Monitor – Gareth Bale

With Eden Hazard flourishing and attracting huge Fantasy investment, Tottenham’s Gareth Bale is already in danger of becoming a forgotten man just a couple of Gameweeks into the season. The Welshman returned double figures for both goals and assists last term and began the season hotly tipped to contest the top position in the midfield rankings. However, already we’re seeing Fantasy managers lose faith, no doubt shifting allegiance to Chelsea’s Belgian.

The arrival of Andre Villas-Boas has, to this point, failed to spark Spurs and Bale has epitomised their slow start to the season. With a hefty price tag around his neck, it’s clear that Fantasy managers cannot sit still on an ailing heavy-hitter but are the doubters right to shed Bale and move on?

  Many reasons:
  
  That what I've done before as you are made aware that half the team you start off is dross by week 2. Why fall behind and play catch up.
  
  Had my eye on half a dozen and they've already gone up about 1.0 since last Saturday... you snooze, you lose.
  
  I like clicking them in and out. I'm a sucker for 'playing' this game.
  
  Will I regret it later? Well I just have to use some of the skills and tips I've picked up over the years to deal with events!

  Yep. To out Rooney/Lamps/Fabio/Begovic/Federici/Guthrie and Siggy. Got in RVP/Hazard/Rangel/Howard/Rudd/Al-Hamdi/Kagawa. Team value flown up this week too.
  
  If I hadn't of I would have had one free with Rooney/Lamps/Guthrie/Torres not playing, and Clyne and Fabio about to get murdered this week! So it was the right choice for me.

  Yes, he was training and all. This 'fitness' thing is a touch overhyped. He might need a week or so for full game fitness, I agree; but he hasn't been doing needlepoint for the past two months, either.
