the goals and assists playing LW plus get the defender points. And he wouldn’t take up an attacker spot in our teams. If I felt he’d get even 3 or 4 starts in a row I’d be tempted.

Not sure those of us on the outside will ever know. But they haven’t looked as fluid as last year yet. How much of it is formation and not playing a settled back four? How much is Xhaka v Havertz? How much is missing Jesus’ interchange out front? Or a combination even.

Yeah I’m surprised how they hide important stuff like this in modern era where everything is online but my guess is it’s similar to Aubameyang situation, trying to stubbornly show that he’s the boss or something.

It's not hidden - his tactics are right there for all to see - 90 minutes of football over 3 matches, which you admit not watching yet consider yourself some sort of savant. It's your choice to be wilfully blind and ignorant - don't blame secret conspiracies.

That was a response to Nanook, not to you… What’s hidden is not his tactics, but why the falling apart happened between Gabriel and Mikel.

Oh, sorry. I still maintain that it's a highly questionable assumption that there's been any falling out. It's 100% explicable by the wholly consistent tactic that he's used all season. It could be that he starts to see that it's not terribly successful and might start Gabriel soon. But he'll continue to be a doubt for FPL owners.

    Thoughts on
    Johnston + Gabriel > Areola + Chilwell? 2FT

Could do any of Bruno > Madders or Watkins > Jackson/Alvarez or Eze > JWP instead of the GK swap.

This is all to facilitate Chilwell as he seems essential but none other than the GK move really appeals.

Think Johnston might keep his spot for a while, but not getting Areola is looking a gift horse in the mouth. Like JWP and Madders but on balance, mid/forward moves don't appeal much.

I thought I'd gone non-differential but chosen wisely with a double-up on Johnstone and Steele. Now both may be non-starters. I'm gonna risk holding J with a home game v wolves next, but i don't know how long I can keep my fingers crossed.

Johnstone has been very good and took quite a while for him to come into 1st XI to replace Guaita so I assume same again. I am sure Uncle Roy knows his onions, but seems to me that Utd have got lucky. Just needs the Saudis or Moyes to come in for Maguire now (and one of the youth team strikers to be the regen of Batistuta).

Been playing this game for awhile. Son has been my golden boy for years but it's like the armband made him shoot less. Three games I know but he did look promising on the weekend. I'll take your advice but Maddison is tempting!

I think Posty had told him to stay wide and feed Rich, which has been a disaster and affected Son's confidence. If he's given licence to take shots, we might see Son shine.

I think Son Kulu Sarr and Maddison will share the goals. I just happened to pick the most expensive one. Wish Son played down the middle instead of Richie but guess Ange doesn't see it that way. I need him to start returning soon though!

Yeah, I don't have any Spuds, but if I got one in it would be Madders (well, and Udogie). But if you've got Son, transferring him to Madders would seem suboptimal unless the rest of your squad is perfect and you have a transfer to burn.

No, the team looks good for the week (keep an eye on the GK situation re Hendo)

Reckon Johnstone will be fine for this GW and he has Wolves at home, still have Turner as backup. I am thinking of bringing in Vicario though.

Villa's fixtures from GW8 to 14 are really good. Diaby going to be a good shout for that run.

    Transfer advice needed…

I have 2 FTs. Considering the following options:
    A) OUT: Rashford and Martinelli, IN: Maddison and Sterling. (Keep & bench Gabriel?! Feels wrong)
    B) OUT: Martinelli and Gabriel IN: Sterling and Botman (if not injured)
    C) OUT: Rashford and Gabriel, IN: Sterling and Botman (if not injured)

    Any other suggestions?

    My team:

    Ederson

    Estupiñan - Gabriel - Colwill

    Saka - Martinelli - B. Fernandes - Rashford - Mitoma

    Haaland - Watkins

I'd go with B and sell Martinelli. I'd be nervous with Trossard hanging around and Jesus back. Rashford by contrast will always start and will likely play 90mins.

Gabriel has to go. You've got to bight the bullet at some stage, no point delaying it.

Thanks for the advice. Do you think it’d too early to WC? Feels it to me. I don’t want to take a -4 but I’m wondering if it’s worth doing that to get rid of Gabriel and bring in Maddison and Sterling.

you have 2FT's so you want to use those and not WC just yet. I wouldn't be adverse to a -4 if needed to fix issues. However the team is strong enough that I think B will be sufficient for this week.

    Hi All

Any advise for this week? Should I save a FT or is there a move that can't wait till next GW?

My starting team looks ok but I have cash to burn in the bank and I wouldn't mind benching Estupinan. I wouldn't mind upgrading one of my budget defenders at some point but its not urgent.

I'm willing to give Eze one more chance at this stage but could be a sell next week along with Joao Pedro. Not sure if its worth making an attacking change this GW.

    Pickford (shu)
Chilwell (NFO), Colwill (NFO), Estupinan (NEW)
Saka (MUN), Rashford (ars), Maddison (bur), Foden (FUL), Eze (WOL)
    Haaland (FUL), Jackson (NFO)

Subs: Baldock (EVE), Joao Pedro (NEW), Beyer+ (TOT), Turner (che)

    Bank: 2.9
    1FT

Your team looks like it covers the bases. I’m jealous. I’m currently wrestling with Gabriel, Utd & Arsenal double up and lack of Chelsea coverage (see my post above!). Headaches!

Yeah, GK is a potential issue, but perhaps not a burning one at this stage? especially with a good fixture this week.

I am holding Salah for GW4 then deciding what to do with him. Want to see what the situation is with Darwin and whether he will start GW4. His two goals were sublime and would want him in my team with that kind of pace and finishing.

Diaz was unlucky to be hauled off early but was tactical due to VVD being sent off. Still LFC's best attacking asset at this point.

Its a hamstring issue. I'd be surprised if it lasts much longer after the international break. Gusto might get 1-3 games I'd say but that's about it.

Is it worth taking a -4 hit to swap Mitoma for Maddison?

    Reasons for:
    - Mitoma’s next match is against Newcastle (the United match after doesn’t look as bad as the 4 match rating suggests) while Maddison’s next match is BUR
    - Brighton are flush with attackers and will likely rotate once the European matches start (between the Utd & BOU matches)
    - Mitoma’s matches tougher over the next two months
    - Maddison could possibly go up by 0.2 this week
    - Spurs aren’t in Europe and have a great run of fixtures - their only two tough fixtures in the next 7 are against their main rival and a defensively weak LIV

    Reasons against:
    - Minus 4 hit
    - both players likely playing over the international break where either could get injured
    - Maddison might not be fully fit (injury concerns prior to last week’s game and came off at 73 mins last week
