          Bruno = IPS (A) and EVE (H) + 3 points
          Salah = SOU (A) and MCI (H)
Also scope for reduced mins for Salah vs. Soton given they play Madrid a few days later

Which GW do we expect Alisson to be back - do we have any news? I have four options to find the money to get Palmer in this week:

    1) Downgrade my 4m keeper to a 3.9m one - this seems a waste of a precious transfer but I can keep Raya and also see what happens with the Liverpool keepers (when Alisson is back etc.) and with the Chelsea keepers (if Sanchez will really lose his place).
    2) Bring in Kelleher for Raya now and then use another transfer in a few GWs when Alisson is back - again seems a waste of a precious transfer but gives some cash to upgrade Barco
    3) As number 2 but with Sanchez and probably Jorgensson but can upgrade Harwood-Bellis then too.
    4) Upgrade Rogers instead of Lavia, in which case I can do it with 1 FT this week but I think Rogers is a season keeper

I could also forego Palmer this week and get him next week but I think this is silly given that he will likely return and return big this week against Leicester.

Not sure he’s just a 70 minute man…think that’s a bit harsh. Capable of playing 90, as shown last game. Haven’t owned Rogers all season and have wanted to. Prefer him over Semenyo and ESR until I see otherwise.

        • 8 Years
        1 year, 18 days ago

Damsgaard at 5.0m, playing 70+ mins and in a Brentford team capable of scoring is the perfect bench player in case I need. I’d rather have more money on the pitch.

    8. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year
      1 year, 18 days ago

I'm genuinely curious what you saw in Villa that makes you want to play Rogers AND Watkins every week. Champions League has taken a toll on them.
And your alternative is Damsgaard, when you already have Mbeumo, meaning 2 players from a team that is terrible away from home.
And to get that you sacrifice Arsenal defence?
      I don't get it.

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 8 Years
        1 year, 18 days ago

What’s so special about Arsenal defence?

To be honest, I can’t argue against Villa assets looking unappealing. They’ve got a tough Champions League schedule and are struggling for form. But I back Emery and the fixtures are decent. Watkins is a capable, explosive differential. Rogers is a great value pick. Damsgaard is not a starter, and won’t be. But I think he’s a good option if anyone was to miss out in this hectic schedule or 5 yellow cards.

        1. Athletic Nasherbo
          • 8 Years

I also think Watkins is due. 4 leaky defences coming up, even if Watkins is benched in one.

Several red arrows in a row calls for desperate measures. Would you do:

Haaland, Mbeumo and Johnson to Salah, Bruno and Isak for a -8?

If not wait for City to play spurs then decide on Haaland

Isak will be at home to West Ham, Salah playing Southampton and Bruno at Ipswich. Could be a big points swing

And Haaland could net a hatty. Its Spurs.

Vicario had a shocker and Haaland scored a hatty in the Nations League!

No. Probably only Mbeumo & Johnson out.

      B. Only cause I am selling Saka this week for Salah.

No need to WC this week right? Haaland, ESR and Robinson have good fixtures. My only concern is Palmer but it's just one week and I wouldn't captain him anyways.

    Henderson
    Gabriel Gvardiol Robinson
    Salah Mbeumo ESR Rogers
    Haaland Solanke Cunha

    Who'd you prefer:
    A) Isak + Martinelli
    B) Pedro + Saka

B is safe, probably the route people will choose. A is risky, Martinelli not so nailed.

*Yikes not interested in this options, Pedro isn't even nailed either. I wouldn't pick Pedro or Martinelli except you want to risk it.

Thanks. Think Martinelli potentially gets a bit more interesting if Trossard is injured (though haven't seen any update on the extent of it tonight yet).

If you look at last 4 Martinelli starts (GW6/9/10/11) vs. Saka in same period:
          xG 0.99 vs 0.75
          xA 1.00 vs. 1.06
          4 big chances vs. 1
1 big chance created vs. 5

Semenyo & ESR are looking sharp. Quite prefer them to Martinelli.

I had Martinelli last season, it didn't go well even kept him longer than I should. I suggest you wait & see if these stats yield fpl points unless you want to gamble early. We're at a crucial stage of the season.
