Man Utd linked with Chilwell today. I'd take him myself for the reported 10m. Is his knee that bad though?

Perhaps Shaw and Chilwell could take turns being injured, rotation.

We could try for an eleven of knackered left backs, that would be three.

I did think when he supposedly became available though he wouldn't be a bad bet.

The money shortage at United is well documented, otherwise they would be buying Ait Nouri and Wharton instead of risky injury prone LB's and Ugarte on a loan with obligation. I think a fully fit Chilwell is around the same level as Shaw myself.

Issue is Chilwell is as bad or maybe even worse than Shaw, fitness wise.

Shaw's one of the best fullbacks in the league when fit, Chilwell arguably isn't even Chelsea's best. There's a reason why Southgate took a crocked Shaw to the EUROs over a healthy Chilwell.

Oh I agree with that tbh. My comment was more towards if we actually get Chilwell, would be pointless imo. He can't stay fit...

If we manage to get £30m for McTominay, we should get that Kadioglu who Brighton are chasing, with a plan to move Shaw on next season (would still have 2 years on his contract, I think - absolute joke).

Ugarte on a loan + obligation (even better if it's an option) and we'd have plugged a lot of gaps in one window, hard to knock it really.

Issue with Ferdi is that he is right footed, sure he is naturally a LB(despite being able to play as RB and RW/LW as well, but from I've seen when he's played for Turkiye and Fenerbahce is that he rarely used his left foot... and we really need a LB that can cross with his left foot.

Ferdi loves to cut in and try and play through the winger or striker. But as we've seen when Dalot is the LB, the way we attack from the left mostly ends up being with a pass back cause no one can cross with their left.

Ah, I heard he was very much two-footed, so if what you're saying is true that does change my opinion of him a bit.

I might be wrong, but everytime I've watched him, which is like 10 matches or so this season/year, I've never seen him cross with his left.

I think many (myself included) were swayed by the opening fixture, half expecting a rout which didn't happen.

Eze is likely the better long-term pick, given expected minutes, pens, set piece duties and so on.

I see it as simply correcting my heart over head pick for the opening GW.

              According to FPL Stats:

When a player is injured (0% chance of playing), suspended or on loan his price can still change in value. However, once his status has changed again his price will be "locked".

Good post on Arne Slot and early subs.

In Slot's last two seasons at Feyenoord, he went into halftime either drawing or trailing 34 times.

He made changes at halftime (or earlier) in 16 of those games.

      Feyenoord won 8, drew 6, lost 2.

Often the players coming off were high-profile.

The Andersen to Fulham news doesn't feel great if you own Henderson. Palace generally have the feel of a club where people don't want to be there. Guehi may not get his move but his heads probably been turned. Henderson probably isn't the 4.5m of choice after all

Palace already looking for replacements though. One of them being Lacroix from Wolfsburg.

All I know about him is that he's pretty fast and strong, decent in the air as well and decent defender. Don't know how he is with the ball at his feet though.

I'm sure he'll be decent its just that bedding in period into a new league etc. Something about selling some of your better players to London rivals who are likely to be rivals in terms of league position too doesn't feel great. Fulham coming across as the more aspirational club of the two.

Palace happy to sell as Anderson isn't as strong in a back three compared to a back four (like where he's going to at Fulham).

As others have said, they have made immediate bids for replacements so the cub/coach have likely planned for this....

Losing Guehi as well would be a bit of a knock though!

Even if he does get price locked you're stuck with a 14 man squad, 13 if your GK is a 4.0 no hoper.
        Buy cheap... buy twice.

This is true, but you should be able to get by fine for a good while with a 13 man squad for 92m, and the WC available is always a safety net

I don't think so. Think it's more like Foden will be needed at RW more with Bobb out so they want extra cover for the central positions (e.g. if KDB gets injured)

What's the chances now of Walker regaining his starting position or is it a case of a 30 mins run out in the 2nd half just curious of people's views as staying well clear of city defence this season.

Didn't realise Havertz had an xA of 0.35 per 90 playing striker last season, thats huge. A mistake to ignore him at this point? Can just do the same as Watkins did last year and convert 6/7 pointers into 11/12 pointers

yeah but it was still strong for a striker at 0.21 per 90. Striker is the best position to pick up FPL assists as well

      Pickford
TAA, Porro, Muñoz / Robinson, Johnson
      Palmer, Saka, Foden, Jota, ESR

Easy save and play Robinson if Porro out (unless serious), right?

What's Porro's injury? Not listed in PL Injuries. FPL says he had a 'knock' which doesn't sound too bad. But he's reported to have a foot/ankle injury on Sports Mole which is an awful source. A real mole would be more reliable.

He was limping for most of the end of the 2nd half. Can't remember if Spurs could have subbed him off or not, but did find it weird that he wasn't, cause he was struggling at times.

      So is this viable ?

      Raya
      TAA lewis Porro
      Salah Saka Szoboz Bernardo Rogers
      Haaland Armstrong
      4mil Greaves Harwood Jebison

3 city, 3 pool, 2 arsenal, Porro and some cheap enablers

Its interesting if Lewis and Szoboz keep their new roles, while Bernardo could offer value if City keep playing two wide wingers (Where Foden is wide) and he (Bernardo) has one of the central attacking midfield roles.

To be honest Im very tempted by the same transfer. Eze is on all corners, freekicks, pens and was great in GW1. He is the talisman ogf the team. I think he has also better fixtures then Gordon. In the next 4 games 3 are at home.

The upside of not doing the transfer is that you wil get more information after 2 GWs. You might need that transfer for someone else. And Gordon is a good player too.

      Sels
      Munoz - TAA - Robinson
      Son - Jota - ESR - Eze
      Haaland (c) - Isak - Solanke

      Turner - Murphy - Greaves - Faes

Not the best start but it’s a marathon not a sprint.
