Just a reminder that this weekend’s fixtures provide the qualifying round for our seventh FFS Paddy Power Cup. The tournament is free to enter and there are prizes for top three teams, plus the Quarter Finalists will qualify for our first Fantasy Football Scout Shield later in the season.

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

Read on for details on the Paddy Power cup but, if you’re a veteran, you can go straight here to make your entry.

When does it start?

The qualifying round takes place in Gameweek 10 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday November 5 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1018 (plus 6 previous winners who earn a bye) with the top scores in Gameweek 10 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 11. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 6

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 10
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 11
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 18
  • Gameweek 19 – Break
  • Quarter-Finals – 8 teams – Gameweek 20
  • Gameweek 21 – Break
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 22
  • The Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 23

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the Quarter-Finalists from this tournament will gain entry to the Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will play the eight Quarter-Finalists from this season’s Members Cup. Should any team qualify for the Shield from both Cup tournaments, then the highest scoring losing team from the last sixteen of either cup will gain entry to complete the FFS Shield entries.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

no…i have him and i’m considering moving on for Torres…He is down as a bad finisher because he needs a lot of attempts to convert…but surely that just means the goals will come…eventually..and plenty of them. I’d be more worried about Ba drying up than Torres or Suarez taking off…or maybe not…

    Eunuch Jelly says:

I reckon there might be one or two in this position, so I’m going to set out my problem and subject my thinking to the abuse and mockery it probably deserves:

    Problem:

    1. If I keep Mata and he does not play then one of Britton, Gorkss, or Clyne will: 2 points at best.

    2. I have earned 0.1 on Mata and bought him at 9.2; chances are he will be back at 9.2 by next Friday (he has dropped from 95% to 86% on Fiso in the last few hours).

    Solution:

Switch Mata for Valencia (whom I want in anyway). If he scores 6 or more I pay for the hit, and I can get Mata in next week for Cazorla without a loss of value (assuming Cazorla does not come good this weekend). The only loss in that scenario is that it will claim next week’s FT, but of course I was likely to use it to get Valencia anyway. Downside, of course, is that Valencia could return a 2.

    Thoughts?

So after I do Vorm > Julio Cesar tonight, team will be:

    Julio Cesar – (Begovic)
    Baines – Walker – Hughes – (McCartney) – (Stam)

    RVP (C) – Aguero – Berbatov
