FFS Cup

Paddy Power Cup V – The Last 16

A few weeks back, over 2200 registered and now we are down to the last 16 of the Paddy Power Cup V. They’ve come through seven stages and are two victories away from playing for a prize. The draw for the next round has been and looks a lot like this…

1RaasclartVs.Mr Bungle
2mendersVs.CSKA AWFUL
3NattVs.Declan
4Der-Hammer95Vs.Sc8tt26
5soulman27Vs.runty
6ChickenDevilVs.Timmy Loving
7VereWinnerVs.sleepingmaster
8Bruce BaerVs.Funkyav

Top-seed, and 181st in the world, Der-Hammer95 has a tough assignment against 1,241st overall Sc8tt26. Of course at this stage of the competition there’s no easy games. In fact, there are only two teams with less than 1,000 points.

As luck would have it, those two Fantasy managers yet to hit four-digits have been matched together. 250k in the world VereWinner takes on 127k in the world sleepingmaster.

Last week’s top-scorer, Mr Bungle, once again finds himself as the away team in the first fixture of the round. There’s obviously no disadvantage to coming out of the hat second, and Mr Bungle actually has the effective lead going into his game with Raasclart. The 83 points between them means the ‘visitors’ will go through with a draw.

All ties will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 19, good luck to all!

Please note – with such a short turnaround from Gameweek 19 to Gameweek 20, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Quarter-Finals until Gameweek 21. This will ensure that the draw can be made and published well in advance of any deadline – it will also remove the double gameweek fixtures as a factor and bring the January wildcard into play for the last eight.

yay another easy match for my Cup game!

My opponent hasn't changed his team since week 1 and has Gyan (captain) and Alumnia (VC)

I just got through the door after my journey back from my parents. 3 letters from HM Revenue & Customs. Apparently, I've overpaid tax for 3 separate years. They're refunding me £4065.

I realise none of you will probably care, but I feel like I've taken 3 pills of ecstasy. Sent to me from the mid 1980's.

    YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH....!!

Its a case that I shouldn't have paid them in the first place I think. They were making me pay, despite the fact that as a student, I was earning within my allowance.

Just heard the Smalling news. As a non Rooney owner this can only be good news since it means Jones definitely plays centre back along with Carrick or Rio while there's no chance Giggs will start 3 matches in one week. Looks like SAF may have no choice but to put Rooney deep again.

Last few gw have been meh. I plan to bring in BAE for either er Evans or Senderos but other than that, hows it look? Any differentials people are talking about? Teams are really starting to look similar so its getting harder to catch up to those ahead on me in the overall league.

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Enrique Jones Evans Vermaelen (Senderos)

BAE is the best option in Spurs defence. Not sure Dawson will get straight back in the team - Spurs have a lot of competitions at CB.

Play Ba as he seems to be scoring no matter who he's up against and yossi will almost certainly not get a full game as his cardio isn't upto it. Shotton over simpson cause why not?

Your welcome sir. Its a nice problem to have but honestly the equity of playing either is probably so close it really wouldn't matter who you went with.

Maybe but you can't predict the result just like this GW where many dead teams rose out of their graves to haunt other teams.

not too worried. I had a great week last week and can't see myself going out to somebody who has muamba in their side.

I went out 59-67 to someone who was at least playing. I just looked who they are facing this week and it's a zombie team that also got 67, 34 of those from Berba (c). I had a good cup run last year though so I don't mind.

There are punts and then there are 90 yard field goal attempts. You'd need to be very desperate to go for Fuller.

opponent ranked 18,787. Im screwed. 🙁

    differentials:

ME: Krul(Vorm), Jagielka, Drenthe, Nani, Sturridge

HIM: Vorm(Ruddy), Vermaelen, Jones, Walters, Rooney

Im screwed right? Id rather have Verm than Jags, rather have jones than drenthe, rather have rooney than sturridge. Id rather have nani than walters but wouldnt be the least surprised if walters had a better day.

So based on this, I need to start Krul and captain Nani, what say you?

I'd start Vorm and (C) Sturridge... but it is a minor punt. (And given my punting exp. It's a risk to take my advice.)

That is the only risk (although it is quite a significant one). Got burned by the Baines penalty last week, don't want it to happen again.

Shamefully, the main logic for bringing in Ramires was that I'm going to the next two Chelsea games, and I didn't want to sit through both games without any Chelsea FPL players. Ramires was the only one I could realistically get this week.

He's not a bad punt tbf though, just hoping Lampard doesn't start many of the next few games! 😀
