Sky Fantasy Football Arrives At The Scout

We’re delighted to announce that the Sky Fantasy game will be our second supported game this season, with an official Fantasy Football Scout League now open, complete with a rather nice prize for the winner.

The Scout League will go hand in hand with an array of coverage of the Sky Fantasy game for the upcoming season. You may have missed Sky’s early launch last week: the headlines are, the game is free to play and there’s £25,000 for the overall winner.

Over the season, we’ll be producing a weekly focus on the movers and shakers within the Scout League, giving airtime to those at the top of the leaderboard and the standout performers in any given Gameweek.

Prior to the big kick-off, we’ll also delve into the rule set and roll out our analysis of player picks over the next few weeks before the season gets underway on Saturday August 18.

As far as prizes go, the overall Scout League winner will pick up a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 – not to be sniffed at. We’re also hoping to get a monthly prize sorted, too; stay tuned for more on that.

      Michael Connolly book? If so it is great. I have read all of his books - after reading that one first I read all the Harry Bosch books in order.

        Yep Connolly. It's worth getting "The Narrows" so yeah? I have "The Lincoln Lawyer" too I was given off a buddy to read, any good?

          Yep, the narrows is also good. All the books in the Harry Bosch series are intertwined with lots of repeat characters showing up in many of them.

          The Lincoln Lawyer is also decent, part of his mickey haller series. It is better than the film by the way!

    The Sky Fantasy Footy is terrible.

    Played it last 2 years and the lack of bench players and only 30 subs for a season is rubbish.

    If anything a good fantasy game should be one you can interact with as much as you can not as little as this one allows you to.

    Points updates are slow and the interface to see your weekly points is just horrific.

    Hard to understand and just poor all round.

      points updates were poor last season, was annoying you couldn't check back and see how many points each player got in a certain gameweek.
      the rules are a decent approach imo, swings and roundabouts, makes you pay for always chasing points.
      ...and stops silly late night transfers as you can't afford to waste any

      I think it also plays to a different market, FPL players that DO NOT want to interact quite as much as they do in official game. I could see some of my mates that have failed to responded to the 'real' game being swayed more to get involved with the Sky one.

    Goalkeepers get points for a saved or penalty even if it's off target in this game. I'm a big fan of that rule. Have brought this subject up on here for at least four consecutive seasons and always been shot down. It's a smarter, simpler and more logical rule than basically penalising keepers for making the PK takers shoot off target.

      Many PK takers totally bottle it, nothing to do with keeper, a professional footballer should hit the target from that distance.

        Perhaps they should, but it's much more likely they hit it wide if the keeper makes himself look big or gets the taker nervous in other was. It's a one on one duel and it's strange to only award the winner at certain times.

      i think it's a bit messy garg. maybe it's a simple approach but then it's like intentional assists and lucky assists, did the guy just miss as he was poo or did the keeper sike him out. think i prefer the fpl approach

        Don't you think unintentional assists should count, or how do you mean? I actually think FPL use my point of view on assists because they try to award every assist.

          i meant that it's messy giving pen saves for simply a rubbish penalty but i guess they already give assists for "a gomez" (v denmark) so on that basis maybe you're right, penalty save/miss points should be the same. basically i accidently contradicted myself 😳

    They're not updating the transfers etc as quick as you'd think they would be. They haven't added in Vertonghen yet, Fabio & Ji-Sung Park apparently still play for Man Utd.....sure there's many more. I know it's all still going off etc but I'd have thought Sky would would be well on top of that sort of thing.

          Considering Kagawa could be around 8 I'd be more tempted by him than spending nearly 1/10 of my budget on a Premier League newcomer.
          Hazard really does seem a class act though, probably will have him regardless.

    To me, the fact that they are telling us some of the player prices suggests that they are still atleast a week away from releasing the game. They're probably just telling us some of the prices to stop us from bombarding them with e mails.

      If anything them doing it this way is more annoying for me personally. They already have finalised player values so it's probably interface / technical problems which mean it can't be released now. They could give us the player list/values and we'd all be happy.

      Asking for a lot but a bit silly that most other places are ready yet FPL aren't even close.
