The Big Numbers – Gameweek Thirty Seven

Yaya Toure’s magnificent brace of goals looks to have sealed the title for the blue half of Manchester. United did their job against Swansea with a routine 2-0 win, but must now rely on relegation threatened QPR to earn a result at the Etihad.

With Monday’s Ewood clash and Chelsea’s trip to Anfield still to come, here’s our pick of the key statistis so far in the Gameweek, together with our take on where the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus could be heading…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Couldn't help but notice the guy with the highest points haul for the week with 83 points (Brendan) has managed this feat without having made a single transfer or used his wildcard, I find this very impressive (also a tad fortunate) and his team is no bad either!!! Have a looky at your leasure fellow Fant Premmers....Thought this was worth a mention 🙂

Tactical. He was pretty poor tbh. Passing was bad, he was getting frustrated, he was already booked. And seems like Fergie wanted to give Berba one last match at OT.

Not much left to play for now though. Top of my mini-league by almost 30pts with a better looking team. Ranked almost 3k so highly unlikely I can break any milestone like the top 1k.

Top 1K has to be tough. I think a top 10K is a fair go for most, it's only a few good captaincy picks between.

I have to say that Silva looked the better played to own that Nasri based on yesterday's game.

He had a good chance to score and countless dangerous passes. He won't explode against QPR next week but there's a good chance of 5+ points.

That said, Yaya looks the player to own*

(*If Mancini decided to push him forward at the expense of Tevez/Silva/Aguero/Nasri at some point)

I thought he looked a bit better yesterday, but see where you're coming from.

On reflection I think I may end up just benching Dempsey and starting Siggy. At home to a tired LIV could give him chances. Not sure anyone's worth a hit to start in front of him...

Don't think utd will go for goal difference, and even if they do they're playing a solid Sunderland side. No chance of a massive score line.

We were actually going for it yesterday- as shown by us grabbing the ball out of the net and legging it back to the centre circle. Didn't make much difference did it!

it's the last GW. why not. tho i wouldn't have K for a hit. there are far better options in attacking than investing at a Def for a 4 point hit. Torres Mata Moses etc.

    Current mids/forwards

    Pienaar/Moses/Dempsey/Bale/BenArfa
    RVP/Cisse/Adebayor

Sufficient money to swap out anybody for almost anybody.

BenArfa looks like the weak link, I think. Who do I purchase...

Fair enough, that was actually part B of the question for another day, then time to mull over the two choices.

Congrats btw on the Elite 64 thing, looks like you won?
I think I'm in decent shape to win the FPL Open, unless Jose Enrique goes mental and Moses gets shut out.

Either Pienaar or Bale could end up riding bench if right person came in, Pienaar cuz Newcastle on fire, Bale because he has done squat for some time. Hard to bench Dempsey right now, even if on road, because of his form.

Fair enough Desertbug. I suppose it all depends if your defence is strong and if you are chasing in ML or in front. Bale at home with Spurs chasing 4th place might be an error but you're right about his current form. If you were to bench him may as well get rid for the extra funds as it's last week.

Not chasing in ML, just running for highest possible final finish. Sitting about 3,000 right now. Already have 7.3 in bank, after selling off appreciated assets towards end of season for hotter players.

Cisse > Aguero suggestion below is decent plan, but I don't necessarily trust my Toffee defense against Newcastle speed on attack, so am a bit leery of giving up on Cisse. They've been susceptible to that kind of offense, I think.

Currently stuck with running out Vermaelen/Caulker/Kelly on defense, so could maybe sell off Kelly or JEvans and replace with Kompany for final week.

Have money to do both, if I wanted to take 4pt hit

Just looked at your team, very good rank too. I am probably going to bolster my defence this week, I have two free but no money so I'll wait till Saturday to decide I think and try to work out what H2H rivals are doing first. Good luck with yours.

Hi Guys help would be much appreciated,

managed to cut the gap in my ML to 13 points. Am thinking Rooney > Aguero for the final GW my rival has rooney & i think its a gamble worth taking. Also people think its worth taking a hit to get more City coverage? Maybe Silva or a defender & for who?

Vermaelen WBA (A) Enrique SWA (A) Hibbert NEW (H)

Bale FUL (H) VDV FUL (H) Pienaar NEW (H) Dempsey TOT (A)

get Djibril in. If he scores you will sort of mathematically be 12 points better off - Risk of the season though.

Not sure im brave enough for that. Food for thought though. I think after BPs it will be more like 5 or 6 gap hopefully. I have RVP captain & also hoping for points from dempsey. Cant see him getting many BPs either

Probably a good judge - I felt daft suggesting it to be honest.

I have the same hopes for BP's.

Going back to the original conversation - Aguero in - Roonster out is a must (& make him capt.) That should do the trick.Good luck

    Howard, (Mig)
    Terry, Verm, Kompany, (Caulker), (Evans)
    Valencia, Bale, Dempsey, Sig, McLean
    Jelly, Rooney, VP

    Thoughts on either:

    A). Bale & Jelly -> Aguero & Moses
    B). Rooney & Valencia -> Aguero & VDV

Assuming RVP gets the 3 Baps today he will be left needing a 20pt game to beat Lampard's highest fpl score in a season. Not very likely but certainly doable, hattrick, assist and 3 baps
