It’s not too late to set up a Sleeper Fantasy FC draft league with your mates and, with so many Premier League matches about to take place, a high-intensity contest could be a lot of fun.

There have been three rounds of matches since our previous catch-up on Fantasy Football Scout’s staff draft. So, before the Christmas chaos gets underway, let’s take a look at how it’s going.

Sleeper is a popular app now branching into Premier League football after several years of hosting US sports contests.

Liked for its chat facilities and attractive design, Sleeper can be downloaded on Apple and Android devices.

SCOUT SLEEPER DRAFT UPDATE

What is Sleeper + how can you join our free Pick'em league? 1

First, here are the 10 competitors:

  • Sam Bonfield – General Manager, half of FPL Family and a regular on Sky Sports News
  • Chris James – CEO of Scout, ‘El Fozzie’ hosts our Spaces on X
  • Neale Rigg – Editor who does a bit of line-up predicting on the side
  • Tom Freeman – Deputy Editor, a differential specialist and five-time top 1k finisher
  • Marc Jobling – Staff Writer who is now the Goals Imminent podcast co-host
  • Ian (FPL Partridge) – Social Media Manager, formerly of the FPL Partridge ‘X’ account
  • Tom Johnson – Multimedia Manager, began with Ian but recently expanded into video
  • Ed Gray – Strategic Advisor, UCL podcast co-host and creator of Fantasy Football Fest
  • Louis Roberts – Fantasy Football Community Staff Writer and master of many formats
  • Scott Worrall – Social Media Executive, the newest recruit and an EFL Fantasy contributor

And this is how Matchday 16 played out:

How the Scouts fared in the latest Sleeper draft league fixtures 4

Ed recorded the biggest score, thanks to brilliant performances from his first two draft picks Alexander Isak (34.0) and Son Heung-min (34.5). In a competitive clash with Chris, he also needed hauls from Cody Gakpo (20.0) and Morgan Gibbs-White (19.0). Marc recorded the biggest victory over Sam, whilst the tightest had Louis defeat first-placed Tom F.

In fact, Louis is the only manager with a perfect record since the previous update. He wasn’t initially around on draft day and raised eyebrows when his first six auto-picked players were all midfielders. Well nobody is laughing now – that’s five consecutive victories. James Maddison, Noni Madueke and Amad Diallo are doing a fine job.

However, Scott is experiencing a Manchester City-like freefall. After winning three of the initial four match-ups, a poor midfield has meant he’s lost eight of the following nine.

MATCHDAY 17

How the Scouts fared in the latest Sleeper draft league fixtures 5

At the time of writing, two managers have adjusted their roster in preparation for the next round of games.

Neale has pounced upon Ismaila Sarr‘s good form and appealing upcoming fixtures, also adding Jacob Murphy to his attacking arsenal.

He faces Chris, while Sam’s purchase of Martin Dubravka is her way of preparing to take on table-topping Tom F. It’s a tough task though, as he owns Mohamed Salah, Bryan Mbeumo, Josko Gvardiol and Enzo Fernandez.

Elsewhere, Louis aims to reach six-in-a-row against last-placed Ian.

Will we find out before the deadline if Cunha will play against Leicester or is banned?

As an owner I just want to know today/tomorrow so I can plan my transfers accordingly.

Quite happy for him to be banned for what he did, which was tantamount to assault, but just let everyone know so we know where we stand.

Think so, too. Not likely that ban comes on a Saturday, and would be unfair to make WOL prepare for the game as he should play, and then just before or after the deadline get the message that Cunha can`t play

Seems inevitable - was charged, given until yesterday to make his case... and have you seen the video? Looks easily a 3-match ban - doesn't need much deliberation. Can see the decision coming today but I'll be moving him on regardless

It could be a 5 match ban easily enough

There's aggravating factors, it wasn't during the course of play or to a player and grabbing the glasses is a no no ...

Saka seems overpriced to me - not a captain option compared to Salah and Palmer. But good fixtures coming up.

I own him but tbh a few more lackluster showings and Im gonna strongly consider binning after Ipswich at home

That said switching to Ode seems bad. If you want Arsenal coverage and believe in them as a team then Saka is the one to have. If you dont believe they will be free flowing attackingly to justify price then Ode is also overpriced compared to alternatives.

Uh oh, they’re forcing Skonto to play Sleeper! The others are no-names and therefore irrelevant but haven’t they learned the lesson from the time they forced Geoff to play the execrable Soare? He wasn’t able to provide any updates because he lost so quickly, became traumatised by the whole thing, and left! Imagine FFS without Skonto!

Although, I never understood that scene. If three previous people had won “The Running Man”, then why was it a big deal that Arnie’s character was going to win it. He was supposed to be the only contestant in the show’s history to ever complete the course. That’s what made him special.

    Sup folks

I'm lining up my 2FTs to use in GW18, which of these would you say is the best option??

    A) Gabriel (IPS, bre, bha, TOT, AST) - Best defender in the game imo however arsenal looking poorer plus more difficult fixtures, allows me to get Munoz in GW19.

    B) Gvardiol (EVE, lei, WHU, bre, ips) - Weaker City team defensively this season but much cleaner fixtures and gvardiol quite attacking, also allows me to get Munoz in GW19.

    C) TAA (LEI, whu, MUN, nfo, bre) - Sound liverpool defence with decent fixtures and could explode in any of them, however doesn't allow me to get Munoz in GW19.

    D) Other defenders not considered here?

    Cheers!

The main way to get Isak and Iwobi is to sell Wissa and Mbeumo with 2 ft and £1m itb.

Is that an easy roll this week? With Forest at home for Brentford.

It means Pedro plays with Semenyo the 8th attacker benched.

It is tempting ... or should I just forget about Isak and switch Semenyo to Iwobi, with Pedro benched?

This would leave Jackson to Isak as the merry-go-round transfer next time out. Or even this week and hold both Brentford boys.

    1. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year

      Just roll.
Isak is good, but I'd keep Mbeumo/Wissa for at least 1 more game. And I'd have no interest in selling Jackson either.

        Yeah

        The sensible option ...

I was tempted with Iwobi and Isak and sacrificing Jackson when I planted that thought, but beyond this week Chelsea have great fixtures and Newcastle have some tougher games in gw18-20. Albeit I bet Isak scores against Villa and possibly in the away games too.

Staying away from Isak until mid Jan in gw21 is less than ideal. I'm doing okay most weeks with green arrows but not really making ground without the Isak points on top.

    Hi guys,

I finished 8th in the Members league last season and was supposed to have won a year of membership, but I saw that my account was still debited from the membership fee.

Tried to contact FFScout support, but haven't managed to get a reply in weeks now.

Trying my luck here. Is there anybody that can help me sort this out around here?

    1. Ahh, that old oxymoron "FFS Support".

Good luck with getting it resolved 🙂

If Cunha is banned: (otherwise probably next gameweek)
A - Wood (Nouri to Munoz in GW18) so Wood + Munoz
B - Raul (Nouri to Gvardiol in GW 18) so Raul + Gvardiol

Want to get Isak but ideally don't want to lose Trent or Bruno. I'm assuming Cunha will be banned for a least a game

    Raya (Fab)
    Gabriel Trent Robinson (Kerkez Greaves)
    Salah Palmer Saka Bruno Rogers
    Evanilson Pedro (Cunha)

    2FT 0.1ITB

    A: Cunha Rogers Raya --> Isak Dibling Areola/Dubravka/3.9m (-4)
B: Cunha --> Raul and get Isak later
C: Use Trent to get Isak
D: Cunha Bruno --> Isak Diallo
E: Roll and start Evanilson and Rogers

    Thanks for any help

    Hi all 2FT 0.2ITB

Was a bad transfer of Isak to Jackson before Liverpool game and Isak scoring every game since but was thinking of rolling unless Cunha gets a ban then favouring A

    A) Cunha to Wood
    B) Mbeumo to Diallo and Cunha to Isak

    Flekken
    Gabriel, Colwill, Kerkez
    Salah, Palmer, Saka, Mbeumo
    Jackson, Cunha, Pedro
    Rogers, Dalot, Greaves

    Sanchez

The Choudhury Trap! That M5 spot is so useful and you've sunk a 4.3 into it with not enough funding to escape, ouch! Not a bad XI mind with Myko as a useful 12th. Roll with a view to replacing Greaves.

Yea I'd agree with that Choudhury ain't ideal atal, but it allows for a midfield like I have, if I can get over Christmas and into January I can look at it them with a wildcard

It's a balancing act if you have both Trent & Bruno and quite frankly not many squads can take the strain. Makes for interesting decisions though.

If Wolves know that though they will appeal and that's the important bit. They won't appeal, then later that afternoon go have a cuppa, sit down and they hear the grounds for an appeal. No, it will be pushed into next week.

Tuesday - Thursday was for the club to respond to the misconduct charge which is plain to see.

The decision has likely been made and it's just that the ball has been in the clubs court (Wolverhampton Wanderers) to respond to the charges.

There's no reasonable response. Unless they play for time with the Leicester game in mind but risk a longer ban.

Yeah I was thinking that as well - I guess Trent should make way (wasted transfer but I have 3 FT + WC intact) so considering these

            A) Cunha + Trent + Ait Nouri > Jackson + Gabriel + def.fodder
            B) Cunha + Trent + Ait Nouri > Jackson + Colwill + Kerkez/Milenkovic
            C) Cunha + Trent > Isak + Colwill
            D) Cunha + Trent + Ait Nouri > Isak + Timber + def.fodder
            E) Cunha + Trent > Jackson + Timber

Not a fan of Mateta tbh
