Should Ederson > Johnstone next week be my priority here?

I would send both Onana and Ederson to the bin but good idea to start with Ederson.

That was a clear red for Rash, wasn't it?
And Varane and Maguire playing volleyball together, a clear penalty too!
Var wrongly gets the blame for everything, sometimes it's the players own fault

Didn't he say he's fine? (Not that I believe him, but he didn't say he's injured)

"It was just a kick and I was told by the physios on the radio he wasn't happy to continue,” said Arteta. “So he will have some discomfort but hopefully I am going to assume he will be OK.”

Maybe Arteta does not bother asking Saka when he subs him whether he is actually fine or half dead again.

Surprised at so many suggesting Johnstone as a preferred transfer option. I'm looking to move on Sanchez but Palace fixtures from week 16 up to week 23 (with exception of Sheffield game) will mean very few, if any, clean sheets for them. Hate to admit it, but Areola looks the best option fixtures wise presuming WH will eventually get some clean sheets

    1. FOO FIGHTER

There is also the issue that if West Ham continue to not keep clean sheets, Areola could find himself demoted to the bench. Think it is better to hold until such time.

Yep we could have yet another rotating keeper. Options very limited this year. Leno save points could see him rise to the top

I'd be surprised if Moyes benches Areola for Premier League games, Fabianski's tantrum at being second choice has already seen to that...

I guess its a fair point that Palace's nice fixture run is pretty brief, but they're more than capable of shutting out the bigger teams too, whereas West Ham are just leaking to any calibre of opponent

This is the dilemma. I'll be making the swap this week Leno is the tempter as clean sheet will mean likely 3 bonus and save points and other weeks he will probably get 3 points anyway

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 4 Years

Yeah I do still like Leno as Fulham virtually never concede more than 2 with Palhinha so he can pick up 3-4pt-ers in the toughher games & a huge haul with a CS. Also their attack is pretty poor & he doesn't really have significant rivals for BPS. But maybe we have to expect fewer CS from them overall this season

If you still have WC left or don't mind using an FT on a keeper down the line I think it's fine. I've actually used 2FTs on keepers so far (once was to bring in Leno who got 16pts in the 2 games after I got him, the other was Areola that has been less successful but gave me funds for a different move that worked well). Given how difficult a spot it has been for many I think it's fine to target a team that's been very solid and has a very good run

Cheers Nate. Hard one to call. Forced wildcard (injuries) in week 2 very luckily paid off so OR quite decent. Have 2 free transfers this week and will likely just change keeper and have extra transfer for IB then

    4. Arteta
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

Why not? Johnstone may just be the best option until then, and you will deal with it later. I wanted to buy him last week, but I wasn't prepared to take a hit for a goalkeeper.

I would love to go for Raya, but the third Arsenal spot can be used better, I think.

Yeah I get you, I suppose I meant more that keeper transfers historically are long term transfers so weeks 12-15 is short term in that respect. But he is a perfectly good short term pick

Thought someone said he didn't train yesterday so not looking great. Early Saturday game though so might get some news. I won't be selling unless he's out for a while but his availability will likely dictate my move as I'll probably do Kabore to Lascelles if he's out, or maybe Johnstone in if he's fine so I'll be hoping for some early news on Saturday

Not keen on going into this week without any Arsenal, but struggling to see a clear route in from my existing squad, even with two frees.

    (A) Son out?? Allows either Saka or Martinelli
    (B) Alvarez out would allow Nketiah but there is an injury doubt there.
    (C) Alvarez & Adringa could become Ferguson & Trossard, but that feels very short term and punty.

I think it's either A or hide behind the sofa, for me!

Who are the most enticing differentials on your watchlist?

I'm eyeing Martinelli, Eze, and Livramento for different reasons. It's hard to fit them in the team, but I'd love to try my luck with at least one of them.

Eze & Martinelli right at the top of my list too, although the latter is contingent on no Eddie (and Øde back ideally), and would maybe wait a week on Eze for the better fixture & Olise back. Olise is a consideration too but after such a long injury I guess Eze is safer. Keep waiting for Ansu Fati's first (league) start but its perhaps starting to look like he'll never be as nailed as I hoped. Estupinan is a maybe. Few differentials like Trent in my team already
