You have to give credit where it was due. I thought Saka would start. I think he was a 100% on Emma's jump the wave. Incredible work to get that one right.

I think you are exaggerating a bit - it was a good guess based on limited information. Maybe a better guess than most of us but a guess nonetheless. They aren't amazing when right or appalling when wrong but somewhere in the middle

As the article mentions, Russell Martin keeps throwing his players under a bus. Poor form IMO. The buck clearly doesn't stop with him. The sooner he gets the boot, the better. I'd like to see Big Sam given a go at keeping them up.

They’ll go down with Allardyce there still. The gap between the promoted teams and teams in the league is huge now

I thought Leicester would have a good chance of staying up, as Cooper is a decent manager and slightly conservative. But they still likely go down

    Any more suggestions guys?
Which of these defenders is best?
    A) Stick with Timber
    B) Timber to Gvardiol
    C) Timber to Lewis (frees cash for Hudson Odoi to McNeil)
    D) Timber to Milenkovic (means I could upgrade Mitoma to Maddison/Bowen/Foden)

Not sure on Timber's injury status but assuming he's due back in the next couple of weeks (and you have a half decent bench option to cover) id stick - Arsenals mid- long term fixtures look great

McNeil for value, Garnacho for form, Foden for potential upside.

Personally I like to have one or two differential picks with strong upside, and play relatively safe with the rest. McNeil is a relatively safe enabler so I have him. Id like Garnacho as a diff with good value but I am not really interested in Foden until he shows some form and consistency of starts

DCL is very frustrating. His stats say an attacking return is imminent but I need to see his goal conversion rate from past seasons to see if he is all fart and no poo and it is so cumbersome and time consuming to that in the members area 🙁

Need to look at his career goal conversion season by season to see if the goals are coming but it is a manual ball ache to do it in the members area. I seem to remember him being profligate last season.

As an Everton fan my take is that Carlo Ancelotti, one of the greatest of all time, saw DCL’s potential and built a team designed to create the types of chances for him he thrived on, hence his purple patch.

Since then, and currently, we simply do not do that. At all. Dom is a terrible finisher 1-on-1, especially when he has time. McNeil now plays centrally and so DCL has lost that avenue of chances from his crosses out wide. There’s a player in there, we’re just not set up to get the best out of him.

I remember that famous Carlo Ancelotti quote about him comparing him to that famous player who scored with one touch.

Would you sell him? His stats are really good.

I own him myself. I won’t be selling before an Andersen-less Fulham and then Southampton. After that I’m more than happy to ship I think. I was leaning towards Ndiaye on WC6 and went for DCL because of the pens. Also, Broja will be back soon to provide some genuine competition so jumping off after Saints makes a lot of sense.

He does, the problem is our wide players. Our full backs lack any attacking quality, while Ndiaye prefers to carry the ball and come inside, and Harrison’s final ball is generally below average. If Lindstrom was up to speed it might help, but he’s never getting a run of starts under Dyche.

Seen some talk about getting Wissa in from folk which I did consider myself. Slightly off putting that Brentford besides that Wolves game where Wolves were horrendous at the back have put up less than 1 xg in 4 of their last 5 games. Context is the away games were at Man City, Man Utd and Spurs so not the easiest but they were awful in the home game with West Ham too. The fixtures are there but I'm not looking at them as some sort of elite attack unless the defence they face is terrible which was the case against Southampton and Wolves so I'm not sure about the double up with Mbeumo. I think Mbeumo should benefit from him being back, he's been very quiet last two games bar his pen.

    1. Maddi Son
      • 8 Years
      1 year, 1 month ago

I know you already mentioned it, but don't you think the context is everything here? They're not going to be as free flowing in attack in those away games... hence the lower xG. You also disregarded the 8 goals they scored against Wolves & Southampton because of their terrible defences. Well next week they're home to Ipswich who recently lost 4-1 to West Ham.

I haven't bought Wissa yet, but at 5.9 I think he's a worthwhile punt. I'm looking to upgrade my fodder attacker so I can bench Rogers for when their fixtures turn in GW10. It's between Wissa & Jimenez but I'm leaning towards the former.

He scored 3 goals in history first 4 games, including a double digit haul.

He has Ipswich next, followed by a good run of games

He was my original cheapie until he got injured, since then it's been scl, then delap, now back to wissa.

He's back earlier than I thought. I should probably wait to see how he goes, but I want to get off IPS.

I should have just gone to Jimenez, in hindsight, but his run has come from nowhere.
He's still a really good option along with wolves fwds.

They kept that Saka corner that gk boxed away as an A and never changed it last season. I have never ever seen assists awarded in those cases before. This is not good for the game. They should be consistent and follow their own rules.

I agree with ya, is there anything about shot on target tho? In my opinion that's a areloa save and own goal with no assist. Maybe since it was on target shot that it wipes the thought of the save and demands an assist. I dunno

Why do people think the content creators knew Saka wasnt going to start? Any evidence to back that up or is it just conspiracy theories?

And why did Son get an assist for that OG?

I suppose that question should be aimed at FPL Towers.

I wish I had done the same, but was I never going to sell Saka before Bournemouth unless I knew he would be injured. Maybe that is the logic it stems from, but it is hardly evidence at all.

It's just fun I guess? I think the drama of last minute transfers on YT is all part of the fun and can easily be misconstrued especially when CCs have used inside info before.

But they tend to share such information with their followers dont they? I mean their salary depends on the amount of followers. So why would they try to trick them for the sake of a bigger rank increase? It makes no sense.

Wasn’t it leaked on Andy’s stream? I never watched it but heard he did Saka > Son last minute

Wasnt leaked. He did the transfer but still said that he thought Saka would start.

Because people think that moaning about content creators makes them look cool.

Not sure. There’s a surprise coming. “You can’t predict Pep” being teased.

Doesn't surprise me. City rumoured to be interested in selling him on, think he's toast as far as Pep concerned.
