How good MC, ARS and LIV are. And when you look at all the top young players in the squads, nothing is going to change soon. Good luck to all the teams in a battle for the 4th spot.

Chelsea have best squad on paper and with right manager they are right there. Tuchel was the right manager but Boehly is going to spoil everything for Chelsea unless he knows his place and keeps away from footballing decisions

They don't have best squad on paper. They well overpaid for most, paid prices of proven players for players with potential.

I normally avoid early transfers like the plague, even if prices rise, but like you I have exact funds so I made the transfer. I’ve got a decent bench should someone have an injury; I wouldn’t have to take a hit as Pedro (who I sold for Solanke and needed to get rid of in any event) was the last player I’d got that was red flagged. I definitely want Solanke for the next few fixtures, not just the double. So unusually for me, I’ve done the transfer.

Did my first rage transfer of the season.

    KdB > Son

Son doesn't play midweek at least and I currently have Palmer first bench so I'm kind of covered in case someone goes down unexpectedly. I will probably take a hit for a defender later this week after the FA cup results depending on what chip strat I decide to go for.

Hoping Leeds knock out Chelsea. It looks more than possible considering Chelsea fatigue from extra time and Leeds' fantastic form (9/9 wins in the league this season so far)

Otherwise, FH29 and I buy an upside defender this week.

53 all out. Not bad for this week

    Sick of Archer so did

Give me an extra player for 29, and now some funds in bank for Son/Salah when needed

I really like the feature in Live FPL that gives you the number of clones of your team in the top one million. This is the first week I've had zero replicas of my team, previously it's always been half a dozen or so. I guess it shows the amount of variation you get in the game, since you may have players who are individually highly owned, the actual combination of your team is pretty unique.

Are you picking your players to avoid replica teams? Regardless, how's your OR and does it improve with less replication?

      1. The Mighty Hippo
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 9 months ago

No, I'm not using that feature to pick my team. It would feel too much like chasing differentials for the sake of it. OR is around 11k, but I don't know if it's any better with more or less replication....I may keep an eye on that, it's an interesting point.

I think the small numbers of replication in a pool of 1M shows that you don't really need to try to hard to get differentials, you'll likely have enough variation to make the necessary differences from week to week as long as your team choice is solid enough.

    3. The fact there are ever any clones shows how limited the player pool is (and/or that people are copying others)

It's 100% right. It's a very famous quote from him that "you can't win anything with kids" after they lost to Villa 3-1 in the opening game of the season but then went onto win the title
