£2.5m, 2 free transfers. Is now the time to welcome back Saka??

    - Martinez & Mbuemo to Hall & Saka

    Team would be

    Verbruggen
    Gabriel Konate Anderson
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Wissa Cunha Raul

    Fabianski Rogers Hall RAN

I would rather ditch Son. Mbeumo is amazing value and is scoring more than Son.

Save up 4-5 FT for when you need to bring Haaland. Son to Johnson, upgrade Rogers, Woods/Jackson/Brighton attacker>Raul, Robinson better than anderson.

Anyone else with a rotating 7th/8th attacker keep getting benching wrong & losing points. Before WC I had winks so always played ESR & got his points.

Since WC been rotating semenyo/ESR & got it wrong last 3 GWs losing out 22 points! When needed sub for Saka in GW9 only got 2 from semenyo anyway

Thinking is it just better to downgrade either semenyo/ESR back to 4.5 so atleast that way which ever one I pick as 7th attacker I always get their points

This is the risk with rotating players (similar with keepers).

Personally think it is worth having a deep squad going into busy fixture period

I have Stewart on my bench, and just play Rogers as my 7th every week.
I have a couple of 4.something Def to come on if needed.
May swap around for a 4.5mid, and use some TAA money to upgrade to a cheapie 6.0 fwd

    Porro
    Kulu Palmer

    Me:
    Sanchez
    .
    Fernandes Johnson

I was think Haaland/Rogers to Jackson/Saka, to then have enough cash to upgrade 1-2 defenders as well. Prob is, marginal gain for Ds so low this season.

Any thoughts on moving to more arsenal coverage?

I too have double Brentford and am pondering whether to hold or move out. I am tempted to hold

Finally the Everton clean sheet revival has obviously been good to you... But is that sustainable?

Everton CS revival depends on whether you think its because they've had players back they didn't have at the start of the season or because they've recently played some really bad attacks and had a bit of luck (Gordon missed penalty for example).

Not my GW unless Bruno (C) hauls. TAA injury is so annoying, too.

    Oh well - TAA + Jimenez -> Hall + Isak (-4)?

    Sanchez
    Gvardiol - Robinson - Hall
    Salah - Palmer - Saka - Bruno - Mbeumo
    Isak - Welbeck

One thing I have realized this season, you get a much better advise here (comment section) than watching the so called experts videos and their decision making processes. I think majority of them have failed terribly this season so far.

Obviously there has been some luck involved for those who have gone against the data and have done well, and also that doesnt mean all so called experts are bad as many are good in this game, but they have swayed many into making bad decisions with the constant advices pumped over the entire week and changing their views and rationale.

I am also one who always thinks that everyone should make their own decisions but these constant hyping up players changes many people minds.

    1. Zalk
      • 14 Years
      1 year, 26 days ago

I follow maybe 3 or 4 of these so called experts and I think most of them do a fine job. Informative, analytical and open with their thought processes. It's far easier leaving a comment here on whatever hunch you have on a player than having to deal with the backlash if you get something wrong in a channel where thousands are watching. You have to own your decisions and suggestions in a different way.

If you feel like you are easily influenced by these managers then I suggest you do your own research. I have zero sympathy for people who blame others for their own decisions or however easily they're being affected by watching videos.

    2. diesel001
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 26 days ago

The decision making processes are fine. Just luck.

Salah gets a goal from a defensive error yesterday. You can't predict that. Wood scores lots of goals from a low xG. You can't predict that. DCL blanks from the same xG as Wood. You can't predict that. Mbeumo scores lots of goals from a low xG. You can't predict that. Fernandes gets no assists or goals from a high xGI. You can't predict that. TAA gets no goals or assists from a high xGI and then gets injured. You can't predict that.

      1. diesel001
        • 9 Years

In most cases with active managers, if you do well it's mostly luck and if you do badly it's mostly luck. The skill element is diminishing every season.

      2. The Mentaculus
        • 4 Years

Can't predict that? Who was the biggest xG underachiever last season? Coincidence?

I mean, I agree with you to some extent. I'm more of a defender of a stats-based game than most, I think, and take your point about variance. But I still think this evaluation based only on expected data looks a bit simplistic e.g. in the case of Wood v DCL. If you didn't know/check, I am referring to DCL as the perennial underachiever here. It is no surprise to me, on the evidence of his finishing, to see him trailing Wood by such a margin

    Sanchez
    RAN Mazraoui Gvardiol
    Salah Palmer Mbuemo Semenyo
    Cunha Wood Haaland

    Fabi Lewis Winks Bednarek
    3FT

Think I'm just about done with Haaland after this week. Can't be carrying 15m on a player performing like a 6m.

Want Saka as the third premium.

Difficulty is there are so many good options at striker. So it's hard to predict who's going to score the most over the next 5/6 games.

No surprise to me that Trent is now looking like yet another fire for me to put out this season. Only once or twice this season have I actually been able to make a planned, tactical transfer. Wanted to do Johnson to Digne next gameweek to strengthen my bench/squad. Doesnt look like I will ever get round to strengthening my bench.

I've jumped too early on injuries several times over the last few weeks, and it turns out the player has 1 week off at most. I've wasted a few FT as I now want those guys back, (Saka, gab)
