The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Four – Santigold

Out of his pajamas and back in the studio, Granville and I reconvene after another dull international break to resume ScoutCast duties.

Arsenal’s new playmaker dominates, with the pair of us coveting Santi Cazorla’s charms and competing for his affections, whilst, in the back of our minds, wondering if we’re being taken in.

Robin Van Persie also gets some oxygen – don’t worry, that’s not oxygen treatment – he’s just the subject of this week’s discussion as we chew the fat on the “essential” debate that appears to rage on as the Gamweek’s roll by. The regulars all find their place amongst the merriment, as heat is turned up on the mini-league and mini-game struggle between myself and Mancunian magic man.

Grab the fools gold via this link, or stream it now via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ask the fag butt in the ashtray that will+ if you break it down to its smallest particle, enter a place_ that is infinite- as if you take a straight line away from you and go on forever _would it ever end and if it doesn't ever end _then infinity may well meet the end of the smallest particle(ignore string theorists) and will like the fag butt meet in a place that will probably be as insignificant as your a** hole------barring the fact that the atom and--etc etc

I am so gonna regret sticking my neck out there 😆 I just think West Ham are particularly stubborn at home and will be stoked up to fight potential relegation battlers. 5 in the middle, choke the game. Liverpool on the other hand should really tear into Reading.

Still given Lambert is Southampton's primary goal threat maybe I should backtrack a bit and say they're about equal.

                  RVP Suarez Lambert

and i'm still thinking about downgrading the midfield to upgrade the attack. The problem is that are are great mid-priced options in the midfield and attack, which ones do you pick?!

Exactly the same forwards as me. You've got a strong midfield, may be unwise to tamper with it. If I had to make a change it would be something like Mata to a 7.something - possibly Ben Arfa - and Suarez to Aguero

Torres and Cazorla IMO. Torres is now a genuine contender up front because the problem was more the supply, not him, and now it's fixed. Caz is Caz.

BTW can hardly find a better person to ask about this, do you see great returns for Lambert in next few? I don't watch Saints often enough to know exactly how involved he is but I got him in on the simple logic that I believed he'd be their main goalscorer and they score lots of goals. Have had two games without points from him. Still sound?

He's involved in everything. I'm not just being biased, why Adkins subbed him off against Fulham is anyone's guess. Keep the faith. Penalty duties nailed on and shooting free kicks.

Yeah I was puzzled why he was subbed off. Adkins is great for going attacking but some of his subs were bizarre, taking Puncheon off for example when he was causing so many problems for Riise.

I understand that Cazorla is being talked about a lot but why does noone seem to see the risk of him not playing? After starting Spain's first game, and playing around 75 minutes in the second game, Wenger must be considering to rest him. And add to that that Arsenal have a midweek champions league game whereas the game this weekend is a relatively easier game where Wenger can afford to rest Cazorla. Anyone have any thoughts?

Well podolski, gervinho, giroud are all fresh after the international break and with a game vs norwich, wouldnt you take that opportunity to rest him? He might be a beast (playing all 38 league games for Malaga last year) but with champs league and more games for Spain, im personally too scared to sub him in so im gonna hold off and hope for the best. Hopefully he wont start or he does nothing before getting subbed out early

He is truly a unique player. In a league of his own in terms of shots and goal threat. His conversion rate however remains a controversial issue. I like owning explosive players though, so he made the cut (and rewarded me with 22pts in two gameweeks)

I don't like the bandwagon though. Reminds me of one a couple of years ago. Player had consistently failed to perform for a couple of years fpl wise, started a season well and suddenly was pick of the bunch until people realised that every now and then a blind chicken finds a piece of corn. Toothpaste ? Im thinking big Sam will have spent the last fortnight drilling in the "don't concede" mentality he's been banging on about, also, don't see spurs keeping out Chelsea myself

Some surprising omissions from this list. 😯 Where's the verminator and it appears to be Hughes getting on the end of things and not Hangeland

I think the main problem with these tables are that they look at this season and many players are overperforming. Like Verm will start getting shots soon.

I can't agree about Verm, he might, but the new defense tactics make the CBs stay back more often now.

True but I'm going to keep check on my tables to see if there's pattern to the new entries. This way it'll show me what I've got to look for when finding the next gems.

If you had 4.9 to spend on a defender, who would you go for?

Than Wilson, Cuellar or Gorkss if you could use the cash. In that order

Already have Cuellar too! But yeah it's gotta be either Hughes or Wilson.

Below 5.5 for defenders and below 6 or 6.5 for mfs I think.
