The Weekend Team News

Vincent Kompany faces a late fitness test ahead of City’s trip to Chelsea, though Gael Clichy remains unavailable. Wayne Rooney is available for United after a recent bout of tonsillitis. Nani’s twanged hamstring keeps him on the sidelines, while Sir Alex Ferguson is still uncertain as to whether Jonny Evans will be ready for the visit of QPR.

Villa welcome back Darren Bent and Eric Lichaj ahead of Arsenal’s visit tomorrow evening, while Swansea look to have hopeful Ki Sung-Yeung back in their squad, which could see Michu move up front again. Danny Graham and Luke Moore are struck by illness but Ben Davies has reportedly recovered and is available.

As the injuries rack up for Newcastle, Alan Pardew is optimistic that Papiss Cisse has a “good chance” of recovering from the thigh problem that forced him off in last night’s Europa League match with Maritimo, though Shola Ameobi is a real doubt with a groin injury. James Perch and Jonas Gutierrez have trained ahead of Sunday’s clash.

We’ve collected all this and squeezed it into our team news section and added our current predicted lineups for the weekend ahead. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

I had to sacrifice baines as after tomorrow i can see alot of 1 or 2 point returns and my 2 of my starting defs play for solid teams and caiulker offer decent goal threat.

Rooney for Ba is a no brainer as newcastle have tough matches after saints match and injurys are mounting.

        Hope its the right move

It's interesting being newish to this site, trying to figure out what is the best way to phrase a question so that it will actually get a response...

then sometimes you just see someone asking :RMT: and they get pages of replies.... hard to figure out how to do it. I am going to try rephrase my boring defender question in a way that might provoke interest. Any suggestions how to rephrase it please fire away....

Its funny - you quite often see people ask a question, then 1 minute later they respond to the question directly above theirs....

You seem to have found out how to get replies now! It appears that first provoking a discussion about totally random subjects gets people interested - now is the time to throw in the defender question!
Play Ivanovic, bench Simpson, McCartney (in that order). I fancy Newcastle for a clean sheet for some reason.

The other night while watching the City/RM game the camera switched to three men in the crowd. I was thinking to myself who's the little old man in the black hat and heavy black coat and what is the significance of having the camera pointed at him..

Could not believe the little old man was Fergie!

i have to admit he is a good manager but i'm going to whinge. he cant say his L's which is just frankly stupid. ha claps like a girl. when he says something nice about another team its only so he can have a dig at them in the same sentence like ' they played well all credit to them, a team like that need their rays of hope sometimes'

I have noticed that my last few transfers (and next planned couple) are all defensive ones. Been boring ones!! Anyone else in the same boat...?

This week and the next few will be. This week I did Wilson to ShawX and will also be looking at getting rid of Rangel, Foster and possibly Hangeland

*Should I do A) Ridgewell -> Shorey or B) Ridgewell -> Jones this gameweek

    A) means Bale -> Silva in gwk 14 & Tevez -> Suarez gwk 15..

    B) means Cazorla -> Walcott in gwk 14 & Tevez -> Suarez gwk 15..

I would really appreciate some input. Ridgewell is basically a make weight for Suarez in gwk 15..

It's a tough one VIPs - tbh I don't really like any of your options. I'd sacrifice either Fellaini or Michu to a cheaper mid to fund the Suarez move, personally.

Anyone care to suggest what to do with this team please? I'm stuck after numerous sh*tty weeks, even though I don't think it's that bad a team.

    Begovic - Jussi
    Baines - Rafael - Ridgewell - Demel - Cameron
    Hazard - Valencia - Fellaini - Michu - Sterling
    RVP - Fletcher - Berbatov

Best 4 mids for the next SIX gameweeks, on form and fixtures...???

    1) Cazorla
    2) Bale
    3) Michu
    4) Tony V

    What do we think?

      Not Michu.

Fair enough, good form, but not good fixtures and he will probably miss one of the next 6 through suspension.

    I got Sterling at 4.5. Now he's 5.5. Selling price is 5.0.

Is it worth replacing sterling to puncheon now , 0.5 profit ?? Discuss

Fixtures favour Pool and Raheem is starting to find his feet. I expect more attacking returns from him n the next few games. Keep him.

Any chances of Kun starting this week considering that he's played the CL game???

+ it's vs Chelsea... Hardly a game to rest one of your key players in. I reckon he won't start on Wed if Mancini is he'll bent on giving him a breather.

More chances created than any other player in Europe, including mid fielders and strikers. He is also on set pieces and pens and has access to CSs. I'm keeping, i like 6pt goals 😀
