In Development – The Stats Compare Tool
Filed under: Members - Posted by: Mark
The “Stats Compare Tool” is the current work in progress for the Members Area. We’re hoping to have a first iteration of this new members feature available by the end of next week, at which point we’ll turn our attentions to producing new event maps on the Match Dashboard and Player Profile.
The Compare Tool has been a long-term aim. It allows for direct comparison of two players, across over 100 statistics, with an instant representation of which player is stronger and in which areas.
The tool fully incorporates our stat maps so, right now, you can compare Average Positions for any two players and, when we’ve added further maps, this will be extended to events like Shots, Crosses, Chances Created and a touches heatmap.
Those maps, along with all the stats in a player comparison, can be fully sliced by our filters. This means you can compare two players over the “last four Gamweeks”, their “last four matches” or compare two players home or away record. You can even take a single player and run a comparison home and away, or compare his form so far in 2012/13 to his previous season’s data.
We’re also adding the ability to switch to average values so you can see minute per event stats for all the numbers shown, leveling the playing field for the comparisons.
The tool will be accessible via the Members Area menu and we’re hoping to provide shortcuts to running player comparisons in the Player stats tables and in the Player Profiles. A compare button will immediately take you to the tool for the players, or player you’re viewing or have selected.
They’ll hopefully be more news on this development, plus a movie previewing the feature, at some stage next week.

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”

Alot is unknown at the moment with Walcott etc but I’d say right now it would be;
Song-Arteta-Wilshere (Rosicky until he is back)
Walcott-Giroud-Podolski
If Walcott leaves then I’d say Podolski on the right, Gervinho on the left.
I rate Giroud from the few matches I’ve seen of him, and think he will be a far better signing than Chamakh was. I reckon he could be good for 15-25 goals a season but who knows really!
July 8 at 11:50 am

he is stupid if he moves to Real
why would he pick Real bench over Chelsa or Spurs ?
July 8 at 11:47 am

He won’t be on the Real bench. They play 60 games a season so even if he doesn’t start every single game he’ll still play 40ish games.

Scroobius Mac says:
*so he will be on the Real bench but so will every player at RM bar a couple of players.
July 8 at 11:48 am
FORCA INTER says:
that’s what i though but a lot of ppl told me that he dont stand a chanse to play aslongside Kedhira/Alonso
July 8 at 11:57 am
Scroobius Mac says:
I know we play him deep and he’s very good but you can push him further forward as well. He can rotate with Alonso/Khedira/Ozil.
I don’t see the need to sign him mind you but if they do it’s not to be bench fodder.
July 8 at 11:52 am
Coldplay - Krohn-Delhi A True Legend says:
not 40ish, 20ish. Can’t see him displacing anyone in Real’s midfield. he may start for the unimportant games. Joining Real would be a mistake I think.

thetinkerman says:
I think the question doesn’t have a simple answer. Like most teams with strong squads, they will likely have 2 players competing for most positions. Who actually plays any given week will depend on a player’s form, if there are any other fixtures in close proximity to the game being played and whether they are doing well in any cup competitions.
All answer are purely speculative!

I’m getting Hart instead of Kompany as the latter will be around 8m this season. Not sure about Kagawa yet, need to see if he gels into the starting 11 and what happens to Welbeck. Will probably risk starting with Torres and one of Mata/Hazard. If Bent is less than 9 I will pick him. Not sure about Silva or Aguero, they will be the most expensive players but you got to have one of them.

Ferguson – N’Zogbia – Johnson – Arshavin – Adam
Suarez – Torres – Tevez
Special mention for Bendtner – for being Bendtner
Any changes, for any reason you like……I hope to learn from this…..

never fell in the Drenthe trap but agree for those you did he must’ve been tiresome….

little_wizard123 says:
Ferguson was good as he was cheap, and he played a few times I think!
Drenthe has got to be there. People like Gerrard and Lampard frustrated me as every time you think they’re going to do well, they don’t. They just tempt you by their previous seasons…

Jafooli says:
Gerrard & Lampard sort’ve priced themselves out the market a bit a bit for me…….but understand & agree where you’re coming from…
July 8 at 12:48 pm
little_wizard123 says:
That’s what made them worse – their high price take almost acted as an incentive to get them as you think they had a higher chance of scoring higher. I managed to stop myself most of the time…

Shay Given.
I agree with Torres, he really messed my points up last season with the number of times I chose to captain him. Suarez also. The rest I didn’t have in my team, Ferguson – what did you expect from the cheapest midfielder in the game? N’Zog was under the wrong manager.. I think the likes of Huth, Hangeland, etc will score better this season.
July 8 at 12:28 pm
Jafooli says:
Ah yes Given……thankfully gave up on him pretty quick once Krul & Vorm came to the party….
I never actually had Ferguson, just sort of annoying so many did…….

Tevez wasn’t frustrating one bit
VDV, Drenthe, Kolarov, Dzeko, post ACON Ba, Sturridge
Ferguson wasn’t frustrating, he delivered what was expected and those that thought about it stayed clear.

Lampard for bench warming and Zamora for not Scoring.

Gervinho's Forehead says:
David De Gea scored a freekick in training, for the Spanish Olympic squad. I’m presuming Spain will get to the final so I’ll be staying clear of De Gay 1.

Gervinho's Forehead says:
I don’t see what’s so good about De Gea if I’m honest. Makes too many mistakes for a 17/20m GK.

He’s alright, but I wouldn’t put him up there in a list of world class keepers (yet). I’d prefer Joe Hart in my team.

Eng-er-land expects...nothing says:
If Mark is out there, an article listing all the Premier League players involved in the Olympics would be much appreciated so we know who to avoid for GW1.
All those involved will have their pre-season schedules/training disrupted and anyone who has recently moved teams won’t be on the same wave-length as their team mates or fit into their style of play to start the year.
