The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 10

The midweek Capital One Cup ties lit up our week like a firework. Although some teams fielded second string potential over their star talent, Fantasy football’s movers and shakers were still smashing the goals in. Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and a certain Theo Walcott were all in bloom. The question now is whether the midweek goal avalanche will spill over into our weekend’s Premier League action, or will they all get a “touch of the Sunderland’s”?

As always, our “Flutter” selections demand goals from some of our Scout Picks starlets, so let’s see how kind Paddy have been with the markets we threw their way…

Gareth Bale is yet to “explode” as a Fantasy asset and yet he has still managed three goals and three assists. Opponents are perhaps all too familiar with his by-line dashes and weaving runs into the centre and often double up in an attempt to neutralise the Welshman’s galloping runs. The new dad looks to have taken his game to another level of late, though, dominating much of the midweek tie at Norwich – Spurs’ eventual defeat will leave a bitter taste and with a tired Wigan outfit turning up at the Lane, Bale looks good for returns. We’re going to bite Paddy’s hand off for 4/1 on a Bale goal and a Spurs cleanie in this one, so £6 of our tenner is spent.

Whilst Reading suffered embarrassment to Arsene Wenger’s resurgent youngsters, QPR put their feet up and counted the goals flying in with a wry smile. The R’s now play host to the battered Royals on Sunday, hoping the visit of Brian McDermott’s beleaguered outfit hands them the perfect chance to notch a first league win. Adel Taarabt is backed in the Picks this week and Paddy have the Moroccan to score with a QPR clean-sheet at 11/2. Although at first glance this seems a little skinny, fatigue may well put pounds in our pockets as we place £2 of our tenner on this.

West Brom’s James Morrison finds himself right up there with some of the Fantasy heavyweights this term as he revels in his new attacking role behind the lone striker. The Baggies have collected four clean-sheets, whilst Morrison has profited from three assists and two goals thus far. Scout Pick Morrison is 7/1 to score and help make a fifth clean-sheet on Monday against Southampton, and with stats on our side we’re willing to risk a couple of quid on the longer odd.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

really nervous for this week, any advice would be highly appreciated.

    jaask

    cuellar zabaleta cole(gorkss, hutton)

mata, sterling, noble, bale (c), (guthrie)

    aguero, ba, RVP (VC)

my bench is terrible with big doubt over mata and small doubts over ba and cuellar. Already used my FT so anything now would be -4. Thinking of hitting the WC but really wanna keep it for later.

    HELP

Stand firm, many in your position. Weather it out.

I have 3 crocks on my bench, and maybe 2 out of my 11 starters.

Yeah leave off the wildcard... WC is worth a lot more than 4 points so would do a hit if anything. Ba and Cuellar might play. Everyone on sunderland forum expect Cuellar to play...

Posted this on the last page but fancy Santi to do well today. His best returns of the season have come away from home, and in trickier fixtures: Liverpool, Man City. His PPI for those games is his strongest of the season.

Fancy him to get some sort of return today. Arsenal could easily win the midfield battle and create space for him.

Hazard is a great option for today now Mata is out. He will enjoy the extra onus on him to deliver. Fancy him to score.

Thought this interesting, no mention of Gerrard on the watch list, yet he is picking up points fairly consistently, only 5 behind Mata iirc and on all set pieces for Liverpool.

Not sure id get him myself, but he probably justifies a shout out in that 9.0+ range.

Hi guys, wildcard week - i have posted previously. Just want to re-cap and get last minute opinions from you all. Constructive criticism appreciated:

    Begovic (McCarthy)

Baines Zabaleta Nelsen (Baird & Clyne)

    Mata Bale Morrison Sterling (Fellaini)

    Tevez RVP Berbatov

I could upgrade Zabaleta to Evans and downgrade Morrison to Lallana for southamptons good fixtures to come? Also looking to transfer Baird for Cuellar as Fulhams fixtures tough soon.

Mata seems unlikely to start, mayhaps worth starting with Oscar then transferring him to Mata next week?

I still have Ryan Bennett. Should I play him in the hope that he plays most of the game today (STO), or play Wilkinson instead (nor)?

Worried he'll come on as sub as usual.

Horrible feeling to go into this gw without rvp or rooney but injuries forced me to make another move.
