The Big Numbers – Gameweek Twenty Three

With the Gameweek settled and the Reebok woodwork still reverberating from the efforts of a luckless Robin Van Persie, it’s time for our Members to soak up a selection of key stats from our Opta data. As usual, we’ve also thrown in our take on how the Fantasy Premier League bonus could pan out…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Because he's only started 4 in the last 8 because of injury/suspension.

Otherwise he would have no starts. The logic for getting rid was there.

If HBA continues to play like yesterday then R Taylor will surely start every match at Right Flank.

Looked pretty clumsy, kept misplacing passes but did offer some threat going forward. The assist was a reasonable but fairly aimless cross into the box which was inexplicably headed in by Warnock and he fired in a shot from the corner of the box to the near post. Will need some time to adjust to the PL but should get some reasonable attacking points. Problem is where QPR clean sheets will come from as the defence is newly cobbled together and will take some time to get used to playing together.

I didn't see the game to be honest but I'm sure you'll probably find out on the QPR forum! I just think they'll create chances - away to Blackburn the week after too, whereas Newcastle are away at Spurs.

Not sure why you're defending him. OK so he's a mid classed as a def playing OOP and is good at free kicks. But he's not that good a player. He's also the jammiest sod in the world. Lucky to get an assist this week, lucky to get a CS this week, lucky to be playing OOP, lucky to be even playing; if everyone was fit he wouldn't be and this would be a happier place as we laugh at the casuals still hanging onto him.

Try watching a match when you don't have him. Also, agreed he is an inept defender, but I've watched him place balls (get your mind out of the gutta) on Ba's chest time after time, same w/ Shola...the kid's got a decent foot, Pardew's a grinder and somewhat predictable...I've got a mil in the bank Riise going out Verm comin in and Raylor staying right the f*ck where he is...

See a lot of people talking about their 'main rival' on here e.g. "My main rival has Krul and Raylor coming off the bench grrr!" or "My main rival forgot to make any changes and has Walters as captain!"

Just out of curiosity, do people classify their main rival as the person most likely to prevent them winning a mini-league or is it their brother/best friend/etc. who they are determined to finish ahead of regardless of anything else?

No reason for this, just wondering 🙂

You just can't compete with people (like the person who has just gone top of my ML) who play Krul and Raylor away from home and end up with 20 odd points from them plus any bonus! Oh, and had Sinclair 1st on the bench coming on.

The person in question hasn't even played the game before so I couldn't even class them as a rival.

This season more than ever has catered to the casual player and has propbably been my most frustrating season playing this game.

I never use the term really, but I'd say my best mate in my mini league. I don't care so much if I don't win, so long as he doesn't either.

I was 100% wildcarding BAE to Huth last week, then thought I would keep BAE for one extra week then transfer (plus I need a 0.1 rise from him).

Now it's got to the time to change, I am sceptical on Huth.

He should score and he has some good fixtures coming up, but Europa does concern me.

Guys - a quick question about Stoke.

Am I right in thinking that Sorensen plays in the league games and Begovic in the FA Cup / Euro Vase?

I'm mulling over Lindy > Stoke keeper since they have 3 home games coming up ( even though they're a bit weaker than in previous years ).

that's what I did this past week, when the Dane f*cker decided to twist his ankle on my WC week...

Of course I then went ahead and started Vorm...

Good move I reckon. By the time stokes nice run is finished you'll know for sure whether Lindy or DeGea are in nets for United too and if its Lindy he'll still be at 4.6/4.7 max...

Just noticed, QPR has 12 f*cking strikers on their FPL roster; WTF??

Also, is Zamora certain to 90, or should I just get rid for Ba, I have Ade who goes to Liverpool, but there's a voice in my head that says he usually comes good against this type of competition. I also have RVP...

They do have a lot of Strikers but they're all rubbish apart from Bobby Z so I reckon he's a certainty.

I did both this past week.I say keep Sturridge for the rising differential, but if you're worried about losing money on Daniel, then ship him out for Ba. I think Ox and RVP go mental, time is hopefully running out for Walcott and Ramsey...they are literally crippling my team. I also have Zamora (got caught out there without a way to take him out of my team at the 11th hour) not sure how much he will play with 12 strikers...sucks to be Macheda...

yeah the ox looked our best player on the pitch from what ive seen yesterday! the guy who im trying to catch at the top of my mini league doesnt have ba so either is a good differential. think zamora and cisse will be QPR's starting strikers every week

feel like cisse/zamora would be better than ba at least for now. i would personally lean towards cisse. when playing at the top level, he's scored a goal every 2.2 matches. zamora has scored once every 3.7 matches. sure, stats are malleable, but zamora doesn't have the "bobby row z" nickname for nothing, and that's borne out by the comparison above.

liking the look of the ox, but hba has significantly better fixtures and will most likely get as many minutes as ox.

I can sell Sturridge for 7.1 and I have 0.2 in the bank - and don't really want to take a hit (if I can help it). But a reasonable chance of Ba scoring 4 more than Sturridge so will do it if I have to.

Would be surprised if he's as prolific as he was before he went to ACON - but that's a pretty high benchmark. But at that price it's definitely worth a shout.

He's on the bench at the moment. Feels so wrong, but I don't see Fulham producing a whole lot at the Etihad while I think Sunderland could easily get all the 3 points at Britannia.

McClean better odds for anytime scorer (McC 3.75, Demp 5.5). Fulham far more unlikely to keep a clean sheet than Sunderland too.

But I would say the overwhelming favourite is for them both to get 2pts.

People on here keep saying that Stoke are "tight" at home, despite conceeding 12 in their last 7 home games, 4 in their last 2. I'd like to know what their definition of "leaky" is. Can see Sunderland scoring a couple at least, they're in great form at the moment, I'd definitely play McClean.

I've had a decent week largely thanks to captain Sess once again

But now with two free goes i just can't see what to do??

      Why dont you like Walters?
The dry patch means this is the time to keep him imo, those home fixtures will likely bring the overdue points.
Also, Stoke, Newcastle and City are all at home in GW 26 so removing Enrique isn't really needed for you.
I'd swap fletcher for someone other than Fletcher, Wolves are woeful.
Gamble on Robbie Keane or, the YAK is back next week with decent fixtures.....
