The Big Numbers – Gameweek 24

Our final Tuesday evening article delves into members’ data, as we take our usual scan of some of the standout numbers over the weekend’s ten fixtures.

We compare Gabriel Jesus’ displays with those of Sergio Aguero at Manchester City and check up on the recent performances of Swansea City’s and Manchester United’s in-demand midfielders.

The impact of Philippe Coutinho since returning from injury comes under the spotlight, while we also analyse the frontmen at Everton and Crystal Palace after a weekend of wildly contrasting fortunes.

      Sanchez: 2
      Siggy: 15
      Hazard: 10

I guess. Because I own Sanchez, everybody owns Siggy but me, and some own Hazard (not me)

Avoid Brinkley. Very solid at home. Hazard average away from home

      Siggy 2-1 may get involved

Sanchez 2-1 highest chance of points

    Better option and why?

    A) Alonso & Kane
    (6-7 max GW28 players)

    B) Baines & Costa
    (7-8 max GW28 players)

Have Luiz, Hazard, Coleman, Lukaku & Alli.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

I've answered many times. You need Alonso. You should never have sold him.

              You also need Costa.

It's a tough choice then. I've got Baines and Coleman. Wish I'd gone Barkley instead of Baines now.
Baines not getting involved much in attacks now.
Alonso in a better team and more attacking.

Hey Karan14 if you are around

Well you are correct That 3 at the back was getting more out of Spurs attacking assets than this 4 at the back formation in which Son and Kane Looks good but Eriksen will always have a big appeal due to set pieces ...There fixtures also points towards a very smooth ride for Spurs assets..Eriksen to Siggy is a appealing move agreed buy it didnt appeal to me ..Think the right time would be before 28

Fulham beating Spurs is also not out of the question... would be keeping my spurs assests as far as i know atm

    1. Karan14
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

I'm not worried about loosing Erikssen because only I own him in my ML same goes for Siggy if I get him.

I'm still 50-50 on it. I plan to get Kane next week so I don't want to Triple up on Spurs that's what I feel.

      1. Phil Dagger ⭐
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Yep that is also a big factor if you look at for ML purposes...
this transfer looks food for this week but next he faces Chelsea so Eriksen and Alli has a good chance to outscore him in next 2 that's what I feel....
        Could be wrong though 😛
I think Saving FT going to be good before 26 ...

Tbh I can bench siggy against chelsea next for this:

          Coleman Luiz Brunt Alonso/Baines
          Hazard Alli Phillips
          Lukaku Benteke Costa/Kane

All of them have good fixtures and playing at home.

Well looks Good if you like it .... I am personally against Selling Eriksen or Alli...
            But I like Siggy

              7 years, 3 months ago

I think I might pull the trigger on this come Friday.

Not that I want to sell Erikssen but I feel Siggy might outscore him over the next 5-6 weeks if he blanks and Spurs don't go back to the 3421 formation. And I'll have Kane as a differential in my ML from next week.

    Keeper question:

I've been playing Grant the last few weeks and keeping Pickford on the bench. Is it worth getting in Jaku for Grant next week or do you think Pickford will give a similar level of points anyway?

Depends a bit on Champions league and being rested. But I think from recent interviews and from reading between the lines the Jesus Sterling Sane combination is one that Pep wants to develop to get them gelling together.

I don't think on recent form there is anyone else Pep prefers in that position. Plus he's not had the busiest season so won't be too tired.

I want to add him after GW28 I think.
Next season he will be one of my first in the team based off what I'm currently seeing.

      1. Angin out the Begović
        • 11 Years

Yeah him and Jesus just look like a force. Its good to see City attack flowing again racking up those points 😀

      2. TOBY1
        • 7 Years

I also think that Pep secretly thinks that although the PL is probably out of reach, if he wins every game from now until the end of the season (very unlikely) then it could be physically possible... So he will want to play his best team.

Yes if Jesus and him can link up with cut backs and read each other well then it would be deadly. He gets by people easily. Just final ball not quite there yet. He's got lots of time to improve that. I think he's already scored more goals than navas has the past 3 seasons. Haha.

City have a kid called Jordan Sancho that's very good at getting past people. He's got crazy good skills with the ball.

Anyone else planning to sell Sanchez & Defoe before GW26, depending on FA Cup results of course?

I'm keeping Sanchez and selling Ibra i think, unfortunately i have rondon instead of Defoe!

Ibra vs BOU or Sanchez vs liv was what made my mind up.....also think the will both drop in value so either one can hopefully be bought back fairly easily....

After liverpool game Spurs have 3 games ( 2 europa and 1 fa cup) before the start of next pl match

Do you think likes of kane alli and eriksen will play in those europa matches ?

      1. Kings of Lyon ★

They certainly should. The Spurs squad right now has a fantastic chance of winning a European trophy for the first time in .... well i dont know but I can imagine it will be a while. Dropping your key players in Europe is madness imo

        1. HurriKane
          • 11 Years

certainly playing those matches could lead to fatigue?

as chelsea and everton has no european matches to deal with kane --> lukaku or costa is tempting

Certainly could. Its all about where Spurs priorities lie. Trying to win a European trophy or trying to finishing the top 4. If I was a spurs fan Id hope they won the EL but I know the board will put pressure on the manager to focus on domestic 'success' as the PL pays more.

      Hey DZ, help!

Totally stuck, need to raise the funds for a Davies > Siggy this week and Ibra > Kaku next week. And not willing to part ways with Sanchez (for at least this week). So where do I get the $$ from?

Feel like Kane and Eriksen will be in the points against Pool...Costa my only CHE attacker and good fixtures...that only leaves Walker and Alonso who I also want to keep. I'm stuck.

Also need to burn a FT.

      Randolph, Jaku
      Baines, Holgate, McCauley, Walker, Alonso,
      Fletcher, Davies, Sanchez, Antonio, Eriksen
      Costa, Ibra, Kane

            Can do:

            Davies > Siggy
            Eriksen > King/Snoddy/Phillips

and then have enough for any of my front 3 to Kaku next week.

                7 years, 3 months ago

If really want Siggy, think I'd do straight Eriksen swap, play Fletcher & see if eve revert line up (re Davies). Then switch mids next week + Lukaku in.

So Sigurdson has taken a combined 25 corners and FK's in the last 6 gameweeks. Plus he's on penalties.

Wow. That's got to count for something.
