My work Last Man Standing is getting to the latter stages and I need your advice...

My realistic choices this week are:

    Bournemouth (vs Wolves)
    Spurs (vs Ipswich)
    Villa (vs Chelsea)
    Brighton (vs Southampton)
Newcastle or Forrest (toss up but would lean towards Forest)

Currently I think I will go for Bournemouth....

Any insight would be much appreciated!

I'm fairly certain that I won't be getting Haaland.

Cunha/Isak/Wood seems like the ideal front 3.

I'd also like to be able to create the best possible BB team which is very difficult with Haaland.

You can also put Saka into the mix assuming he returns next month.

Have 1ft. Would you do Cunha in for Gakpo this GW or wait a week and re-assess?
Would like to just jump in on him but it would give a benching headache + the fixture not as spicy this week.

Will probably lose value if I wait too long tho.
Cunha almost def coming in at some stage soon anyway with a fixture in 29 to boot. Would bench Hall if I bring Cunha in..

    Raya.
    TAA, Gabriel, Robinson, Hall.
    Rogers, Salah, Mbuemo, Palmer, Nwaneri.
    Isak.
    Pick, Greaves, Gakpo, Ndiaye.
1ft, 0.3m ITB. Asst Man- Emery (1 GW left).

I am in a similar boat. I have brought him in this week and benching Rogers.

Slot said about managing minutes. Would imagine he only gets 30-45 mins this weekend, and it's against MCI so I did the Xfer now.

  16. _Greg
    • 15 Years
    9 months, 18 days ago

Interesting comments about Darwin in the presser. Suffice to say he won't be starting at the weekend. Doubt he even gets on the pitch. Problem is you couldn't trust Diaz and Jota to both start either after last night. Probably best for Gakpo owners to get out now, he's not trained with the team yet, possibly trains today but not guaranteed.

    1. Rhysd007
      • 13 Years

Problem with Darwin is he's such a confidence player. I'm confident he will miss every chance.

Seriously tho - doesn't even start when Gakpo is injured can't be great for the confidence. Gakpo > Cunha for me. GLGL

Yeah, I'm probably holding off this week as can bench - selling Rogers for Dango.

Even though his expected points are better, it will be sod's law that Cunha does better.

One issue with the SOU game is, will he start, considering:

      04/03 - UCL R16 Leg 1
      08/03 - Southampton
      11/03 - UCL R16 Leg 2
16/04 - Newcastle (League Cup Final

UCL will actually be either 3rd/4th & either 11th/12th. Just simplified to visualise better above.

LIV do get a bit of a break between the NEW game on 25th Feb & UCL due to no FA Cup involvement, but that period then has fixture congestion.

Basically if there's one game you can afford to miss slightly more, it's Southampton...!

I might hold him for NEW as Cunha plays Fulham that week, which is also tough right now (but Cunha did get 16 pints earlier this season, lol.) - but I'll be looking when is best to jump off.

Salah is absolutely ridiculous this season. I don't think we've really realized how insane his output has been, or at least we take it for granted.

271 points with 12 games to go is just unreal. He could blank the rest of the season and make it to 300 points if you throw in a few clean sheet points.

He's gonna smash the all time single season points record provided he stays healthy. And this week he's playing one of the worst City teams in recent years, missing Akanji and Stones, with Haaland also looking out. Furthermore, his record against City reads 6g/4a in his last 9 games against in the league dating back to 2020.

Why is anyone even thinking of captaining someone else?

BPS changes have worked in his favour, but regardless looking likely he'll beat his best G/A tally regardless of that fact.

Nope - I am not considering captaining anyone else this GW.

If Mbeumo had done more the last two weeks I maybe would, but there's a 60% Salah gets a double digit haul every week thus far.

Would rather not bet against that when it's City who have really been struggling, next.

People who are chasing try usually something stupid far too early. Result is known, they have to target top 1 million after that 😉

Transfer out for Glasner or Pereira.

I have a weird gut feeling about going Pereira since I've been impressed by Wolves' recent performances. But most likely I'll go Glasner and go with the odds.

I don't like going for Arteta or like Hurzeler. The upside isn't worth the transfer. Would rather just keep Slot.

Anyone else go Slot AM in GW24 and now have table bonus FOMO. Moving to Glasner is tempting but it would be the ultimate trolling if he lost to Fulham.

I’m not sure that’s ultimate trolling, very possible they lose to Fulham

Fulham are clear favourites, bookies give money 3.75x back should CP win. Wasting transfer to probably waste more points doesn't cause any fomo to me.

Still undecided. Liverpool defending has been sloppy and January signings have probably improved MCI. I personally wouldn't be surprised to see Fulham winning, especially if Eze is a doubt. So I am thinking Arteta more tha Glasner, but only one ft and Rogers to Dango is tempting.
