To be honest I am more of a GAA (dublin football /not soccer) supporter. Blue Wave five in a row 2019 or should I be tempting faith by writing it? I also like watching the hurling too.I find the fantasy football (soccer) stuff a bit of craic.

I was just wondering am I a dying breed a person who actually watches football games and who plays fantasy football? I was watching a video with Joe and David - salivating over stats for preseason! Then Joe comes out with the throw away comment - "famously Simon March won fpl by not watching games" - purely stats. He continued "The game is mostly about stats mostly not watching it - which is just a part of it" I have the feeling there was a lot of confirmation bias in that statement as I assume most who win fpl/or do well in it watch the games as well? I remember Joe also admitted that he rarely watches an actual game when they are on live - so he is obviously heavily stats based. It was clearly evidenced last year when David got hung up on the 'underlying stats' of Salah through his dry run and lost ground. Watching the games would have told a different story. It seems watching the games or the now termed 'eyetest' seems to be almost 'maverick' or not seen as relevant as stats.… » Read

I am going without Salah and Sterling - treble Liverpool defence for the first few fixtures Then probably phase in the bargain Chelsea/West Ham Leicester/Villa lads. 4-3-3 Ryan (button) ♦ VVD-Robertson-TAA-Coleman-(Azpileceuta) ♦ Fraser-Sigurdsson-KDB-(Dendocker-Trybull) ♦ Wilson-King-Kane » Read

Is Cicharito a good pick now since Arnautovic is off to pastures new? Great value at 6.0? Nice fixtures. Or are West Ham likely to splash out on a striker that will put him down the pecking order again? » Read

Well I have Azpilicueta on as my first sub (maybe for the first two fixtures) After that they look great from gw3 There are loads of potential Chelsea options at thier prices Whoever starts as striker, Loads of midfield options Willian CHO/RLC They are all midtable prices or tailsiman promoted team prices » Read

I like it to be honest. Similar to mine except I went 4-3-3 gw1 KDB instead of sterling and have Wilson up front as well. Treble liverpool defence is the way to go for the first five gameweeks. You need to plan a rough exit strategy though after that. » Read

  10. Why it's hard to trust Arsenal assets in 2019/20 12 days, 13 hours ago

I agree I have avoided both Salah, Mane, and Sterling in my favoured draft. Kane is a great set and forget option. But then again I am liable to captain anyone who I think will score well in any given gameweek - defenders-midfielders etc. I just think the value is not there with Sterling and Salah. Until cheaper defensive options like - Christensen/Zinchencko/4.0's emerge, I will not be getting them. Probably wildcard by then anyway. » Read

Staying fairly the same barring three changes here and there. I started looking ahead at gw5 on to see can I get my price points right (for roughly moving towards options) Looking at the potential of Lacazette gw6 onwards for example. How to get Chelsea lads in as well maybe Leicester/West Ham and the defensive bargains. I think it is important to play fpl like snooker and have rough plans leaving a pattern of options. You don't want just one needs to be flexible. » Read

I will most likely go treble pool defence (can't get away from it with those fixtures) I plan to keep the liverpool treble defence for 5 gameweeks - gamble on a tight Arsenal game. 19. Zaha among the most appealing mid-price FPL midfield options 13 days, 4 hours ago

There is a great bit on Drimic's wiki page - Early life - "Drmić was born to Croatian parents in Lachen in the canton of Schwyz, and is a dual national.[5] "He applied for Swiss nationality at the age of 16, taking the exam three times in front of commissioners in his home village of Freienbach. On the second attempt, he was rejected because he knew more about Zürich, where he had spent six years in a football school, than the village. He then hired a lawyer who made the case that this was acceptable as Zürich is nearby and of importance to the community." It sounds like he blagged his way into Switzerland! » Read
