Tuesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Juventus v Porto
Leicester v Sevilla

Kasper Schmeichel – Leicester City – $4,400 – G
A combination of a budget-friendly price tag, home comforts and an upturn in form have us turning to the Foxes’ stopper. Leicester were defeated 2-1 in Spain, which means even a 1-0 victory would see them through to the next stage.

We’re expecting Craig Shakespeare to focus on a resilient showing, then, and utilise counter-attacks as the main route to goal. Even if they concede, Schmeichel should still be kept busy by the La Liga outfit, with two points on offer per save in DraftKings.

Dani Alves – Juventus – $5,600 – D
The Brazilian has now recorded back-to-back Serie A assists in front of his own fans, having teed up the opener in Juventus’ weekend win AC Milan from a right flank role. If Alves retains a position in midfield for the visit of Porto, his points potential at both ends of the pitch could be too good to ignore.

An average of 11.1 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG) includes a steady 106 crosses in 26 appearances, which are each worth 0.75 points in DraftKings. Furthermore, the former Barcelona man has already demonstrated his attacking capabilities at this level, serving up a goal and pair of assists in the group stages before netting a second of the campaign in the first leg in Portugal.

Paulo Dybala – Juventus – $8,300 – M/F
Deployed in the number ten role by Massimiliano Allegri against AC Milan at the weekend, the Argentine’s spot-kick winner was his fifth goal in seven outings across all competitions in a run that also includes three assists.

An average of 12.5 FPPG this term is slightly better than the pricier Gonzalo Higuain ($9,000), highlighting Dybala’s value for money as Juventus look to secure a place in the last eight.

DK1

Andre Silva – Porto – $6,400 – F
The Portuguese side have won their last two league fixtures 4-0 and 7-0 ahead of the trip to Italy so should be in a confident mood, though overturning a two-goal deficit at the Serie A leaders is a daunting prospect.

Certainly, Silva is most likely to be the key to any comeback – he’s scored 19 goals and served up seven assists in 31 Liga Nos and Champions League appearances this campaign.

Stevan Jovetic – Sevilla – $7,700 – F
Snapped up on loan from Man City, Jovetic has started five of Sevilla’s last six matches across all competitions and was among the goals in a weekend draw against Leganes.

The Spanish outfit fired 22 attempts to Leicester’s seven in the first-leg and, sitting third in La Liga, are likely to dominate once again at the King Power Stadium. Jovetic supplied an assist in that narrow 2-1 win and we expect him to be instrumental again tomorrow night.

Wednesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Atletico v Bayer Leverkusen
Monaco v Manchester City

Jan Oblak – Atletico – $5,400 – G
After keeping back-to-back clean sheets in La Liga, the Slovenian is a clear front-runner for the keeper slot in this slate alongside veteran Gianluigi Buffon ($5,600). The Atletico defence conceded twice in the first leg at the BayArena but will be more difficult to break down at the Vicente Calderon, where they have kept nine clean sheets in 16 home ties in the league and Europe this term.

A struggling Bayer Leverkusen visit having failed to pick up a victory since the reverse fixture – Oblak looks well set for points from a win and a shut-out here, then.

Wendell – Bayer Leverkusen – $4,400 – D
We had earmarked the highly rated Benjamin Henrichs for Leverkusen’s trip to Atletico but, with the right-back sidelined through suspension, we’re turning to his fellow full-back instead.

Wendell’s raids down the left flank served up a goal and assist in his previous away appearance for the German outfit and an average of 10.5 FPPG so far this season is more than any defensive team-mate.

Raheem Sterling – Manchester City – $7,800 – M/F
The winger prodcued an assist in the FA Cup win at Middlesbrough to continue a consistent run of form in which he’s provided attacking returns in ten of his last 14 appearances across all competitions.

Sterling bagged a goal and assist when Monaco visited the Etihad last time out, which contributed to a strong score of 24 points. With the onus on the Ligue 1 side to attack, Sterling’s pace should be put to good use once again in the reverse fixture.

DK2

Antoine Griezmann – Atletico – $8,700 – M/F
It’s difficult to overlook the prolific Frenchman when Atletico welcome a Leverkusen side that conceded six goals in their last away match (a 6-2 defeat at Dortmund).

Griezmann boasts some impressive form, netting four goals in his previous trio of La Liga matches. He also notched in the 4-2 victory over Leverkusen in the opening match of the tie – bringing his tally to four goals and two assists in seven Champions League outings this season.

Radamel Falcao – Monaco – $7,000 – F
The Colombian’s eye for goal may well make the difference if Monaco are to overcome a 5-3 first-leg against Manchester City, with a brace at the Etihad last time out his second two-goal haul in four Champions League outings this campaign.

Utilised as a sub at the weekend due to a minor groin problem, Falcao still found time to emerge from the bench to claim an assist. With 16 goals in as many starts in the league, he’ll surely be unleashed from the off against Pep Guardiola’s defence.

    Final draft for my wc
    Robles jakupovic
    Walker Alonso Valencia Stephens yoshida
    King Sanchez alli sigurdson vapour
    Costa Defoe lukaku
    2.5 itb. Thoughts?
Plan to get rid of Defoe and king for gabbidini and coutinho next week. Jake and Robles' fixture alternate nicely.

On a side note should I get Costa or hazard and play 3 5 2? Just feel like it will be a bit light up front if I don't play Costa but there aren't much decent premium strikers available

Not really a good idea to plan hits in advance, especially when you have just played the WC... Get Gabiaddini this week.

Stephens might not start once Caceras is good to go, get a Sunderland/MID's defender?

      Who is vapour?

Crazy to get rid of Defoe for Gabbiadini that too if there's a hit thrown in there. And what has Coutinho done to warrant a transfer in?

Try to fit more DGW player in

You GKs won't have a DGW so Pickford/DDG would be a start
I'd probably go Gabbiadini over Defoe
King really only has 1 good fixture.

Really don't like this mate, sorry!
Robles and double SOT defenders & Capoue.
A wc should be looked as minimising hits in future weeks imo, so use the 2.5itb now.

Worth taking a hit to get in a big hitter like Alexis? I am currently first in my mini league, and my closest opponent have only gw28-type-players because he used his wildcard.

Naaaa. Similar needs as you. Have Kane and two pool minds and serious Sanchez envy. Likely going firm and kane to costa and Alexis, minus four....but may get a little more risky, and do kane and Tom Carroll to Sanchez and Defoe, if firmino is fit, and go 3-5-2 or AOA, and likely we gw30 either way.

Is it really that important to get in a DGW playing GK if on a wildcard?
I was advised on the previous page (correctly so imo) to dump DDG from my wc and play Pickford everyweek, saving valuable funds for elsewhere!
Are the likes of DDG, Cech, Forster just too expensive for their expected points returns?

Depends on how often you play the combos.

DDG + Barnes vs Jaku/Pick + Deeney and which attacker is benched.

            With team B.
Gabbi would be benched this week and King would play. But after that King would be the one benched most of the time.
            Pickford would play every game.

            With tean A.
            Barnes will be always benched.
            DDG would play every game.

It is the most popular and sensible move. I'm strongly considering it, and yet, may do something a little different cos Costa usually is a goal a game, and I want something more explosive (I'll get a 2-pointer instead).

    A.
    DDG*/Pickford
    Valencia/Walker/Alonso/Mawson/Yoshida
    Sanchez/Hazard/Alli/Siggy/King
    Lukaku/Gabbi/Barnes**

    B.
    Pickford/Jaku*
    Valencia/Walker/Alonso/Mawson/Yoshida
    Sanchez/Hazard/Alli/Siggy/King
    Lukaku/Gabbi/Deeney**

Following up on my post above on DGW Goalkeepers, which of the above WC teams do you prefer?

A, but drop Walker for Davies to provide Spurs coverage, get rid of Valencia as you have ManU coverage in DDG to someone from Middleborough and then upgrade Barnes to Deeney???

Intersting, I just think there could be a lot of points in Valencia & Walker (bonus and potential assists) so I would be reluctant to remove those two.
Something to think about though, thanks.

    What would you do?

    A) Play AOA chip with Llorente (bou) (if fit). Got Lanzini, Siggy, Mane, King, Sane, Lukaku, Costa up front.
    B) Play Jones instead (mid)

    Cheers

You could do Snod to Sanchez and also Carroll to Costa which would be sweet. But by my calculations you need to gain at least 1.3 from defence and a -4 over two weeks for 3 transfers. Possible?

Ok after some advice from no less than Le God and TM above and after looking at 34 doubles being UTD and possibly CRY MID and WAT
I might aim for this for 34 when schedule announced

UTD - Ibra + def and maybe Mhki

I am discounting CRY dont like fixtures between now and don't like either possible 34 fixtures

MID - get a defender don't give up many. Nice run of fixtures including possible 34 double

Wat - deeney coming into form nice run of fixtures up to 34 too and possible double fixtures are ok

    Plan or not?

Mid defender for WBA one is my mind. Get off thier bad fixtures, raise little cash. Think Ibra and Def would be enough Man U for me.

Half the players might be rotated or just not care by then but the other possible dgws just don't seem likely to have enough fixtures to make BB a real option. Pain but hey then the cards we are dealt.

Mini-league rivals have Valenica, Siggy and Mane. Williams will be good for clean sheets and the odd header. Yosh and Fernandez good for swapping with Williams. Trying to go different to catch up in mini-league. What suggested changes should I make???

That ain't why it's a quarter of a mill though lol It's to do with ownership too. Wish they'd just have it 50k normal to 100k max and let the market decide, instead of fixing it so they can't fall much.

There's 1.2 Ibra owners left, loads of those will be dead teams? At this rate of 250k per 0.1 we'll be lucky to get to 11.3 before he's back. Wish they'd devise a proper market instead of fixing it so highly owned players can't fall much.

Yes 11.3 looks the lowest he gets at most which will be a bit disappointing .its mainly due to so many dead teams having Ibra and he will kept along nicely in those teams. At least there ranks get hurt due to it 😉

Some DZ questions for all you Australians/insomniac poms...

    How nailed is Pickford?

Is Gabbiadini likely to be rotated? The rest of the Southampton forwards have been so far

Would you prefer Sane (rotation risk) or Siggy (no dgw) from gw32 onwards?

Will George Friend ever stay fit?

      Yank here.
      Pickford is nailed
Gabbi unlikely to be rotated. More likely to be subbed around 70 min.
Not planning on having either. But Siggy out of them. Can then upgrade to a DGWer.
Friend unlikely, seems to not be first choice now anyway. I'd go fabio

      - You can say 95% nailed
      - As long as he continues to perform like this, he wont be rotated
      - I like Sane but Sigurdsson's set-piece duties and being the focal point of his attack makes him a better pick
