A but I'd want to switch either of them for KDB after a couple of weeks. Maybe even Mahrez + 5m mid and bank the money for when players start to come back

Good call. Was thinking about KDB at some point to get more city cover. Really think Hazard will be great this season with sarri ... if he stays.

Alright I am starting to like my team now! 😉
Such good value in the 6-7m midfield bracket. Looking to just use transfers between those players and let the rest of the teams stay as it is.
Richarlison, Lucas, Richarlison and Schürrle can easily be replaced with the likes of Jota, Mkhi, Anderson, Townsend, Lingard and Gros.
Ofc I'll have to keep an eye on Shaw and Agüero, but with Mahrez joining City those wingers can just as easily be rotated as Agüero up front. Trying to avoid using early WC, and that is why my value is a bit more spread - makes me somewhat able to adapt to 1 or 2 of my players getting benched without instantly using the WC as my way out.

    What do you think?

    Pickford - Stekelenburg
Otamendi - van Dijk - Mee - Shaw - Francis
    Salah - Lucas - Pedro - Richarlison - Schürrle
    Agüero - Lacazette - Kamara

It's different to other teams i've seen and i actually quite like it. Not sure I like Schurrle tho, he wasn't very good for dortmund and only has 3 goals in his last 33 apps. He's only really a nostalgic pick now

      1. Salarrivederci
        • 9 Years

Ye I told myself yesterday, that I would not pick him, but just can't help it.

I like the opportunities having 2x 6.5, 1x 7.0 and 1x 6.0. Makes it really easy to jump to one of the other nice prospects within that bracket.

And he does have some nice fixtures in the first few weeks 😉

Well he's a punt that's for sure. But another piece of advice from me is having maybe one 4.0 defender (W.Bissaka and Peltier looking like starters). It frees up 0.5 that you can use to boost up shaw or Van Dijk. Maybe even squeeze in a more expensive midfield option if you downgrade another

Other than Tomkins and Cedric? I can't tell atm. A bournemouth defender probably but i don't know who right now. Saw something that Rico might not play first few weeks, and daniels will instead

What do people think of having two 6.5 mids? (Jota, Richarlison, Sess, Pedro, Fabregas, Walcott, Lamela)

Or is it better to downgrade one and get a mkhi/ramsey or martial instead?

I like it. We've got about 4 players in common but a very similar team structure. I've gone with a 3-4-3 tho (Firmino over Mane). Either way i just love that 6.5 duo in midfield because of the plethora of options available

There’s a lot of inticing punts between 6.5 and 7.5.

I’m going for 2x 6.5s I think. Mkhitaryan, Ramsey and Martial are all just as risky imo.

Well, he's an intriguing one for me. Of course he managed 14 goals in the championship last season but he's young, never played in the prem and i'm not sure where he fits in the leicester side.

I just think the options I listed are less of a punt would you agree?

Of course. I see him scoring 20+ this year. I might start the season with Auba tho because he's the only premium striker i'm liking atm and to preserve structure. Once kane, lukaku etc. are back i'm thinking firmino > Lacazette possibly

What are people's thoughts on their choice of 2 main strikers?

I've been sat on Firmino and Auba for a while but not sure on Firmino's minutes for the start of the season. Now I'm thinking Aguero and Lacazette is the way to go. Robbo Mendy and Salah are my other Liv/City players so feeling a bit light on city action atm

It could be. Needs a lot of work though. Its infested by people who want spoon feeding. Not a place I come for knowledge as much. Can have better debates on other sites . Its so big here now it's impossible for them to control it in all honesty. Not sure what they can do so not a quick fix.

It's the price of success. A decent comment section can only take place in a much smaller community. Though there are probably things that can be done to help.

Not sure what. How can they limit users posting 500 RMT's a week. Its out of control.

Same mate. I was hoping something would be done about these RMT's. I was going to email my frustrations but what is the point

Definatly. Its grown too big now. Quality has declined massively from the good old days. It is what it is. Gotta stop living in past. There are other resources I can use to get knowledge

Who are everyone's punt/gamble in their initial squad?

For me I am looking at Mata for the first two games.

Ideally want an Arsenal midfielder from GW3 onward so can afford to take an initial risk with one player and feel there are plenty of options in the 7.0 and below category. Obviously waiting to see how pre-season develops but the likes of Lamela, Pedro and Maddison also on my radar.

    Fab/bego
    Tomkins/cedric/daniels/diop/yedlin
    Salah/Sane/Jota/Richarlison/stephens
    Firminho/Auba/Arnie
    1 in the bank

    B] set and forget

    Ddg/speroni
    Azpi/mendy/robertson/peltier/wan bissaka
    Salah/sane/kennedy/deulofeu/cairney

      A.
I have that exact same defense...
Only Salah, Jota and Stephens as well though.
It’s the strategy I’m going to go with this season.
So many good 4.5 options out there...

Not a Fulham fan but would imagine he will be the one to get alot of 1 point cameos off the bench unless the unlikely event that they don't sign a CF

    Anyone fancy Morata?

Pretty decent fixtures. At the moment looks like he will start unless Chelsea sign Higuain or a different striker.

    And Sarri likes to attack

Links to AC are putting me off currently but if still there and Higuain isn't then for sure he's in my team

That is my worry too. He's good but I don't think good enough to win Chelsea the league. At 9m though I think he could still be a potential bargain.

    Repost

Could someone please confirm who the first choice goalkeepers are for Cardiff and Fulham and whether they nailed for the new season?

I know Fulham have just signed a keeper but dont know enough about whether he will be no 1

    Cheers

Is Salah, Mane and Firmino overkill? If so, who to lose?

Firmino looking like he won't play GW1 anyway so may as well get rid of him.

Could work but I wouldn't like it from the start. Firmino isn't in the tour with the team so he is the one to lose

Yeah probably but rumours are Bobby might play GW1.

If Bobby does play I would probably turn Mane into Sane or Eriksen.

Dont think so. All very attacking. The notion of spreading the risk is as foolish as "cover". Each player must be looked at individually. All 3 you listed will score many points
