Moneyball – Leon Osman

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Chris Glover

One of the highlighted players in Moneyball was Chad Bradford, who looks nothing like what scouts and fans imagine when they think about a pitcher. When he throws, his hand drops down so low on release that his knuckles literally scrape the floor. That unorthodox appearance meant that teams ignored him despite his impressive underlying numbers, until Billy Beane and his statistical staff looked beyond Bradford’s funky delivery, focused on the process and reaped the rewards. Today, the short, skinny thirty-something Leon Osman is Chad Bradford.

  1. 1) Gaston Ramirez + Berbatov
    2) Oscar + Jay Rodriguez

I really want all of them. No fair.

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
    1. Whoops. Sorry

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
    2. I'd say option 1 but only because Ramirez could be the real deal and Berba is solid.

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
      1. Thanks

        • 1 year, 5 months ago

  5. Rage, already used free transfer

    Ruddy, Federici
    Baines, Rafael, Wilson*, Clyne*, Clark*
    Mata*, Michu, Sterling, Guthrie*, Pienaar
    Rvp, Suarez, Tevez

would you wildcard if you were me?

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
    1. No, just sort out Wilson.....and Clark.

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
  6. hey guys thoughts on this team?

    begovic
    hangeland rafael clyne
    michu pienaar bale hzard
    aguero RVP C berba

    sterling , jenks, demel

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
  7. Begovic
    Baines, Cuellar, McAuley
    Sterling, Cazorla, Michu, Pienaar
    Tevez, Lambert, RVP (c)

SUBS: Ruddy - Mata - Clark - Demel

Save the FT? 0.9 in the bank. Looking rather weak without Mata. Could also do something with Lambert and Demel. Original thoughts were to do McA -> Nelsen, but with Demel's injury I will have to scrap that.

    What'cha think?

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
    1. Most will disagree, but I'm sticking with Lambert. Decent enough fixtures coming up to warrant showing some faith.

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
      1. Yeah, been thinking about that, myself.

        • 1 year, 5 months ago
      2. Totally agree with the fixtures, unfortunately, seems a worry just how many of those he'll start

        • 1 year, 5 months ago
        1. He'll start every home game and most away games I reckon....to stay up, they need their main man firing....I don't think Adkins will continue with his brainwave of leaving Lambert out

  8. Is the boss about?

    • 1 year, 5 months ago

          • 1 year, 5 months ago
          1. consistent but looking for something spectacular!

            • 1 year, 5 months ago

    Valencia Bale Michu Ramirez Sterling

    Ba VP Aguero

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
  10. A. gorks and Mcanuf
    B. Nelson and Maloney

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
    1. Nelson and macanuff not an option!?

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
  11. I just got in Morrison for Gervinho (kind of regretting it now I see Yacob is 50-50).

I'm depending on Clark playing as my third defender (away to Sunderland). Should I:

    a) Wilson -> Rafael, for a hit (really want him at some point)
    b) Demel/Wilson -> Super-cheapo, like Nelsen, for a hit
    c) stick with it

    Foster

    Ivan - Baines - Clark (?)

    Bale - Caz - Sterling - Morrison

    Ba - RVP - Berba

    (Maloney, Demel, Wilson, Non-playing GK)

    • 1 year, 5 months ago
    1. 1.5 in bank

      • 1 year, 5 months ago
