Introducing The ICT Scout Index

Filed under: Site Features - Posted by: Mark

Yesterday we launched the ICT Scout Index for our Members. This is immediately viewable via the dashboard on login, with top 10’s displayable for both the current Gameweek and the season as a whole. Obviously, right now, this is based on last season’s data.

Read on for more details on what the ICT Index brings to our Members’ offering…

What is the ICT Scout Index?

Basically this is a football index created specifically to assess a player in Fantasy terms. It uses the statistical data already available to Members to create a single score for three key areas – Influence, Creativity and Threat. These scores then combine to create a single ICT Scout Index score.

In basic terms the ICT index will help to make our statistics easier to digest. The individual index scores help to measure a player’s importance to their team and to a match (Influence), a player’s likelihood to earn assists (Creativity) and to score goals, or at least get in goalscoring situations (Threat).

Index scores will be generated on a gameweek basis and cumulatively over the season for all players. All the usual statistics are available, but Members now have an easy route to identify how players are performing across the key statistics – they can go straight in now and start analysing players based on last season’s data.

The index, like any football index, will require tweaking as we go. Even so, we feel that it’s a valuable addition for our Members and offers us plenty of material to discuss in a series of new weekly Members articles.

How Can I View the ICT Scout Index?

In addition to the Top 10 standings on the Members dashboard, the full index is available within the Fantasy Index tab for Player Stats. You can view the index by position or for all players.

By default this offers a cumulative view of the Index totals – however, Members can also slice the data by a given gameweek or a range of gameweeks and view average Index scores per appearance using the Advance Filter Options.

The Player Profiles (available by clicking on any player), also offer a complete Gameweek by Gameweek breakdown of a players’ Index score. Using this, you can analyse trends and assess how a player is developing in terms of Fantasy potential as the season progresses.

We will of course, use such breakdowns in our regular articles to help you identify those players in form according to their ICT Scout Index scores.

  1. My other "final" decision (ooops)

First player to get 5 votes wins a place in my side:

    A) O'Hara
    B) Sinclair

    1. i will go for o hara

    2. I have the same decision to make. O'Hara is the safer bet but I'm leaning towards Sinclair. He'll warm the bench for the first match, then Swansea have two decent home games back to back. If he hasn't produced by then, he's out!

  2. O'hara is better

  3. rmt:

    Kenny
    Riise/Vidic/A.Cole
    Hoolahan/Silva/Cabaye/Adam
    Ba/Fletcher/Gervinho

    Al-Habsi/Walters/Gorkss/Elokobi

    1. where can i improve?
      some1 pls..

      1. Looks really weak.. Maybe take some money out of our defence and look to jump on RVP/Drogs/Rooney

        1. thanks

  4. RMT
    Where can i improve?

    Krul (Given)
Rafael, Hughes, Kompany (De Laet, Brown)
    Young, Silva, Moses, Eagles (Albrighton)
    Rooney, Dzeko, Ba

    1. Similar to mine.. Really like it

      1. Rafael could be rotated! Start with Albrighton he should be a star thi year. Dzeko is a little bit risky... hope to score.

  5. 2.0 in bank ( lukaku or drogba for GW 2)

  6. Okay lads, this is is:

    RMT:

    Given (Ruddy)
Cole / Kompany / Hughs (Orr, De Laet)
    Nani / NZog / Silva / Moses / Jarvis
    RVP / Dzeko / Lita

    Any improvements/concerns?!

    1. Who will be on the bench?

  7. cant nake my mind up, rooney/van persie?

  8. Guys! First time playing FF...
    RMT with suggestions if any

    Given (Foster)
Komapny Brown Enrique (DeLaet & Simpson)
    Moses Nani N'Zogbia Silva (Eprahim)
    Carroll Rodallega Drogba

    3 million in bank

Should I beef up my defence or will this line up do

    1. Brown to Bosingwa or A.Cole

      1. hmm... and i was thinking of spreading the money evenly on defence

  9. PLEASE PLEASE..anyone how os it lookin!!!????

    given (ruddy)
    hangeland kompany alcaraz (simpson)(enrique)
    nani malouda ramsey taarabt (ferguson)
    carroll rooney campbell

    1. Not bad. There are some other option for mid and defense, but you could try also yours... For me is better to start with Enrique than Alcaraz.

Also think about Ferguson to Tiote or Dyer

      1. need to find 0,5 for dyer or tiote!!

    2. I really like this team. leave it as is!

      1. cheers !!!!!!

    Squilacci Jagielka Distin Baines
    Obertan Jenas Kranjkar Gibson
    Owen Keane
