Semi Finals – Day Two – Dugout Discussion

After back-to-back goalless draws, we’ll be hoping for a little more entertainment tonight as Germany square up to Italy for the right to meet Spain in Sunday’s final. As always, we’ve opened up the Dugout Discussion ahead of this evening’s match.:

The team news is now in and is as follows:

Joachim Low makes three changes from the side that defeated Greece 4-2. Lukas Podolski and Mario Gomez both return after being dropped, though the inclusion of Toni Kroos in the starting XI is something of a surprise. Andre Schurrle, Miroslav Klose and Marco Reus all drop to the bench as a result.

Cesare Prandelli makes a single alteration to his starting XI. Giorgio Chiellini is fit after a thigh injury and returns to the side at left-back – this means Federico Balzaretti shifts over to the opposite flank in the back-four, with Ignazio Abate the man to lose his place.

Germany XI: Neuer; Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Lahm; Khedira, Schweinsteiger; Kroos, Özil, Podolski; Gomez

Italy XI: Buffon; Balzaretti, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Marchisio, Pirlo, De Rossi; Montolivo; Balotelli,Cassano.

      I don't see any value in any players requiring hits. I think I will have 10 players.

      But having said that, it's only a game, and it is the final afterall, so I'll probably take the hit.

    Man!! Who is this 'ROSOL' guy???? Amazing forehands in display....almost 100 miles an hour....giving one hell of a fight.....even the great NADAL is left standing at times like a mere spectator.....go and have a look if u r not watching

    Balotelli owner here.. but gotta say it was a fluke.. German supporter since the day i was born, had 3 German defenders.. yet said what the heck, blaotelli's fun to own so i bought him. Still gutted bout germany though

    CONGRATS TO ITALY both in the real and fantasy world!

    Ozil's late penalty brought us close, but Italy won 108-96 over Denmark (us) with the difference Milanista's 5 Spanish CS and Balotelli's two goals. Extremely well played and he gets the credit he deserves.

    Thanks FFS UEFA for a great tournament. And special thanks to Light Knight who has been a brilliant, reliable teammate both in playing fantasy football and writing about it.
