After reading this article (thanks Neale), Gvardiol or Virgil?

If your other defenders are Gabriel and Konaté.

I don't think premium defenders are worth it this year, but Gabriel of those two (based on fixtures)

Sorry misread - Virgil of the two mentioned

I won't necessarily do it, at least not this week, but it's an interesting choice. Selling Haaland has freed up the cash but FTs are at a premium.

I think go for a cheapie as your third defender and rotate with another cheapie. I think Gabriel and Konate is premium enough. But if I was going to go another premium I'd choose Saliba and double on Arsenal

Have Raya & Saka already; Robinson 3rd defender and his rotation partner is red-flagged.

    From GW14 onwards:
    A - Welbeck + Mbeumo
    B - Jackson + Johnson/ Maddison (-4)

    1. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year
      1 year, 11 days ago

I wouldn't buy any of Johnson/Maddison exactly because I don't know which one. Too much guessing involved.
Mbeumo doesn't have great fixtures and Brentford are terrible away from home, so I don't like that choice either.

It is worth adding re: Mbeumo that Brentford change formation in away games against better teams. They like space to hit in transition, which is why we often see Mbeumo do better Vs big teams than low blocks where he goes wider.

    1FT, 0.6 ITB, thoughts:

    Flekken - Valdimarsson
    Gabriel - Ait-Nouri - Colwill - Greaves - Bednarek
    Salah - Palmer - Mbuemo - Semenyo - Rogers
    Haaland - J Pedro - Strand Larsen

    A: Bednarek to Van Hecke
    B: Haaland to Isak
    C: Roll / other

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/youri-tielemans/elfmetertore/spieler/249565

Rogers scored 2 from 3. Scored recently for England U21.
Watkins scored 4 out of 9. 3 out of 5 for Villa.
McGinn scored the only one he took for Scotland a year ago.

Decent chance it might be Rogers methinks.

In an attempt to rescue a disastrous season, how about this double hit

Haaland, Semenyo, Rogers -> Pedro, Salah, Saka.

Would be first hits of the season. My cautious data-heavy approach hasn't worked thus far. Sensible or daft?

Got 2 FT and the need for Saka, what do you think?

    A) Johnson & Watkins > Saka & Jackson B) Johnson & Wood > Saka & Pedro
    C) Johnson & Watkins > Saka & Pedro + $ in the bank

B would have to be soon as it's exact cash (seems like the best one although I've got loads of value in Wood as a gw1 owner and it could backfire)

Defence looks thin. If Ait Nouri gets a suspension you'll have to play a 4.0m defender. And even one of them is out right now.

1 game data sample where Maresca was forced to make a tactical change due to Gusto being ill shouldn't change folks opinions on Palmer as a FPL pick imo

Just to say, it's not like he was too prolific in the previous games as well

99 times out of 100 he scores a goal in that game. Extremely unlucky that Madueke got in the way. And that goal woukd probably give him 8 points, completely changing the narrative.

      1. No. If you want to get one this week and the other next week I'd lean Saka first.
      2. Not for one week, but if it's a long term plan and fits your rotation then maybe.

Thoughts on this 1st WC team post GW18? Feel like I would need Salah & Haaland from then on

    5 premium draft:

    Henderson
    Hall Dunk Kerkez
    Salah Saka Palmer Rogers
    Haaland Pedro Evanilson

    Fabianski Dibling Pau Mykolenko

Looks fine, long time until then though. Many things can change. Injuries etc.

Salah is "disappointed" that Liverpool have yet to offer him fresh terms...

"I'm probably more out than in," Mohamed Salah said about his Liverpool future after the team won at Southampton.

If he leaves in the January window it will blow FPL wide open.
Everyone is back on Haaland and has palmer+saka as well.

If he doesn't sign a new contract, he will leave for free at the end of the season for the signing bonus rather than for a fee in January imo.

It won’t blow it wide open. If anything it will make more template teams as all will have those 3 you mentioned

Why don't we all agree to sell haaland, so he can drop massively and be affordable for everyone, lol

The game is so much more fun when it’s a choice as to whether to have him or not

His price is perfect. And hopefully it will continue to be his price for as long as he’s in the league

Just gutted we've got so many enablers this season though - Cunha, Pedro, Welbeck, Rogers, etc all firing and making it possible to have a threemium (some even with fourmiums) team was pretty unforeseen.

Stick Salah at 14m (if he stays) and bump Palmer and Saka up to 12m and let's really 'ave it next season.

      Is it?

      - Triple Arsenal defence over Saka
      - Jackson in the mix
      - folks still stubborn on Haaland

Haaland FOMO is a terrible thing. First 10 mins of the spurs game I was certain he would get a brace minimum. Then suddenly it changed completely.
Also his high ownership is worrying. Now somewhat less in the top 1M.

Only 0.13% of the game have this combination of players (0.52% in the top 100k)

Template players maybe, but I'm not seeing a strong template team yet. Defences in particular are quite varied.

Leaves money for Mbuemo to Salah next week.

I'd want Salah ASAP really, massive game at the weekend to take them 11 points clear and City are spiralling. He's got a good record against City too.

    Who's goes for Saka?

    A. Madueke good long term fixture run
    B. Mbeumo on pens good next fixture
    C. Bruno on pens good next fixture

Madueke the least nailed of the bunch and the only one not on penalties.
