FFS Paddy Power Cup – Last Sixteen Results

Gameweek 18 saw the last sixteen in the Paddy Power Cup go head-to-head, with a place in the Quarter-Finals and the inaugural Fanatsy Football Scout shield at stake. The results saw the top ranked player again make ominous progress, while notable names from the community also found safe passage…

Iyad Zahlan’s “Giavara555” saw off the plucky challenge of legriff to make it into the last eight to become the name that everyone wants to avoid in the draw. He’ll be joined by JMS, placed just 29 places behind him in the overall FPL rankings – another name the rest of the pack will hope to skip in next round. That heavy-hitting pair are joined by ange1range1, Wild Rover, MileHigh, Mr.KK, Ricky smokes let’s go and Tommy Tynan’s left shin pad in the last eight. All those teams now qualify for the draw for the Shield tournament, where they will be facing the final eight in the Members Cup which starts early next year.

The full results from the last sixteen are below with the draw for the Quarter-Finals due on Thursday, ahead of Gameweek 20. Tomorrow’s Gameweek gives our remaining cup participants a brief rest period, then, before the last eight do battle in the matches played out in Gameweek 20 over the December 29 and 30 matches.

Congrats to our last sixteen winners.

1ange1range150 – 49Lardy Man
2JMS65 – 51Perchinho

6ricky smokes lets go57 – 42Green_Libero
7legriff58 – 62Giavara555

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Check the last year Team line-ups.

Wayne Rooney was the main attacking threat, he played only 2 matches in full during this festive period.

So Rvp will be rested in this match.i am telling you 100% this will happen.

I hope so, but I'm leaving the arm band on him. Hopefully he gets the rest and Newcastle come away with at least a point 😀

Chicharito will be behind Krul though and score a goal just like he did against Chelsea. Always something super dumb.

Of these four transfer options, which would you say is the best? And if it is one of A, B, or C, do you have any ideas as to who I should transfer them out for? I have .1 in the bank and just 1 free transfer this week, and I don't want to take a hit. I have confidence in the rest of my players this week, but my bench is weak and I know that these three players have a risk of not playing. Thanks!
    A) Defoe out for someone else this week
    B) Sterling out for someone else this week
    C) Tevez out for someone else this week
    D) No transfers this week

Haha, you're right now that I look back on it. I don't have much faith in Berbatov or Jelavic since they haven't been consistent lately; I know Berbatov is up against Southhampton this week but I still am hesitant to bring him in. I feel like if Defoe plays he will outscore those two, but there is a chance Defoe won't play.

Thanks, I just looked at the Team News and it also says Defoe will play this week. I was worried that Dempsey being in the squad would somehow force Defoe out of it, but apparently Dempsey has a groin problem. Now that I look, Sterling also is expected to play this week, but Tevez is not. I just don't know who I could switch Tevez out for that I think would do better than him.

Only player I'd consider as an option to Tevez is Torres as he is guaranteed starts. I think Tevez will see game time this wknd though. Just a feeling.

Well, I hope you're right. My opponent has Ba and Berbatov(plus Van Persie who he and I will both probably captain) up against Defoe and Tevez for me. I won't have money for Torres this week unless I take a hit and I'd rather not take a hit. Thanks for the help, good luck this week!

I thought about Taarabt, but after this week he has some tough fixtures in front of him and he also has a risk of suspension. Puncheon is a possibility, but I want a midfielder who I am confident starting each week since my fifth mid is Guthrie at the moment.

imho....This weeks transfer should be about raising enough cash for Sess>Walcott next week. Maybe
      Gallas&Fletcher > Benteke/Davies for a 4 pt this week
      then Sess>Theo next week.

If you do not want to take the hit this week. Then do one and take the hit next week.

Due to my "man crush" on RVP, i am a bit biased on my (c) choice!

But don't forget they have a game on 1st as well so there are more chances of him starting today rested on 29th and again starts on 1st.

    1) assuming Rafael doesn't play....cueller will come on...any chance of a cs against city?
    2) sterling is also starting for me against stoke...already have Suarez...

    So
A: do Rafael >> vertoghen....bt spurs have two away fixtures and Rafael shd be back on the weekend
B: cueller >> Hughes....wanna do this bt with demel, caz, Rafael and possibly sterling rested...doesn't make sense to take out a player who will def start
C: since I don't want sterling against stoke, can do sterling >> any mid upto 6.4...bt who..Norwich have crap fixtures...
D: do caz >> bale...this way I will put sterling on the bench...

Sounds ok, but Bale has been pretty inconsistent this season. Teams are starting to find the solution to stop him, which is by pushing the defensive back slightly more back so Bale doesn't have space to explode on the left flank. Anyways, just to make it short- I'd go for it if it's for free.

I did it for free before the rise. Bale more explosive, great fixtures coming and the best option for TOT coverage. On the other hand he might have a slow start since he's coming off injury but when it comes to star caliber payers you don't want to miss on the potential.

I think we should all wait for Berbs to actually do something before jumping on board. As a long term owner he has been disappointing to say the least and Ruiz is only 50/50 for the Southampton game. Am expecting a two pointer
