Signed in the transfer window, both Steven Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov have wasted little time in acclimatising at their new clubs, turning the heads of Fantasy managers.

Placed snugly in the mid-price bracket, they both look to offer strong solutions to the third striker slot in our squads with other places reserved for expensive heavy-hitters. In that scenario, many Fantasy managers have been forced to choose from these two players – both take form, decent fixtures and almost identical price tags into the coming months.

          1) Both good options, but having been an avid fan of Foster/Begovic, along with GreenWindmill, I have to say Foster.
          2) Their defence is shot to pieces so I think there are better options at that price.

    For those considering Bale due to his good stats for shooting, just beware that he averages a goal every 5 shots on target (or so) based on the figures from this season AND last season... not so impressive. I was really set on getting him back in the next two weeks but that's a bit off-putting.

      14 shots and 11 chances created so far, it's good sustainable numbers. Brought him in the week before last instead of Hazard due to the fixtures and underlying stats. Hopefully those numbers will translate into points soon. He still scored very well last year.

      Though I accept the shape of the team was different last year.

      I've had Clark since the start so am biased ... decent goals / game ratio before this season started so I don't think his goal at Newcastle was a fluke - expecting a few more this season, personally.

        3 in 5 isn't AMAZING at the JJB - and they all came with Man Utd behind him, rather than weirldy homesick Fulham. (Although I'm sure they'll pull themselves together away at some point... In fact I saw them beat Wednesday at Hillsborough in the cup a couple of seasons back - so it can happen!)

            Minus Yaya and maybe Duber.

            Id consider other options around Yaya's price to have higher upsides, Yaya has never scored more then 150 points in a season due to the mins he plays in the DEF mid position,

            Barfa would be a great option at a similar price.

            As a Pod owner, id say now is not the time to hop aboard. Wait till the fixtures clear up a little. After that, he is possibly a season keeper. Ba short term and hold the money would not be a bad lil option.

                  150 points for 8.0m is not exceptional value. At that price imo your looking for a player with upside. Last year, Barfa was averaging around the same points as the 9.0-9.5m players. He looks to be creating chances again this year. Over the course of the season, id fancy him to outscore Yaya. Plus he covers Newcastles fixtures and attacking coverage!

                  Dyer is a good 5th midfielder alright, but not better then Michu imo. He is a slight rotation risk and has not recorded the same striker rate as Michu in his career. Thought it's debatable if Michu at his current price is worth it (id err towards not and prefer Pienaar due to the next 9 fixtures.)

                  Maloney imo is a better option for the 5th midfielder slot in your case. All imo of course! 🙂

                I think it's flair as all get-up, Doosra - and I am looking forward to owning him myself (really dislike Hazard so won't be owning him) - but it's too early for me yet. Having said that your front 8 in that pick can clearly cope without him starting for a *while*. You got the feeling that a UCL game was more the speed to have him start in, and he does have lots of competition. Surely he'll turf out fat frank in no time...

Teams are too similiar at the moment... if you wait there will be a new flavour of the month in October/November...You'll have an advantage over everyone who has already used there's on the flavour of the month of September...

    Ok, I really want Vermalen+Maloney, but is 0.1m short, so I am pondering other options.

    A) Gibbs+Maloney (leaves me with no newcastle coverage)
    B) Pienaar+Taylor (I have Baines already, and leaves me with no Aresenal coverage)
    C) Vermaelen+Kacalinic (I have Berbatov already, but this gives me Verm that I really like for long term)
    D) Other options (in that case what?)

    I am on wildcard, so none of those would be for a hit.
