Just a reminder that this weekend’s fixtures provide the qualifying round for our seventh FFS Paddy Power Cup. The tournament is free to enter and there are prizes for top three teams, plus the Quarter Finalists will qualify for our first Fantasy Football Scout Shield later in the season.

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

Read on for details on the Paddy Power cup but, if you’re a veteran, you can go straight here to make your entry.

When does it start?

The qualifying round takes place in Gameweek 10 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday November 5 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1018 (plus 6 previous winners who earn a bye) with the top scores in Gameweek 10 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 11. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 6

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 10
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 11
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 18
  • Gameweek 19 – Break
  • Quarter-Finals – 8 teams – Gameweek 20
  • Gameweek 21 – Break
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 22
  • The Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 23

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the Quarter-Finalists from this tournament will gain entry to the Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will play the eight Quarter-Finalists from this season’s Members Cup. Should any team qualify for the Shield from both Cup tournaments, then the highest scoring losing team from the last sixteen of either cup will gain entry to complete the FFS Shield entries.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

    2. Ouch!

      • 2 years, 25 days ago

        • 2 years, 25 days ago
        1. Foster, Begovic
          Baines, Rafael, Cuellar, Davies, Demel
          Mata, Santi, Bale, Morrison, Guthrie
          RVP, Ba, Berbs

          Almost as bad...

          • 2 years, 25 days ago
          1. we are in for a good week

    4. Does it matter? Mata is injured now... :(

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
      1. Mata is??? Great news.

        • 2 years, 25 days ago
  4. I've hardly been on here for the past few weeks. I'm sure i've missed out on plenty of debate about whether Rooney is a good option to cover man utds nice run of fixtures. Anybody care to help me out and give me a quick summary? I could do Kolarov + Suarez to Nelson + Rooney next week (4pt hit). Cheers

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. They look like good moves to me, thinking of getting Roon myself, to go along with RVP

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    2. I will get Rooney if that is any help :D

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    3. Rooney looks like scoring as many if not more than RVP at home/easy games, but significantly less away. Question is whether the price makes up the difference.

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  5. Hi guys - which one to bench out of O'Shea, Baines, Rafael and Nelsen please.

    • 2 years, 25 days ago

  6. A. Sagna and Valencia or

    B. Rafael and Walcott?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
      • 2 years, 25 days ago
      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. ooo tastey i would say B.

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    2. Nice question, nice boobs. I'd say B, but i'd wait until we see whether Walcott is nailed on.

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    3. This will be the big question all next week.....Valencia vs Walcott.

I'd go A as Utds def is real pony and Sagna & Walcott have about the same attacking pot. Also Utd have RvP to score goals and Arsenal have....

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    4. Or, wait to see whay happens with Walcott as GB says. If not nailed on, then how about Cameron and Valencia and use the spare cash elsewhere

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    5. Cheers. I actually fancy B but with Evans but wont pull the trigger just yet

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  7. Valencia or Walcott FT this week ?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. What does it matter? Mata is injured now... :(

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
      1. Because it would be for Mata probably

        • 2 years, 25 days ago
    2. If Walcott stars he could light up that game. Very tough choice and I don't know the answer.

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    3. Valencia imo.

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  8. Mata -> Bale for FT

    Sterling 1st sub

    Do or Don't?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. for free I would definitely do this

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    2. Yes malaka do it already ;)

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  9. Is Vermaelan to Huth/Shawcross worth a hit ? Any advice is appreciated!

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. No

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  10. Santi -> Valencia or Walcott this week for FT?

    Walcott have been scoring goals

Valencia play for manu , good fixture

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. Save it for this week, Caz could well outscore both of them, and that logic would usually convince me to hold

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  11. ok couple of questions

with cuellar a doubt I have Hangeland ahead of clyne on the bench.. agree?

I am playing mcAnuff ahead of Sterling.. agree?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. Agree with Hang, not with McAnuff

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
    2. i agree hangers ahead of clyne

But i would play sterling ahead of McAnuff

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  12. i notice Torres is due another drop...not flavour of the month at the moment...well not for two years now...but at 9.8 surely even he can notch plenty in front of the Chelsea team this season...can't he ???

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  13. Suarez berbatov ba , am I mad to consider suarez(c) ? He is scoring in ccup , league and natiOnal ?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    1. no...i have him and i'm considering moving on for Torres...He is down as a bad finisher because he needs a lot of attempts to convert...but surely that just means the goals will come...eventually..and plenty of them. I'd be more worried about Ba drying up than Torres or Suarez taking off...or maybe not...

      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  14. Is Invanovic banned for the Swansea Game or not??

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
      • 2 years, 25 days ago
  15. Fed*
    Vertonghen(vc) | Baines | Riise
    Sterling | Bale(C) | Pienaar | Cazorla
    Torres | Ba | Jelavic

Subs: Foster | Maloney, Clyne, Reid

    Good to go?

    For GW12:
    Vertonghen > Cuellar/O’Shea/Gorkss
    Torres > Rooney/RVP

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  16. I reckon there might be one or two in this position, so I'm going to set out my problem and subject my thinking to the abuse and mockery it probably deserves:

    Problem:

    1. If I keep Mata and he does not play then one of Britton, Gorkss, or Clyne will: 2 points at best.

    2. I have earned 0.1 on Mata and bought him at 9.2; chances are he will be back at 9.2 by next Friday (he has dropped from 95% to 86% on Fiso in the last few hours).

    Solution:

Switch Mata for Valencia (whom I want in anyway). If he scores 6 or more I pay for the hit, and I can get Mata in next week for Cazorla without a loss of value (assuming Cazorla does not come good this weekend). The only loss in that scenario is that it will claim next week's FT, but of course I was likely to use it to get Valencia anyway. Downside, of course, is that Valencia could return a 2.

    Thoughts?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  17. So after I do Vorm > Julio Cesar tonight, team will be:

    Julio Cesar - (Begovic)
    Baines - Walker - Hughes - (McCartney) - (Stam)
    Cazorla - Morrison - Walters - Noble - (Pienaar)
    RVP (C) - Aguero - Berbatov

Good to go? Any other suggestions?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  18. What you do think

    Begovic

    Baines, Rafael, Hangeland

Pienaar, Michu, Hazard (vc), Nolan, Sterling

    RVP (C), Tevez

    Subs: Jussi, Lambert, Clyne, McCartney

My 2 FT's will be (Friedel --> Begovic and Lescott --> Lescott) - sound ok?

    Good to go?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  19. No RvP or Bale and I can't decide who to captain among Tevez, Ba, Berba, Caz, Haz, Michu, Pienaar.

    Any thoughts?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  20. Play Sterling or Barfa?

    • 2 years, 25 days ago
  21. Just entered. Considering I have endured a woeful season up till now, can't see me pulling up too many trees with this. Nevertheless, appreciate the competition.

    Good luck all!
