Having added statistical maps to our Match Dashboard a week or so ago, we’ve now brought these new aids into the Player Profiles and, more importantly perhaps, the Stats Comparison Tool.

Our Members can now compare two players head-to-head and get both a statistical view and a graphical view of a players performance. Our new maps allow you to plot stats such as Shots, Chances Created, Crosses, Dribbles, Passes and an array of defensive stats. These can, of course, be filtered by a range of Gameweeks or matches and by home and away fixtures.

The next step is to add a heatmap that will plot a player’s touches on the pitch. We’ll be bringing that to you very soon.

The movie below offers a walkthrough of these new features, running a comparison between Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean’s over their last six matches.

Memberships are still available for £12.50 up until the first weekend of the season. Click here for details on how to register or upgrade your account and for all our preview movies so far.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

See, the thing with song is that his situation is not like anyone else's. At all.
His contract runs till 2015 so we don't need to sell him. If we sell him it's because we want to. And with our latest arrivals, and possibly two further ones (Sahin + M'Vila / Capoue) and Coquelin and a couple of other coming into the foray, we might not end up needing him.

If he stays, then perfect. If he goes, for the right price of course, then that's perfect too.

No. No. Song was at fault for half the goals we conceded. He gave plenty of assists, won't deny that but his job wasn't that. It was to defend, and not fall asleep.
20m for him and I'll be happy. A good deal for both parties.

Arsenal fans are truly notorious whingers.

They have never understood what they have. Explains Arsene's pained expression.

The story is well exaggerated but there's definitely a lot of smoke. Three Barcelona players have spoken highly of him, and his agent isn't denying claims of his possible move. Tito and Cesc have refused to comment but they're not plainly denying it either.

I wouldn't bet a Rupee on this, but I wouldn't bet against it either.

Why aren't more people (including me) not putting Dempsey in their teams? Top scoring midfielder in FPL by some distance last year, only 9.5 (Silva scored 25 less points is 10), nailed on and has good fixtures early on! What a puzzle!

Cross post from UEFA Council Leagues as it's a bit quiet

Pepe Reina today met with the squad and the entire staff of Chievo Verona, and gave a short speech from the central pedestal of Conference Room B. It is said that Pepe was impressed with the unity in the camp and the ambitions of the club as a whole. This photo was leaked on twitter by goalkeeping coach, Peter Spinosa.

You may've already discussed it, but I'll throw in my two cents worth as a Villa fan, with Warnock being left out of the squad for the Werder Bremen game:

Amazing really that out of the first choice back four last season, it's very likely that none of them will start (Dunne injured, Collins left, Warnock and Hutton are sure to leave).

Villa squad for Werder Bremen match: Given, Guzan, Marshall, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Lichaj, Stevens, Baker, El Ahmadi, Bannan, Ireland, Delph, Gardner, N'Zogbia, Holman, Bent, Weimann.

In my opinion, Stevens will only be a back-up. Vlaar and Lowton have no PL experience, and so I am fairly sure he isn't seen as ready yet.

    It's very much looking like:

    Lowton-- Vlaar---Clark---Lichaj

I think we will sign a new left-back, so Lowton at 4.5 seems the best option as he's almost nailed on to start the season there. Clark and Lichaj at 4.5 offer good options until Dunne comes back and/or we sign a new left back.

You think Agbonlahor is out best attacking player? Okay..

Clark and Vlaar are better than Collins, and four boots are better than Warnock and Hutton at defending, tackling and playing the offside trap.

Ireland, N'Zogbia, Albrighton, Holman, Bannan, Gardner, El Ahmadi, Clark. Some very good youngsters there (particularly Gardner), and the first three on their day can cause any team trouble.

Someone clearly has something against Villa...

Clark is good and from what I can tell Vlaar is pretty decent too. Lichaj was far better than Hutton when he played. So was Herd. If Ireland can hit form then he's a great player. I am a bit biased but I really think we can't do worse than last season.

Exactly, even the year before was terrible and we finished 9th. McLeish has really affected our reputation. Also, people are forgetting that MON's run was unsustainable and rebuilding because of the high wage demand and players leaving was inevitable.

No. We have better players than Norwich and have made some good signings. It is impossible for things to be as bad as the last two seasons. We've removed a lot of the crap that O'Neill brought in and although a lot of the good players have moved on, we can start to rebuild properly now.

Last season, we had terrible full-backs, and we didn't allow the midfield to be creative, and hence relied on a weak defence and the youngsters in midfield who weren't given the ball to attack. Now, we'll give players like N'Zogbia and Ireland the chance to do what they're good at; Lambert is a million times better for Villa than McLeish was. People are only remembering last season. Actually liking being a Villa fan right now.

    Goalkeepers on a 9m budget.

    Jussi or Davis (favouring Davis)

    Friedel Fed

    Hangeland Clichy A.Cole (Cuellar, Fabio)

    Lamps Siggy Mclean Sinclair (Guthrie)

    Aguero Torres Pog

Not sure about Mclean or Pienaar or Taarabt for 6.5 and worried that I've got no united coverage. If I could find an extra 0.5 somewhere, I could upgrade sinclair to kagawa, but not sure.... any thoughts? Thanks for any help guys

.5 for aguero to Rooney if needed and probably Torres to revel depending on form.. Defence is but weak but with Swansea, Fulham, villa and everton coverage with favourable fixtures and most points being won in the forward 8 think I should be ok.. What ye think??

no options affordable with perfect rotation outside of southampton. personally i've gone for clark (wilson would be another option) rather than worry too much about home/away fixtures and just trust one away from home sometimes.

Lukaku vs Holt GW2-6? West Brom have a tough schedule until gw6. However, Lukaku is currently value priced, not sure how long that will last once the season starts.

Well, this is different from the usual cheap striker question.

Never heard of him. This should put a halt to the Wilson bandwagon, though he can also play at RB or in midfield.....

VDV - Leaving for Valencia today with the team for tomorrow nights friendly. Morning training session went well!

If he manages a good chunk of gametime i'm tempted by him

Don't know am I after losing plot but here is the latest draft

    Federici/ Howard

    Rangel/Hughes/Cuellar/McCarthney/Barnett

    Bale/Lampard/yaya/Sinclair/Klac

    Aguero/Torres/bent

.5 for aguero to Rooney if needed and probably Torres to revel depending on form.. Defence is but weak but with Swansea, Fulham, villa and everton coverage with favourable fixtures and most points being won in the forward 8 think I should be ok.. What ye think??
