The ScoutCast – Episode 40 – The Two Of Us

That’s 40 down, just 255 to go before we beat that “Last of the Summer Wine” episode target. We’re only 7 behind on jokes though – the 213 mentions of wrinkled stockings only count once.

Fresh from the international break, Mark and I leave Andy and Akers behind to sneak back into the studio, only to find that someone has pilfered out podcasting furniture. Improvising with some handy white goods, the show goes on to bring you the usual array of regulars that inludes another “Miffed” from my good self, a bandwagon round-up in “All Aboard” and of course the “Weekend Preview” in which we desperately try to snuggle up to Mark Lawrenson high up on the pundit prediction fence.

Help yourself to this aural treat via this link and explore the other 39 episodes right here.

Alternatively you can stream the goodness direct using the player below.

Editors NoteThis podcast mentions both Man City’s Kolarov and Arsenal’s Fabregas before we got today’s news. Sadly we failed to find our crystal ball and our time machine was on the blink.

Daniel.mf - as you are consistently season after season high in the rankings, what would you do/change without spending any more?

Option 2 are all on the Scout watchlist

      Basically you're going:

Newcastle - Sunderland - Wigan - West Brom

Then one of Man Utd or Everton. Coleman isn't guaranteed starts, far from it in fact when everyone is fit. O'Shea looks like he could figure a lot this season. Option 1 looks better to me.

Mornin all, WOW Kieron Dyer back in the frame!! Time to build my team around this playmaker :-D. Thought I had it sussed all week with the plan of GBH-Fabs, so now that that looks out should I use my transfer to sort out my def or leave things alone and have 2 nxt week. Was planning on downgrading cham next week to free up some funds too

Tough one. Can anyone see blackpool breaking down city?, I cant see sunderland scoring without their top strikers but a clean sheet could be a possibility, and spurs just dont look good away. So if it was me I'd go with mummy. I know people say you should go with a mid over a def but he is an oop after all. But the way Ive been calling things Adam and VDV would prob then go on to score 2 each

I like your tinkering Damo. The thing is that I am gonna have VDV next GW for certain, so posibbly is worth to hold on Bale one mogre GW? My plan is all tree of them and I have only 0.1m to maneuver .

Anyone else see Blackpool getting a win vs Citeh? I'm thinking Tevez>Berbatov would be a smart move albeit not a popular one

      Mark thinks so.

I prefer Berbatov to Tevez, certainly this gw. But what do I know?

I'm doing that switch, Berb is cheaper, Rooney's crock and Little Pea isn't playing, so can invest more elsewhere

Much prefer Berbs over Tevez at the moment, even more so with the Rooney situation. Tevez keeps moaning about his life, and I'm also worried about Adebayor potentially coming in a ruining things. When he's come on the last few games, Tevez has been pushed out wide and looked ineffective.

I can see it being a tough game alright. But I would be kicking myself if I got rid of Tevez and he scored a hat trick. I'd never be able to live down the "But he was playing against Blackpool?? What were you thinking!".

Can't decide whether to captain him though.

Na he'll start, there was something on here about houghton going for a 4-4-2 with sheola and carroll up front. And houghton was also going on about how carroll was all fired up after signing a new contract

Here's my team for this week

    Hahnemann (Foster)
    Salcido | P.Jones | Perch (Shawcross) (Konchesky)
    Malouda | Nani (C) | Bale | Davies (Barton)
    Drogba | Tevez | Carroll

1 free transfer and 5 million in the bank - want to save enough money to transfer Fabs in

Anyone care to comment my team?
Should I do a transfer or save it for next week?

In his usual Thursday afternoon update Wenger stated that match fitness was a concern with his skipper stating…

    “Cesc is very, very short"

He later acknowledged that much the same could be said of Arshavin, Wilshere, Walcott, Sleepy, Dozey and Bashful.
