Which of these combos is better...

B but I get why you want Gordon. If he starts I can see him racking up some points against Southampton

I do think Areola could be a good pick this season. Always good for save points and West Ham have added some quality to their backline (Todibo, Kilman and AWB). They also have two good defensive midfielders in Rodrigues and Alvarez

      A.

Nkunku really isn't for me to start the season. New manager, unproven fitness, unsure role. It's the classic wait and see.

I don’t see it that way:

Pre season has shown good fitness, his role is uncertain but he has history of returns from several different positions and new manager creates uncertainty but more for over formation and style than for the more flair / free role types.

If we had more certainty a price of 7.5-8.5m would seem daft. So a bit of uncertainty for a 1-2m saving seems a snip to me given the fixtures.

B - Raya a set and forget and the clean sheets will roll in. Nkunku will nice fixture run and will get fair share of attacking returns for Chelsea.

Good to read that many on here seem pretty settled with their teams going into final prep week. Barring last min twists I think I'm done. Seemed a bit daunting initially but the good 5.5-6.5 mid options have been a great help. Good luck to all.

        I don't have Salah, no.

Currently on Jota & Gordon. I guess stick and then Jota to Eze once rotation at Pool kicks in is the way here.

Thoughts on this (some changes already from my last post)

    Sels
    Gvardiol Gabriel Porro Andersen
    Saka Gordon Jota
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Turner Bobb Barco Sangare

Sels -> another 4.5 with better fixtures when the forest fixtures turn less favourable

    0.0itb

Quite settled on this. Going to start with haaland and see how it goes, if he's not covering the points of other premium assets (palmer, Watkins, son etc) then will downgrade him and improve other areas of my team.

My most risky team. Start Bobb GW 1-2, move to Carvalho, Rogers or Amad after. Rotate any of them with João Pedro.

    Raya | Virginia
    Quansah | Alexander-Arnold | Gvardiol | Barco | Faes
    Saka | Diogo J | Eze | Nkunku | Bobb
    Haaland (v) | Isak | João Pedro

Maybe Mykolenko over Quansah to play it safe but don't mind Barco playing if needed.

ESR for the best set and forget option. Minteh could be the most explosive of the lot.

I like them all too but put off a little by CHO and Rogers as I don't think Forest will score lots of goals, and I'll be looking at Watkins over Rogers for attacking returns once Villa's fixtures pick up and not sure I'd want a double up on Villa's attack.

This is where i have landed, been trying to avoid the noise, potentially worried i am too heavy in def. I could downgrade Porro to a rotation option Konsa

    Raya (4.0)
    Gvard Munoz Porro (Konsa, Barco)
    Salah Jota Eze Saka (ESR)
    Solanke JP Isak

1.5m itb, i think from GW3 moving Isak/Solanke to Watkins is the play (or at least have the option to). Also not against spending it if there is something i am missing.

There is way more question about Solanke's game time than Havertz esp GW1.

Havertz is nailed. He will play it's just a question of 9 or 8 LCM.

Still Nkunku. The new, shinier preseason starlets and Chelsea's transfer shenanigans are distracting from the fact that Nkunku is a top player and a bargain at £6.5m

      Very solid lad.
I would look at Munoz instead of Porro and change keeper

Is anyone still on the Haaland Watkins Isak frontline? I've had a few drafts but I'm trying to build one now with some sure starters. It's boring but maybe sensible.

    TAA Munoz Robinson 4.0 4.0
    Son Gordon Rice ESR 4.5
    Haaland Watkins Isak

    What do you reckon?
