aren't these BPS changes just favouring the big sides? losing 4bps for conceding a goal especially. and of course shots on target as well

GKs where already kinda useless picks haha... oh well. If CSs will be like last season(almost non existing), a 5m+ GK will not be worth it at all.

The penalty save change is fine, making one previously meant you were guaranteed to be in the bonus points even in a heavy loss. I remember looking last season and I couldn't find a keeper who saved a penalty and didn't get in the bonus points.

It'll be interesting to hear what people think about being able to save up to 5FTs, but on the face of it I am not sure it will change an awful lot for me.

I'd have liked 2FTs per week.

I like it a lot tbh. Being able to roll basically indefinitely gives us new options to target fixture swings more effectively.

We could more easily swing from triple Liverpool > triple City in one go for example.

I like it in theory but tbh can't think of the last time I had 2 FTs & no plans; would probably have been more useful in conjuction with some extra FTs. Personally I think 2 FTs per week is maybe a bit much although I would like a few more, ideally something like 60 FTs per season to be used at any time (and no chips)

I think it has two key strategic impacts:

      1. It reduces the argument that you are forced to have Haaland / Salah because it’s hard to switch into them. It’s now easier to switch strategies.

      2. It increases the value of a playing bench to navigate short term injuries or fixtures swings for your preferred 11 to help store up transfers.

Yes. If you want to sell Haaland and use the cash to upgrade at least two more other players (or to downgrade two or more players in order to afford to buy Haaland), then it will now be possible to bank transfers and then do this in one week without using a Wildcard or taking hits.
It will also provide more flexibility and insurance for when Haaland gets injured and misses a few weeks.
It has often been recommended to save a transfer when you can in order to make two the following week, but now perhaps we should consider banking two transfers in order to have three the following week in case they are needed to deal with such situations.

Think in 10 years I've only been in a position where I have burned a transfer once and have rarely been in a position where I would have saved for a third 3FT, So unless I drastically change my style of play I don't think it will make a great deal of difference to me, casuals however who were burning transfers through inactivity could benefit big time for this.

Saving 5 FT's will require a fair bit of luck and a lot of patience.

Depending on your playing style, I genuinely think it could hinder some people, especially cautious players who get preoccupied with saving transfers.

I doubt I'll save more than 3 FT's the entire season...

So basically we roll for the first 5 GW’s of the season, and then we never have to take a hit for the entire season.

You say that now - it won’t play out like that. But yes hits become more indicative of under preparation - or rough luck with injuries

That's how I'm interpreting this, if you have a smooth start then you'll constantly have a big safety net of transfers

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

You won’t constantly have a safety net though as you’ll get more aggressive with transfers to get ahead of form / fixture swings as opposed to mostly using them to fix injuries etc.

Will any serious player be able to resist making an FT in the first for 4 GWs ? If they did they would probable need to use them to get in players that they have missed out on by saving FTs at a higher price.

Stored up transfer likely to slightly reduce Haaland ownership. Going from no Haaland to Haaland typically takes 3 transfers. Last season you had to suffer an interim week with several £m in bank. Now you can plan to do the entire switch immediately.

it might be easier than you think . you have to consider theres people who could be making transfers after 2 gwks just for the sake of it because they know they cant bank another ft. well now they can.

Ownership levels will change drastically week on week

Which is a good thing as people used to follow the template mostly

This change is a TEMPLATE BREAKER

I fear a downside is actually it will create a stronger template. Less chance of people locking themselves out of a template because of their budget distribution. More flexibility to move to the template quicker.

Not impressed with these tinkering changes. This site is full of question posts from players that are confused by the rules as it is.
Mystery chip? Really? Activating it gives you 50% chance of getting £5m extra team value? 50% chance of your team being zapped off out of the season up a wormhole? (Daren't use the actual location I was thinking of)

Love the 5 FT idea, can plan for blocks of 5 weeks then have mini wildcards to keep it fresh & try and get away/ahead of the pack.

Will suit aggressive play, flipping premiums based on fixs will be very easy.

      1. _Freddo
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 16 Years

Also think you could play the fixs a lot easier, like load up on Newcastle & Forest for the first few weeks then flip them all out, means you won’t get attached to players though because you’ll be always keeping it fresh based on fix blocks.

        Nice idea. Like it.

  19. Runnerboy31

I think people are underestimating how the stored transfers change the game. Anyone that has played sites like Fanteam know that the value of using a transfer changes quite drastically.

Multiple transfers used together are more valuable than the sum of the individual transfers.

So I don’t think it will be a case of store of 5 and have a safety net of transfers I think it’ll prove more effective to save up 3/4/5, then use them together as a mini wildcard. Rinse - repeats.

So it’s far more of a strategy change than simply a way to reduce hits.

(quote from website) let's say you have four free transfers saved ahead of Gameweek 29 but decide to activate the Free Hit instead. You will, under the new rules, still have four free transfers for Gameweek 30, when your original squad is returned to you.
