Pedro back in midfield again. I'm really starting to dislike him as an asset. Plays too deep.

He is a 10, let's hope he can get into some good positions on the counter.

He normally plays as a 10 and got returns from there in previous games

Hit the bar from deep v Everton. Still a dangerous asset as a 10, especially for his price.

If he was classified as a midfielder it would be fine him playing in midfield but you dont really want a forward playing in that position. He always gets subbed off early as well. Don't think I will be keeping him for long to be honest.

FPL Harry took a look at the new bonus points system and concluded that forwards are getting bonus points more consistently this season when they score, so even if JP plays a little deeper there may still be an advantage

Not looked into it, but the early sub thing may be temporary with him being not long back from injury. Brighton do have a lot of attackers though so maybe not.

Urgh, Watkins (C) on the bench yesterday.

Gabriel & Greaves not playing, leaving me with only RAN and Dalot at the back....this gameweek can just end now 🙂

Gabriel is starting to become an issue. Sick of the vague updates from that clown Arteta so we never have anything definitive. Don't really want to sell him but can't have him missing every week.

If he's not in the CL squad, I think I'll just use one of my 2 FTs and transfer him out.

Down to 10. A bench of Greaves and Faes isn’t the best Gabriel cover it turns out.

VdB is the only 4.0m def that can be trusted for starts but Brentford defence is still poor

Yeah I had a look at him but he’s not even worth a transfer. Gonna have to generate some upgrade money from somewhere. Hopefully Gabriel is back next week

I swapped greaves for faes. 2 wasted transfers if I then change faes again. I would need to get 8 points out of a 3rd sub over Xmas period to break even.

    The Exact Money Bias

I have come to see that I am particularly susceptible to this.

Last week I had the exact money to transfer Rogers for Rashford. This would have given be a midfield of Salah, Palmer, Saka, Fernades, Rashford

Fresh off a Rashford brace and the promise of a new United era, the transfer looked delicious and irresistible.

The fact that I had the exact money for the trade made it all the more exciting, as if the universe had decided this must be the fate of my team.

Fortunately, I delayed just long enough to be priced out and I banked a transfer. Two games later and my appetite for Rashford has waned significantly.

When I think back, I have to confess that many times I have fallen for this trap, thinking that exact money = inevitable. That it’s a message from the universe. Usually, it goes badly.

I think this goes some way to explaining why I traditionally do quite badly in the opening gameweeks. I obsess over my starting lineup, looking to extract maximum value from my starting 11 as if trying to crack a secret code. As if I’ll never make another transfer for the rest of the season.

There is no doubt that fantasy football is to a large degree about fining value for money, but this drive can also work against you, when the numbers deceive you into thinking a trade is good, when in fact it may not be.

I’ll try to remember this when I have exact money for future trades. Would I still do this if I have 0.5 left in the bank?
