The Numbers Game – Attacking Full-Backs

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Mark

With clean sheets so scarce again this season, Fantasy managers have been largely forced to look to their defenders for attacking returns. With budget options also proving popular acquisitions, there is a drive to identify those defenders who can perhaps offer supplementary points to add to those rare occasions when they can keep their opponents at bay.

Thankfully, the role of the modern-day full-back in the Premier League also appears to have changed, with the emphasis now on joining the attack and helping provide a stream of opportunities for others.

In this latest article for our members, we cast an eye over those full-backs who have recently impressed in this area, assessing those most likely to deliver those occasional assists that can make all the difference to our Gameweek totals.

Was just watching this article from a sports newspaper(warning: not very reliable information) where AVB and Bale talked to this referee about those diving yellows and AVB, in Bales defense, said that most of them were made so Bale could avoid some injury that could put his carrer in danger. Furthermore this piece ends up saying that Bale has been injured for the past 2 weeks but he´´ll be available for the next match though starting on the bench.

Doesn´t give much more than that ;) at the end of Bales tweet, but it does give a bigger picture of what´s to happen Sunday.

I was getting annoyed trying to figure out who to bring in and I think it’s because none of the players for this week I really want especially when Bale/Mata are back on the agenda next week. FT is getting carried over.

    I Have Enrique,Ridgwell,Demel as a backline this week…(all injured)
Add to that i have Fletcher who’s dropping today so i must get rid if i want to say some cash…
Thinkin abt my forwards more than my backline…
1 ft 3.5 milll in the bank.. Fletcher—>Suarez Yay or Nay?

I am probably going to do it, and also have def issues to deal with.
Off out in half an hour or so – planning on making decision when i get back in later.

Suarez looking likely, but I don’t like him and his last 3 have been poor.

Depending on defence choices I may end up with Tevez or Defoe for the price.

      Dude, Where's Micah says:

He’s worth keeping if you already have him and are able to field an ok defence without him. Put him in your starting lineup in case he starts, I think West Brom will stay fairly tight at the back over the next few GWs.

    Tip of the day

If you want to decide who to transfer this week , first work out who you will need next week

Aguero likely to top the capt polls next week , especially if he should score this week. For thaat reason im taking out Bale for a cheap mid , then next week can do Fletcher Aguero

    Sound good?

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
