Pick the highest hauling keeper of these:

    A: Lössl
    B: B.Foster
    C: F. Forster
    D: Fabricio
    E: Hennessey

    And is Hennessey even nailed?
    cheers

Both starting 11 quality or not?

2x 6.5 is the safe option, ie Richarlison and Mili.

I'd be tempted by BSilva + Fraser, riskier but great potential

    I don't get Aguero.

    A) He will be rotated. Pep showed last season that you don't know when that will be.

    B) Most don't plan to captain him. That means the explosive potential isn't being best utilised.

    C) You can bring in KDB & Eriksen for Jota and Richarlson. In other words 2 premium players who are nailed on to start most weeks over one who isn't.

I just don't understand the logic behind bringing Aguero in without the plan to captain him. Or is it because he scored 2 goals at the weekend and of course he will score 2 goals in every match for the whole season as that is how football works.

    1. Les Bleus
      • 14 Years

Who would you go as a premium striker? Not many options other than Auba

      1. Demel

I wouldn't. Firmino and a mid priced one looks good to me.

          • 8 Years
          7 years, 4 months ago

Because his goalscoring record is outrageous, it's good to have a second captain option, and on your main point, he does play him wheb he is fit, practically always. Plus, going for the dependable mids, where is the excitement? Boring!

I’m happy to start him as he looked good in the CS. In a few weeks if he doesn’t perform then I’ll take him out for Aubameyang or upgrade elsewhere.

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

I appreciate the fact that he is an easy downgrade. Or sideways move. You keep the cash to potentially use elsewhere. But it takes up 2 to 3 transfers to do so.

        1. Hairy Potter
          • 10 Years

Also I think he will play most games and City have good fixtures.

    3. Reiko
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 4 months ago

Aguero will allow an easy switch to another premium striker who gets in form, as I would not consider captaining Salah for all 38 GWs, but this is just my opinion

    4. Respect My Authoritah
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 4 months ago

      A) Yep, but less so than you're thinking imo. No pick us permanent also, so easy to sell.

      B) Disagree. Gw2.

      C) You'd have one less playing player in that scenario, an unfair comparison.

You can make similar arguments about any player in isolation.

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

        C) The team with Eriksen and KDB would need a mid priced striker in place or Kun. Or a 4th premium defender depending on shape.

          • 11 Years

Logic in what you say. Amazing player but think he will play fewer minutes again this season. Pep will need a better outing also in the champions league, which will also affect aguero. Overpriced for a player unlikely to hit 200 points

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

And (for example) Eriksen and KDB tend to score 200 points every season. You can get them both by not having Kun.

Agreed - he is a trap. Over 7 seasons in the league he has averaged 2200 minutes or less. He’ll be 31 on his next birthday & that average is going nowhere but down.

Vardy, Firmino & Lacazette all should outscore him this year, and I also spect KDB, Mahrez, Sané, Sterling and Jesus to do the same.

I think there’s just too much chance of him being benched, injured, sent off, blanking, or being subbed off early in GW1 & GW2, should be very interesting to see

      1. GREEN IS GOOD

Why would Aguero be more likely to be sent off or injured? And if he is just transfer him out.

Lacazette is a bold shout but I agree with the other 2 and all of the points attached.

You don't need him for the full season though, looking at those first 7 fixtures at a time where he appears to be fit and first choice. I anticipate him starting at least 5 of those 7 and his PL record against lower table teams just can't be ignored

Aguero makes sense as at least a short term pick that's why. If planning to use wc around gw4 you can change him.

This is potentially the plan.Kun to a 7m and bring in KDB when he is ready. If you
have Kun and Auba like I do you could swap them for Kane and Lacazette for the same money on September 1st. I’m certainly captaining Kun gw2 If he’s available.

I definitely plan on captaining him. No way am I perma captaining Salah

      1. Demel

In that case he makes some sense. But never knowing when he will be benched would put me off.

          • 9 Years
          7 years, 4 months ago

I wouldn’t say never. We were always trying to guess Pep’s lineups last season. With just every attacker besides KDB. And they were value despite being rotated.

Even without captaincy, Aguero had 6.8 ppm last season, the highest after Salah and Sterling. That’s not bad for 11m. And imo, he became more of the first choice striker at City late last season before he got injured. I don’t expect major rotation before CL starts.

I agree he’s kind of a risk and not for everyone though.

      2. Mini Mane Mo

Would Auba be a better pick since he's more likely going to play than Kun

But who cheaper than Kun is going to get as many points? There's really only Bobby as an option.

        2. GREEN IS GOOD
          • 9 Years

City are looking slick so Aguero could be in the goals for the first few gws. I consider him worth the risk. He's gonna play enough minutes to be worth it.

        3. Cok3y5murf
          • 9 Years

Probably, but I think investing 11m into a player with those two hard fixtures at the start is an even bigger waste. I like to do my best to get off to a flying start. I don’t see Auba exploding in those games and I have a feeling he’ll start on the left with Laca at ST again.

When Son gets back he’s gold for that price, offers as much if not more value than Eriksen imo. If he plays GW1 then could get a few price drops during the AC we could be picking him up for 8.3 around Wildcard time in GW5-7

Yeah - though depends on what impression moura makes as he could always rotate more with son. wc after gw4 seems a good option (early wc always worked in the past for me) salah out, pick up bargains like pogba before they're bandwagons

Son will be at the Asian games I'm pretty sure (unless they are squeezing him in for the first game week before he leaves).

Neither of them will be first team when they all come back unless they make a huge impact in the next month (Alli, Eriksen and Son in behind Kane ahead of the defensive mids).

If I had to choose who will make that impact it'd be Moura.

Impressed me a lot last year with limited minutes. Really keen to see what he can do in more than 30 minutes on the pitch. I can see him really challenging Alli for the starting gig if he has a good next month.

Yeah moura seems the 4th best attacking mid but wondered if he was preferred on same side as alli so whether lamela would more naturally slip into son's place when gone, or whether it doesnt matter really

Kun Firmino Arnie as a forward. Do you think that’s heavy? I’ve invested quite a bit in defense as well.

I’m late on this one, but what were Barca thinking?

£45m plus 2 subs for Pogba.

Pogba is arguably second best CM to Modric in the world. He certainly gives Kroos and Kante a run for their money for that title.

He is, but Modric and Kroos are way ahead of him. They are the driving force behind 2 straight CLs.
Kante is also more valuable than Pogba. He isnt the same level as the RMA midfielders for me but he is at the top, and very marketable so he catches a higher price

Very strange, hope he stays as he’s a shoe in to my FPL team as soon as he’s back - he’s underpriced at 8.0 imo

He feels Mou constricts him and doesn't allow him to show his WC form. If he downs tools it might force United's hands. Could be the only way Mou gets the players in he wants - a couple of defenders and that Savic chap.

With that there old transfer window closing in 66 hours, we’ll hopefully find out soon enough.

To Pogba’s credit, I’d like to think he’ll realise if he does want out of Utd, the best way to go about is to play himself out & put himself in the shop window for next summer.

Really excited by his prospects in FPL this year, his FPL output last year in 27 games was super, and he had that serious hamstring injury missing 10 games mid season.

We could have a serious bargain on our hands. Him, Ozil, KDB, Eriksen are perfect partners for Salah in a 3-5-2 imo

      2. Zladan

Absolutely. It’s been said a lot, but Fred really should allow Pogba to get more FPL points. 8m is very good, especially compared to others in and around that price point.

If I have a clear strategy to bank it I might.

E.g. Having Mahrez and if he starts slow can move to Mane or Eriksen.

Otherwise I'd upgrade if you're confident in Shaw.

Morning Guys. I've been thinking about the TAA /Clyne issue. TAA had a successful last season only because Clyne was unavailable through injury. Now Clyne is back fully fit and has had a full preseason bt still TAA Is more owned. Now I consider Clyne a better defender than TAA and if I'm klopp I'd be thinking that Clyne deserves his chance. TAA starting ahead of Clyne would really be bad for Clyne psychologically because he has given his all in preseason .so, when he starts game week 1and does well it will be difficult for klopp to make him 2nd choice. I'm not saying there won't be rotation bt I think you get the point. I'm i making a good argument or I shouldjust shut up?

      • 16 Years

I think taa goes down as major risk until proved otherwise hence others going for Robertson on here. From recollection (but might be wrong) the only benefit is that he tends to either play or not rather than getting sub appearances but probably then feels like a waste of a Liverpool spot

Both were fit towards the end od the season and TAA played. TAA came early from his holiday as he wants to start, and Klopp said he will be available for GW1 and praised his attitude.
In football terms, TAA also seems to offer more. I think Clyne will play CL / Cuo games and TAA league games.

Yeah, i struggle to see the value without risk: mane and eriksen are safe but possibly unlikely to exceed what you'd hope for cost. Man City more of minefield than last year. Ramsey, pogba, hazard seem decent options but might not start season (or poor fixtures). Jota and Richardson are punts (which may come off but could equally blank for weeks). The 5m brigade I don't think will score enough to warrant starting over a defender. I'm going with 3 mids but struggling for a 3rd for 7.5m or under

I've set my mind on two rotating 4.5 GKs for some time now. Currently on Fab + Patricio, but I'm starting to consider Begovic too (in place of Patricio). What do you guys think?

    B. Begovic (& a Wol DF)

I'm anti-rotation so haven't looked closely, but I don't think Wolves/Hammers fixtures work well together. BOU does but they kept few cleanies last season. Foster at Watford might complement better.

    Good morning

Would you prefer going with DDG (having Tomkins; Robbo and Mendy in a 3-5-2) instead of Patrício? Or go with Patrício and upgrade Costa to Jota, following Traore news? Other mids are Salah; Mane; Eriksen and Richarlison

Thoughts on having both Ralls & Cairney for my Set & Forget team?
(No Transfer & No Change in Starting 11 for the entire season)
