FFS Paddy Power Cup – Last Sixteen Results

Gameweek 18 saw the last sixteen in the Paddy Power Cup go head-to-head, with a place in the Quarter-Finals and the inaugural Fanatsy Football Scout shield at stake. The results saw the top ranked player again make ominous progress, while notable names from the community also found safe passage…

Iyad Zahlan’s “Giavara555” saw off the plucky challenge of legriff to make it into the last eight to become the name that everyone wants to avoid in the draw. He’ll be joined by JMS, placed just 29 places behind him in the overall FPL rankings – another name the rest of the pack will hope to skip in next round. That heavy-hitting pair are joined by ange1range1, Wild Rover, MileHigh, Mr.KK, Ricky smokes let’s go and Tommy Tynan’s left shin pad in the last eight. All those teams now qualify for the draw for the Shield tournament, where they will be facing the final eight in the Members Cup which starts early next year.

The full results from the last sixteen are below with the draw for the Quarter-Finals due on Thursday, ahead of Gameweek 20. Tomorrow’s Gameweek gives our remaining cup participants a brief rest period, then, before the last eight do battle in the matches played out in Gameweek 20 over the December 29 and 30 matches.

Congrats to our last sixteen winners.

1ange1range150 – 49Lardy Man
2JMS65 – 51Perchinho
3Wild rover51 – 49Kenncam
4Donaldo48 – 70MileHigh

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

A)Keep Sterling and Aguero (no transfers (have to play sterling and no backup

    b) Aguero to Berbatov this week so can fund sterling bale next. again no back up

    c) spend 4 points and get berbs AND Bale now ,

im leaning that way , there a good chance of rotation so if i dont take hit will probably have to play cuellar against city , might even only have ten
So good chance it may pay off. Only thing concerning me is Bales four yellows

However, I think at least one Stoke defender/GK is essential.

Hey DZers, any Aussies/cricket lovers watching the Boxing Day Test Match?

Back on topic, I've got a few questions:

    1. Should I use my FT for Silva ➡ Piennar or save it?

Silva has three very tough away fixtures imo (sun, nor and sto) while Pienaar has form and very good fixtures (WGN, CHE and SWA).

    2. Should I play Foster (qpr) or Federici (SWA)?

1 i would never do cuz Silva plays for Man City and I feel is always more likely to score points than Pienarr. Thats why he costs 9.5 million. You might have the horribe ''im stuck with this guy for a while '' feeling when Fellaini comes back too

      2 Federici for me

Would like to as I'm not known for benching a defender with a nice home game. I play 343 though and I dont want to bench any of the in form Sess, Michu, Silva or Snodgrass.

This weeks transfer was Enrique out for Luiz. I wish now i spent 4 points and went Hughes and Ba out for Luiz and Berbs.

Alreet lads. I'm still doing rubbish this year. Captain berba as a differential to try and make a dent in the table? Or just captain RVP? Because if he does get rested, i wouldn't be gutted, as I would be happy from a real footy perspective!

No need for unnecessary risks.... Lots of time left to improve your standings. If RVP plays, he is the man to captain blatantly. Also Berba is so off form its not even funny. Just having Berba on this form is bad enough, putting the armband on him is just silly

Looks good to me. I would probably save it. Or look at getting someone in for sterling. I expect more rotation when Sturridge comes in. If you do plan to get rid, might as well do it this week as he is unlikely to get many points this week. And the blank fixture means you would probably have to play him

He's perfect captain material, but only if you want a differential. Van Persie could easily get a hat trick but he could easily play 10 mins or no minutes at all. Part timers and headstrong players will be captaining RVP and for good reason in the latter case, but if you have him and/or bring him in, I would captain him, regardless of Ruiz playing or not.....unless you have a better option that you think will definitely go mental.

Alright seriously does anyone have any idea as to what the United lineup will be in the morning?

    Have SSN said anything?
    Fergie?
THere's nothing on the Rag website (spits)

Besides Anderson, Nani and Kagawa, according to FPL they have a complete squad almost to pick from with Rafael a doubt/possible ( i have him and would like him to play, but not essential).

What lineup do we think United will field?

I have Rafael and Rooney, but want a 3rd for the Winter, or possibly Rafael to Jones or Smalling.

People talk about stoke's fixtures going bad, but their home fixtures are AWESOME following the WC. They also rotate very well with west ham, WBA AND Norwich. I'm seriously considering going treble stk (bego, cameron, wilko/Wilson) with Forster, and either o'brian + demel or one of them plus turner. Would then add in a big hitter (baines, GJ, luiz) depending on fixtures. I know trebling is a risky move, but I'm miles behind, and so things can't get much worse! Who's with me?

Two is enough IMO. And they will concede against Suarez this GW for sure. 😉

My only problem with that is Stoke defenders are getting very expensive, Wilson/Wilkinson aside. It'll cost you to get three of them plus a Baines/GJ.

Already got bego when he was cheap. Will get Cameron at 4.9m, and wilko (4.4m) until Wilson (4m) is fit.

Yeah I just took a look at your team and saw that wouldn't be an issue. I'd be all for it then. The fixtures are excellent.

Been using 2x Stoke and 2x West Ham as my keeper/defender rotation for a while. Pick the wrong ones last 2 weeks because of the away clean sheets but the theory is sound.

    Tevez to Benteke/Berbatov

Save it. I also have Tevez. Whenever after I took him off, he score well.
And then I bring him back in and he do shit.

I bet you never imagined you'd do Tevez to Benteke 🙂

I chose him but sold Berbatov and kept Tevez. He's still good value. Beware yellow card nightmares, FT could be v. useful.

Cmmon seeing lots trying to get rid of TEVEZ ,, i think Tevez every time proofs consistency and points in the times of transfering him out ,,, what u think ?

Same here. Very tempting to take him out but feels wrong so sticking with him as long as i can.

      I think he'll start.

      He was subbed last game.

I see Tevez and Dzeko starting with Aguero coming on late.

Aguero then starting on the weekend.
