For solanke replecement, I already have ESR.

    A) a side move to mateta.
    B) downgrade to muniz. Than upgrade EsR to Eze with the fund.

Does B worth the extra transfer?

A friend of mine texted me earlier saying he’s done this exact move, I actually don’t mind it at all, just depends which United turns up if he starts, which is usually the boring type.

Surely 1 sub app in the PL isn't enough to go on, he may not start again.

      Very risky.
While scout has him starting, I dont see eth picking 1 less midfielder for away game.

Also eth tends to gradually introduce attackers. Even if I'm wrong and he starts he will not get full game.

Would people even want him if he hadn't scored that late goal last week... me even thinks would there be a bruno or rashford bandwagon if they had taken the good chances.

      Unbalanced, too many premiums

I’ve never understood what “balance” is in fpl terms, or rather I find it more of an emotional hook than actually I grounded strategy.

One player getting 2 returns is the same as two players getting 1 return (bps considerations aside).

The squad above has some of the best options at each price used, so why is “more balance” needed?

        1. Hello Palou
          1 year, 11 months ago

Guess its meant that if you have 2 or 3 very expensive players, they are the ones who bring home the points.

If they don't you may be left with a load of 1s and 2s.

But its the best 11 that get the points, if that includes 2 x 12/15m players so be it.

          1. Runnerboy31

But the premiums are also normally where the hauls come from. I don’t think a balanced squad is any less risky, just the risks are different.

However, it’s easy to move away from a multi premium squad, it’s very hard to move into it. That was the deciding factor to me.

Not ideal having to rely on 3 of ESR/Minteh/Muniz/Armstrong every GW

    1m ITB

    Henderson
    TAA / Porro / Robinson
    Saka / Jota / ESR / Murphy
    Haaland (C) / Isak / Solanke*

    Flekken // Rogers / Hall / Barco

Not totally sure what to do with Solanke. I've got double FUL already with Robinson & ESR. Triple's a lot, although won't have to play all three every week.

Can afford Havertz, but I feel I'll need the money in the next few.

    A) Bench Solanke, start Hall
    B) Bench Solanke, start Rodgers
    C) Solanke > Muniz

He needs roughly two returns per game to make his points per price value worth it. - If you assume a 0.9-1 ratio is reasonable.

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

          Is that a correct ratio?!

          8 points a game is 300 points a season. You aren’t expecting a 8m player to score 300 points …

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

If basing decisions on points per price value I think it would get more complicated. I think it would be accurately be something like:

Step 1: Establish a baseline playing price per position, so 4.5/4.5/4.5/5.5 and a baseline score for players at that price

Step 2: Set a desired ratio of points per additional £m spent above that baseline price.

          A hypothetical example might be:

Expect 4.5m MID to get 2pts and 8.5m MID to get 5.5pts. Salah would have to get 9pts game to be worth more including any captain points.

          1. Hello Palou
            1 year, 11 months ago

            Definitely too complicated.

I don't have set figures in mind but I know roughly what I want or expect from my cheapest players.

            Take the keepers, Flekken/Henderson.

Flekken got me 4 pts last week which for 4.5m is great. Won't happen every week we know that but its a much lower bar.

As you say naturally we want the more expensive players to score big.

I think certain players could average 8 or 9pts a match this season tbh.

Yea I’m definitely not advocating for doing that analysis, more pointing out why the simple version is flawed.

I’d be very surprised if someone scored over 300 points, which is what 8 is.

              1. Hello Palou
                1 year, 11 months ago

I could see the big two getting close but its a tough ask I admit.

Key is getting them in at the right time and leaving them out at the right time.

                Easy eh haha.

Haaland is at least quite predictable, most of his mega hauls have come in games you might have expected it from him which helps … depending on how bad / good you think United is.

                  1. Hello Palou
                    1 year, 11 months ago

I support them, we are an odd team. Capable of solid performances but also fiascos.

Other than the 6-3 (looks great that) we've played him quite well.

But then we did Salah for a while.....last 2-3 seasons he's run riot a bit more.

City really should expect to beat almost everybody.

Yeah I think my ratio was off.

I'm just browsing through some players from last season to get a benchmark, something like:

Points / Price / Games played.

Based on reply elsewhere. Debate on the value of “squad balance”. I’m someone who started with Trent, Salah, Haaland, Isak and Son. My squad would be criticised for being unbalanced but I’m sure what that actually means.

All 5 above would be expected to consistently return, and if they do I don’t need much for the other 6 players. I made some wrong choices on players but happy with the structure.

Seeing people debate if they want to start ESR and Robinson against lei (H) actually makes me more convinced. As a decent chunk of the “balance” ends up as points on the bench.

You're bound to have that issue because of the defenders but all 3 could get clean sheets the weekend and TAA/Gvardiol could get attacking returns.

        Agree on the 4.0's

Need the 4.5's to be nailed
Think Livra will switch sides if Tripp comes back?

Trippier pushing to move. Livramento will be the go-to from 4 onwards

      Konsa/Pau long term

Mazraoui game time unclear when Shaw is back after IB. Fixtures aren't great either

I have Saka but very tempted to switch to:
    A) KDB
    B) Son
    C) Foden

Would you hold or which would u switch to? Assuming u have Salah / Haaland. Appreciate your thoughts 🙂

Only afraid KDB can’t last 90 mins! How was his last game? I’m sure he and Son will have returns this week!

Separate note is Saka’s (and Arsenal) bogey team is Aston Villa. Could be a 2-pointer game for Saka ::(
