Captain Sensible – Gameweek 17

Yes, we know this week’s battle for the armband is done and dusted. With 86% of the votes cast, Luis Suarez is the undisputable favourite as Liverpool prepare for the visit of Cardiff on Saturday. The Uruguayan is hunting his fifth successive double-figure haul at Anfield and it’ll be a brave, or perhaps desperate, Fantasy manager who goes against the grain. Once again, our midweek regular for members sifts through the statistics to ascertain whether there really is anyone else worth considering:

I'm not a member but i'd imagine these articles are pretty helpful in picking a captain.

In a week like this though, it's pretty useless? Unless it can influence transfer of course.

      1. Million is worth roughly 22-23 points over a season so 0.1 is worth 2.2-2.3 points, the likely .2 swing you get by getting someone in early actually pays for a hit all on it's own.

No it isn't. Worth 15pts over the season or 7/8pts from Jan WC. And that's if you buy the right players.

This is for the full team but all the "value" is in the cheap players. It's the marginal value which is lower.

The point is the 0.1 has a value in points going forward, I believe, a very underrated one. Early transfers every week make you an extra 2-3 maybe even 4 million by the time we get to the late season allowing you to buy players the safe route does not allow.

    Oh sh*t !!!!!!

    Rooney has a 'knock' 🙁

Now normally a player who has a 'knock' misses the odd training session or at worst one match, but as we know...

Clyne & Kelvin Davis have had 'knocks' and missed at least 3-4 gameweeks.

I worry for Rooney if this is the case, as anyone carrying a 'knock' could be out for the season 🙄 !!!

The only thing we can guarantee with Rooney is that Moyes will completely fail to clarify the position.

So any speculation is useless until the team sheets are published.

Moyes has shown in his previous Everton incarnation and the whole RVP saga his sickening disregard for FPL players. No wonder he gets such a bad press here. 'Fes up Moyes and rekindle our respect for you....

i already took a hit for rooney in for aguero. (made some defensive changes earlier to free up some funds) should i take another hit(-8) rooney to negredo or should i use the extra funds i have to upgrade brady to ramsey or nasri?

I would take Rooney straight out, it's crystal clear from Moyes interview that he won't play and will be out for 2-3 weeks.

Any golden nuggets in the post match from Moyes re: Rooney.

I still live in hope that he felt he had to rest him and has lied for fear of backlash had they have lost.

For those that are saying, "Wait for press conferences", you do realise Moyes will just say "a few knocks & niggles" "Some will make it, some won't"!

We won't know any more then than we do now 🙂
