Put up your feet, pour yourself another glass of mulled wine and grab that tin of Quality Street. After all it is christmas, and after all we’ve got another match to take in as we round out gameweek nineteen just as soon as it starts.

The Dugout Discussion closes it’s door for no-one and a festive game between Arsenal and Chelsea are no exception. Just nineteen weeks down and Arsene Wenger finally gets to start his two key players – Cesc Fabregas & Robin Van Persie – together for the first time this season, while the likes of Walcott finally get a start after weeks waiting patiently on the bench.           I'm swaying towards Fabs -> Gerrard but only due to Liverpool's fixtures. Is he likely to play an advanced role for 'pool? Nasri is a thought as he could be on freekicks/pens if RVP gets rested and he is on form. hmmm

    Would like to play NZog for a 4 man midfield but struggling to decide which of my 4 defenders to drop if any?

      Yes, play N'Zogbia.

      I'd say the odds are more in favor of Arsenal conceding than a Sunderland cleanie against a rested and raring to go Blackpool side.

      Arsenal will probably lose this Wigan game too, coming 48 hours after a big win against Chelsea, so N'Zogbia could have a good game.

    With Arshavin being benched I'm thinking time to get rid as I don't want a rotating player, even though this could be with Nasri as well. I have 2 transfers and 0.6m in the bank.

    Is doing Elmander - > Welbeck this morning worth a 4 point hit?

      Not in my opinion.

      Elmander is still Bolton's main goal threat, whereas Welbeck is really Sunderland's 3rd choice striker.

      Over the season Elmander will outscore Welbeck by a considerable distance, I think.

    Hi, could you RMT please, i have 1.8mil in the bank, my team is:

    Foster (Al habsi)
    Samba, Coleman, Vidic, (Simpson) (Baptise)
    Malouda, VDV, Bale, Nasri, Nani,
    Drogba, Carroll, (Welbeck)

    I'm doing Samba out this morning, to man u or liverpool defender (will Samba still play?). Rivals have put in Rafael, could he be rested? in which case i'm looking at konchesky or Kriyiakos, will either of them be rotated, i heard agger is nearly back?

    then i'm thinking of doing each week leading up to DGWs:
    Malouda to Gerrard,
    Nasri to Adam
    and at some point before the DGWs drogba to Rooney.

    hows that plan look?

    Pretty happy with my team, only one thing missing - a big, fragile Fabs shaped hole. After this GW thinking of taking a 4 poiny hit to do:

    Nasri > Fabs
    Vidic > Rafael

    Only thing worrying me is will Rafa continue to play every week? Is this transfer a good one overall?

    Balotelli needs to go he's been absolutely rubbish. Putting Tevez in now, and leave litte £ to get Cesc back in the team for next gameweek, or a cheaper Balotelli replacement now and have no prob getting Cesc back in? I currently have 3,5 in the bank and 1 free transfer.

    already got VDV in. No free transfers. Still 5.9 in the bank. What u think about my team and what to do next?

    a) Upgrade defence? Maybe rafael in?
    b) Midfield? bale/nasri -> Cesc?

      When you use a wild card all free transfers are wiped. I think it starts GW 23-27.

      Only nailed on starters are Song and Fabs. The rest is Wenger's lottery.

      Chamakh and RVP will be rotated, unless one of them is in particularly good form. With Nasri playing the way he is at the moment, I can't see him being dropped, Arshavin would usually start and Walcott come off the bench but that could change if Walcott's form picks up. I imagine all 3 will start this week with Chamakh up front
