The ScoutCast – Episode 125 – Sicknote

It’s the ScoutCast vs Adversity. Granville drags himself out of his sick bed and we scramble into a makeshift studio, determined to return to the airwaves after our absence last week.

Apologies in advance for the echo, the faint background hiss and Granville’s Bonnie Tyler-like tones. If you can see your way past that little lot then you might just find some worth in this week’s episode as we grill the Gameweek 29 blank, sauté the Gameweek 31 doubles, boil down the Suarez vs Sturridge debate and lament our joint decision to choose Edin Dzeko from the lavish striker buffet, ignoring the sumptuous Sturridge in the process.

In between that particular call to Captain Hindsight, we rinse through the regulars, although Granville’s poorly state has us clean forget to credit the Scout League leaders or offer our thoughts on our new Fantasy Football squeeze – Ultimate Fantasy Premier League. Please accept this note from our respective Mum’s and the promise that we’ll return to full fitness next week.

  I just don't see him justifying his price tag because it factors in some attacking threat which he's barely shown all season. It's a bit like owning Vermaelen last season, his attacking threat disappeared but was still in his price. Also I don't trust Spurs not to concede with Sherwood. I wouldn't be surprised if Cardiff score (but still lose).

    But atm with no City games I've a fair bit of money available so can afford a luxury defender like him.

      I really fancy's Chelsea's chances to keep CS in those games. Fulham seem to have gone more defensive under Magath so they might be less of a threat. I can see Mourinho really killing Sherwood tactically, so the only risk would be a moment of Ade magic.

        Yeah, I doubled up on them with Terry and Cahill for a few weeks and it was good. I saw Cahill have much more chances and Terry got injured, so then I sold him. The next week he came back and scored that stoppage time winner against Everton. I don't know what to make of that. I still think most of the time Terry isn't that threatening as he doesn't go up for corners unless he needs to, still, when he does, he's pretty handy.
        
        I would actually go Ivanovic over Terry - he seems to have made a career out of being surprisingly threatening.

    If you have less than eleven men and the player you bring in only get's two points for a (-4) then it's a net (-2)...If that player also plays a DGW shortly after and only get's 2 pts again in one of those games then that original transfer is for free..(assuming the blank player you took out wouldn't have played a DGW)...

  Sherwood is far more switched on that many give him credit for. Sherwood dropped him for good reason, he wasn't delivering the goods and certainly wasn't fit enough. Even faded out towards the end of the game tonight.
