What Spurs’ pre-season friendlies mean for their FPL attacking assets so far

Fantasy Premier League managers have now had the chance to watch Spurs on three occasions ahead of the new season – so what have we learned?

Jose Mourinho’s men come into 2020/21 with one of the most appealing set of fixtures, so interest in their attackers has been high.

Making sure we are invested in the right assets is important, so I have assessed some of the key talking points from pre-season, using some information from 2019/20 and Project Restart to back it up.

As this article uses Opta data, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout Membership package can access it in full.

Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside. I would rank Pulisic and Greenwood higher, then again a draft is different from “value” players in the normal game.

      TAA higher

Best defender by a distance. No captaincy puts less weight on mids. TAA was 4th highest scorer last time I believe. Should be well up the list.

Trent & Kdb will both come in the 1st spot ... then Martial in the top 10 too

I'd keep Trent and Robbo a lot higher.
Reason : I think there will be a huge difference between and 10th highest scoring def.
But for Midfielders you have a lot of choices so that won't be a huge difference

Not sure if it's because the last season finished so recently, and we all had a high TV, but every draft I do at the minute, regardless of formation, feels like it's one player short of being a good team.

What was your TV last season?

Over 105 in the end IIRC, plus also had bargains like Greenwood at the end.

I'm sure it's probably the same the start of every season, but just feels more acute this year with the season feeling like it only finished a few weeks ago.

It’s the same at the start of every season it means the pricing is about right. I had about 107 towards the end of the last season and then you can pretty much have the 11 you want. Trying not to chase TV as much this year but it sure helps rank rise at the end of the season when chips come into play.

But all the players you want would have increase by around .5 to .6 and collectively around 6-7 million?

Two questions following the Charity Shield
      A. Is TAA a real doubt to start GW1
      B. Is Martinez a real option at 4.5

The latter but I am not sure if Ritchie would be in the starting xi this season. Probably one to monitor

Have pre-season games given us any reason to keep or sell son?

Maby not, just boiling down to Son alone, but i think Alli can be good to start the season with.

since i think Spurs will do well from the start. And Alli being 1 M cheaper.

Yeah... Son> Alli & use the extra 1.0 elsewhere. Alli scores in most match day 1 fixtures. A very good record from the last 3 seasons which he started

Read some replies ''dont double up on Saints defense'' in this case McCarthy + Walker-Peters.

I look at GK in isolation,i think McCarthy would do better than Ryan and would pick Walker-Peters anyway.

          My question is,does it matter?

Can anyone suggest me some good 4m defenders and keeper for bench warmer and rotation options?

There’s a left back from Palace called Mitchell who has a good chance of starting. Not guaranteed though
One of the 2 villa 4m price keepers will start as Heaton is injured.

          Struggling to choose between
          A) B.Davies, Son & Kane
          B) Saliba or Lascelles, Salah & Ings

          Rest of team is this:
          McCarthy Nyland
          Justin Gomez Egan KWP
          Auba, Greenwood, ASM, Jota (wolves)
          Werner, Mitrovic.

          What’s reckon?
