Great player, but too rotation-risky for my liking. I'm only bringing in the talismen.

Newcastle is an interesting one. I'd be tempted to say Gordon is their real talisman.

    Gvardiol or Gab?

Not having Gvardiol last season cost me my leagues so I’m leaning towards him for now. But a more balanced viewpoint would be appreciated

Same decision. Leaning towards Gvardiol as probably losing Haaland. And Gab has a long journey back from Brazil.

Why should the journey from Brazil to UK influence your decision to pick Gabriel as a long term option beyond GW12?

feel like they're both flattering to deceive for their price?

Will Arsenal turn the corner on the CS front? Could happen and quickly, but I'd rather see the evidence first

How sustainable is Gvardiol's forward threat? A week after week swashbuckling FB?

I'm maintaing a close eye on both, but reticent to commit

I love how FPL managers like Tom are selling Haaland. It'll be fun to watch to the hits fly as everyone scrambles to get a £15m player back into their teams.

If it wasnt for me trying to defend my mini league lead, id cap him over Salah. I see a lot of content creators posting a gameweek 13 wildcard to accomodate Haaland which includes cheapies like Jao Pedro, Verbruggen, Hall and Timber as Arsenal cover after he rips Tottenham apart

Makes no sense? Very poor judgement. You do realise he's only worth the price tags if he gets double digits almost every week right? You think all pros are just incorrect then? Because most of them don't have Haaland and there's a reason for it

It makes a lot of sense.

The cash spread from not owning Haaland gives a very competitive 11 with substantial point opportunity

That said, a Salah & Haaland draft is quite strong now with Wissa, Pedro, Welbeck, Cunha, and few Man U cheapies looking good value and a load of sub 6 mill forwards

starting to feel abit like 2 seasons ago when the play was to have Haaland, Kane and Salah all season long instead of trying to time their points. i know H, S and Palmer is more expensive this season, but still

If Haaland's numbers had dropped off, it would be a different story, but they are still as scary as ever. It all depends on whether you think a Rodri-free city will struggle all season.

It is true. Haaland's stats are still good in regard to xg and similar. I keep seeing people blame the injuries, but he is still getting the chances, so that argument makes no sense. The issue is with Haaland, not the injuries.

Maybe the death of his friend had a delayed reaction on him.

Clearly City will find form. And when they do, an in form Haaland will haul time and again. I agree with you Virg. Makes no sense not to have him on WC and reassess 3 weeks from now. Hysteria.

No, that’s not it at all actually. I should have given more context. I’m selling Foden for Palmer and need to downgrade Johnson to afford it. Can’t go without Palmer for his fixture run and it leaves me 5.3m itb.

Ah that is a pretty bad situation, its like deciding between being shot or stabbed. Maybe he is the best pick in that bracket. I wouldn't over emphasis pens though, most mid-table or low teams hardly get any and miss half. Fulham for example got like 2/3 pens last season and missed 1 if I remember correctly.

Although its slim pickings and no stand out options, there are some other considerations. Traore, Caicedo, Amad, Adingra?

I don't follow those players, but maybe there is a good pick there.

Thanks for the feedback. They have done well, I don’t think he is a bad punt at that price point personally. I think Amad could emerge as the pick of the budget enablers if starting regularly but I don’t want to look at it until we have a better picture of Amorims plans.

5.3 budget is pretty rough, Rogers at 5.4 would be the best pick but just out of reach.
Damsgaard or Andreas look like they are reasonably nailed and might be other options. Fatawu has 3 x 90 minutes in the last few games for Leicester. But it is pretty thin pickings donw at the bottom of this barrel...

Do you think Conor Bradley be in starting 11 now?

Depends on Trent injury but not long term

Could be two weeks from when he got injury which would mean he might be back for Southampton yet.

I think he gets Southampton then Trent is back for Madrid and City.

Concerning JP. What has he done to deserve so much hype? Remember how nailed he was at the start, just feels like another FOMO pick by many. Minutes not guaranteed. Sub 5.0m midfielders are definitely better, would rather invest there.

Delap, Evanilson, Raul are probably better than Pedro imo

Disagree with you there. Has been out with an injury and is guaranteed minutes. Probably not 90 every game but is guaranteed minutes. Embarking on a great fixture run and on penalties. Great enabler at that price, check out Hurzelers comments after the City game

Good info. Thanks! Maybe I’m being ignorant here. Will place him as one to monitor for the time being until he proves to be a threat. The intl duty is also a reason why I wouldn’t rush the move if interested.

I think a lot of people going off Hurzelers quote about him being a talisman for them. He won't play 90 every week but plays for a better team than a lot of the other cheapies.

I need to go back and find this press conference/post-match interview if I can. I think people might be making too much out of what he's said if he was asked a direct question about JP rather than offering that quote himself without any leading. Its like if you ask him a question about Welbeck he's probably going to be quite positive in it and you can spin whatever he says there however you want. Ultimately he's unlikely to start randomly talking about a player without being asked about them is what I'm getting at here. All that said JP is a good option provided he stays fit, I'm not too worried about the minutes. He did miss a fair chunk last season.

Fixtures are a big part of it. Brighton have a great fixture run coming up.

Thanks Lads. Will monitor so as not to be completely ignorant. Nice fixtures for early buyers.

Would you do this for free considering that Haaland has Spurs this weekend

    Haaland & McNeil > Isak & Palmer

    Any ideas would be welcomed

Unlikely to happen, but a few postponements this GW due to the snow could make FPL interesting.

    Who is a better pick:

    A. Amad (knowing that there is no certainty whether he’ll be a regular starter)

    B. Buonanotte (knowing that he’ll miss the Chelsea game so need to play a bench player in that GW)

Either will be used as my 7th attacker in a 3-4-3 formation.

Of those 2 Buonanotte, Amad could easily never play for Amorim if Bruno has one inside forward slot and its Garnacho/Rashford/Amad for 1 spot.

      Damsgard also 5.0?

Don't rule out Rashford as #9 over Hoijlund if he impresses this week. Of course players still to come back from IB.

    Yoro Evans Shaw
    Antony Casemiro Mainoo Malacia
    Amad Rashford Mount

Yeah nearly half of them just back from injuries! More to keep an eye on the ones fit enough to start like Rashford

Yeah, buzzing about all the returns. I think the front 3 could be any 3 of Bruno, Rashford, Hojlund or Amad (assuming Garnacho gets back late).

Mount, Malacia and Shaw will find some way to get injured between now and Sunday.
