Monitor – Hatem Ben Arfa

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Paul

A series of eye-catching performances in the last few months of the previous campaign had Fantasy managers queuing up to acquire the services of Hatem Ben Arfa. Having struggled to convince Alan Pardew of a regular role in the Newcastle starting XI, the Frenchman finally flourished on Tyneside as Newcastle moved to 4-3-3 but while a shift back to 4-4-2 has benefitted Demba Ba this season, Ben Arfa hasn’t quite delivered.

The opening three Gameweeks had looked promising. Notching in each of his first two home matches, Ben Arfa seemed set to rack up the points but since grabbing his side’s only goal in the Gameweek 3 draw with Villa, his Fantasy owners have been served up nothing more than a solitary assist.

Then I would say Cuellar or Nelson, unless you want to double up with Stoke which would be fine

I’m leaning towards either Cuellar or Nelson, any opinion on which is better? Cuellar looks better long term but Nelson’s fixtures over the next three are good

Prefer Sunderland to QPR to keep cleanies. I have Nelson but planning on keeping him benched mostly, will be getting Cuellar in shortly. In time for the string of easy home fixtures and DGW.

I have had Cueller and Saylor from the beginning of the season. Simpson maybe the safest bet to rotate with Cueller.

        Eddie says:

Bah, that’s what I feared and what people on earlier told me. Was hoping someone with Pardew’s ear could tell me otherwise as it will allow me to get in Tony V/Theo Walcott for Nolan.

Saylor played in the Europa league right before the league match. Idk how Pardew will be using him in the future. Santon is the safest bet. Saylor gets injured a lot.
