Same in my league. The two guys on top never come close to challenging for the title and this year they're clear on top. They pulled away at the start of the season and nobody could claw them back. » Read

It looks that way. dont understand what everyone is banging on about. The announcement reads that GW36 will start on Tuesday May 11 with southampton v palace and continue through to Sunday May 16. Twelve games will be played including the two games that need re-scheduling. GW 37 has now been pushed back and falls mid-week on May 18 and 19, but outside of that remains unchanged. GW 35 also remains unchanged. » Read

  6. Why I'm looking at Mason Greenwood and Ricardo Pereira as FPL differentials 22 days, 6 hours ago

There's no relegation or promotion in the A-league cos there isn't a second division! Who is to be promoted?? And let's not compare the A-league to the highest echelons of the game that will form ESL. » Read

  8. Spurs sack Mourinho as De Bruyne is ruled out of City's Gameweek 32 match 23 days, 8 hours ago

Deco, Ferreira and Carvalho followed him to Chelsea. I also remember Materazzi (from memory) breaking down and crying when Mourihno left Inter for Madrid. I remember his early teams being very united and loyal to him. » Read

Casillas was one example at Madrid. Mata was another one he didn't treat well in his second spell at Chelsea. De Bruyne and Lukaku also got hung out to dry but they weren't high profile players back then. Before that I don't remember it ever happening at his first spell with Chelsea, Porto or Inter. If anything he had complete loyalty from his players in his early years. » Read

Exactly. I hate what they are doing but I get it from their point of view. All the pre-season friendlies around the world are sold out. The brands of these clubs has grown well beyond the domestic level. If they can take their brands to the international markets it will be a massive cash cow for them. In comparison the existing model hinders them financially imo. I'm in Oz and like you understand that if say a couple of games per year would be played in Sydney they would sell-out in minutes and the media attention would be immense. We don't get world class players playing here but the interest in the game is very strong. Imagine what it's like in places like Asia and North America. The commercial opportunities in these places would be second to none for the clubs. » Read

  11. Premier League fixture announcement awaited after Leicester reach FA Cup final 23 days, 9 hours ago

The sooner the better for them. The new model is similar to the American franchise model I reckon. They'll be chomping at the bits to get teams from China, Dubai, New York, etc in. It would be in their financial interests to take it global and make it prime-time. So that would mean weekend games which Wenger was banging on about a few years back. It will be the only show in town if that happens and all the best players in the world will be playing in the same twenty or thirty teams in the one league. So by default this will crush the brand power of domestic leagues and international football I reckon. » Read

  12. Lingard limps off as Cresswell absence affects West Ham's attack and defence 24 days, 17 hours ago

I mean when looking at the premium players the likes of KdB, Sterling, Mahrez, Aubamayang, Lacazette any Chelsea attacker except Mount, etc are too risky. As a result folks will gravitate toward a much smaller pool of players to put in their team and captain eg Kane, Fernandes, Salah. Having that extra transfer would allow for people to take more risks on players who maybe aren't as nailed as some others and if it doesn't work out it is much easier to remove them » Read

Could also throw Arteta in there. I've been saying for a couple of years that there should be two free transfers per week in FPL. Teams are increasingly becoming more reliant on a wider squad these days. Having the extra free transfer each week would provide folks more flexibility. » Read

  14. How many Spurs assets are the Scout Network considering for DGW32? 28 days, 10 hours ago

Possibly. Sounds familiar but don't recall. Along with that one pound comes hundreds of millions in debt though (or whatever it was) so the £1 is a symbolic amount as there needs to be a tangible amount in any corporate transaction. It's about the taking on the debts. It was a similar story with Abramovic if I remember right. Chelsea was going bust if it wasn't for Abramovic and a famous Jasper Gronkjaer goal that got us into the champions league in the season before: https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/chelseas-1-billion-goal-how-gronkjaers-winner-against/14p9wnk4yhx0o1v7x2r27lgaft » Read

  15. How many Spurs assets are the Scout Network considering for DGW32? 28 days, 11 hours ago

A lot if you think about it. The money that has been pumped into the club hasn't been just on marquee players for the men's team. It's gone into getting the set-up right including the academy to produce players, training facilities, and women's structure. And with that the on-field successes have followed growing the Chelsea brand. Also, we won the UEFA cup winners cup in 1971 and 1997 prior to Abramovic. FA Cup x 3, League Cup x 2, League once in 1955. Yes, the money has transformed the club but the money that has been spent has returned success on the pitch ie a good return on investment. Chelsea is worth bucket loads more than it was when Abramovic bought it. » Read

Money shmoney. Man Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and others have also spent big bucks over the years and yet Chelsea is the one that cops the crap about it. Sure, the money has transformed the club but the successes we have had on the field in the modern era have not been matched by others. We have a winning culture embedded throughout our entire set-up: League x 5: 2005, 2006, 2010, 2015, 2017 Champions League: 2012 Europa League x 2: 2013, 2019 UEFA Cup Winners Cup: 1998 FA Cup x 7: 1997, 2000, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2018 League Cup x 4: 1998, 2005, 2007, 2015 UEFA Super Cup: 1998 Charity Shield x 3: 2000, 2005, 2009 Then there's women: League x 4: 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020 FA Cup x 2: 2015, 2018 League Cup x 2: 2020, 2021 Community Shield: 2020 Then there's the youth: FA Cup x 7: 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 UEFA Youth League x 2: 2015, 2016 Just saying. » Read
