Palace pretty handy away from home recently… perhaps Glasner is the play with table bonus proving even a draw can lead to decent points

Tough picking between Arteta, Iraola or Glasner from Slot

Brave going Glasner going up against a Fulham team doing well at the Cottage.
I’m on Slot too, no idea what I’m doing yet.

I only have 1 FT and also have Amad/Rogers to deal with but feels that manager points should be the one I focus on this week. Slot is ok at a push if I had to hold…

Fairly sure I’m moving him to Arteta for the safer and more likely 10 points. Don’t hate Glasner at all, but feels like the gamble it is. Prefer Hurzeler to Iraola though.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Leicester nick a draw. Friday night under the lights etc. Not picking Frank over Arteta/Hurzeler.

From what we saw yesterday would you switch from Emery to Arterta? Playing at home vs sleaky Chelsea could pay off. Your thoughts?

I think if you have a couple of transfers available and aren’t needing to hold them for 29 then the Arteta switch probably worth it

Villa have literally no defence do they? Disasi cant play. Konsa was still a doubt. No Kamara or Onana shielding whoever does play. Would imagine it'll be Bogarde and Mings? Defensive midfield? I'd be surprised if Chelsea don't score a couple even with their issues

AM may depend on whether you have to weeks or one week left. If 2 then I think Glasner looks the shout, as likely he has 2 table bonus games so will save you a transfer. Also depends on your risk appetite, and whether you are FH 29 or not and need to save transfers. I'm not FH 29, have two weeks left, and want risk, so am currently 60%

Dithering on an additional hit hurt, did Moyes > Emery -4 but thought Gakpo might show instead of another hit for Watkins 🙁

Holding Emery or moving to another like McKenna or Glassner is this weeks conundrum for a hit ?

I don't know how to link to other users' comments, but someone suggested the following:

      - Build for GW29 with FTs
      - WC 30
      - AM 31-33 (Newcastle DGW)
      - FH 34 (blank GW)
      - BB 36 (likely DGW)

If you wanted to get AM out of the way earlier and chase the table bonus, you could do AM 26-28.

      Glasner 26
      Pereira 27
      Ange 28

In the Arteta v Glasner dilemma there's a decent chance that Arsenal score a few and keep a CS. Compare that to a Palace draw with table bonus (which is more probable than a win) and I think Arteta gets the nod.

    1. The Iceman
      • 3 Years
      10 months, 1 day ago

Agreed, if I was playing AM I would go for Arteta this week.

    2. Tommy Template

If you think Palace can draw its probably worth going there on the off chance they do win because Artetas ceiling is probably 12 (4-0 win) but I'm expecting lower given the attacking issues/injuries, Palace draw would be minimum of 9 for 1-1 anything else is 10+ so its very close but the ceiling for a Palace win is 20+ so it feels like a good reward vs the risk of Arteta beating a draw by the odd point.

      1. Jet5605
        • 11 Years
        10 months, 1 day ago

Yeah good analysis. I think Fulham are a tough nut to crack whereas Palace tend to be more streaky. I also think West ham are pretty bad and you could imagine the likes of Trossard doing well. It's a very tight call. The regret in not going for Glasner (in the event of a Palace win) would hurt.

Best part of AM is chasing the bonus, have to be proper boring to pick Slot / Arteta.

      1. Tommy Template
        • 11 Years

I'll happily hold my hands up and say I've probably got the chip wrong but there is a good chunk of hindsight in that and I had my other reasons too which I don't regret so much (wanting to get it out of the way/forget it). Its true the table bonus is unlikely but what I hadn't fully appreciated was that the premium assman managers with 'banker' fixtures are close to equally as unlikely to win 3+ games over the length of the chip which you kind of need to compensate for lack of bonus.

        1. x.jim.x
          • 11 Years
          10 months, 1 day ago

As with any element of this game, it’s about calculated risk.

Moyes and Emery had more than a decent chance of getting something out of those games, plus they both had a relegation fodder “banker” as bonus.

          1. Tommy Template
            • 11 Years
            10 months, 1 day ago

I think in my own mind I'd over estimated the likelihood of Liverpool winning 3 of the 4 games they'd had so far rather than 2/4. Again there is hindsight in that, Liverpool are certainly looking more wobbly now and weren't so much in the run up to 24 and that is a complicating factor with the chip. One injury or suspension for example to a key player in the 3 gameweeks can change the entire outlook for their prospects.

            1. x.jim.x
              • 11 Years

Playing that many games in a short space of time is always going to catch teams out, unless you have a squad like prime City.

Doesn’t help that backups like Nunez and Jota have been really poor this season too.

Away fixtures for 3 of the 4 possibly a big thing too. In isolation 8 points for Liverpool (not AM) from a run that had away games at Villa, Bournemouth and your neighbours is a good return but not a great return for the AM chip.

The safer option would be to change in 26/27 to Frank for LEI (a) & EVE (h).

The high risk/reward option would be Pereira in 26/27 for table bonus in both games BOU (a) & FUL (h).
